• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Rear Trunk help

Update I removed the latch mechanism and looked it over but it seemed to be working fine. After replacing it I found my trunk still would not stay shut. I went through all the related parts and found the problem was not the latch, but rather the latch cable. The cable had frayed just a bit...

    Cruise control problem

This is strange but here it is. Over the past few months I noticed my cruise control (or maybe just the switch itself) was getting finicky. If I tried to step up the speed or drop it down it would usually shut off the cruise. It got a little worse with time. Now I have to ride for about 20 miles...

    Rear Trunk help

Rear Trunk help UPDATE My left rear side trunk will not stay shut. It seems like the latches are possibly stuck in the open position ? I noticed the last time I opened it I had to pull the latch a lot harder than usual. I sprayed WD40 on the latches to no avail. Before I start pulling panels...

adapting to the Spyder and initial setup

Welcome One thing that is the same as a regular bike is this, experience is everything. I recommend logging as much time as you can when you start. It is important to remember that most riders are uncomfortable with the Spyder at first. Its ok, its part of the process. I can honestly say I...

    TIRE SUPPLIER?

If I follow you correctly, you will have to have a Spyder dealer take your rear tire off of your Spyder, unless you do it yourself. You can then take the tire to a tire shop and have a new tire put on the rim. Whether a tire shop will replace a tire which was not purchased from them is their...

    can you believe this question?

Is anyone aware of any Spyder ever rolling ? I'm not. Striking objects, or being hit doesn't count.

    Corrupt Cops

Well there's the weak excuse I was certain was coming my way. "As Spyder riders we come into contact with law enforcement daily" ( so here's some highly insightful intelligence I've assembled to warn other Spyder riders about "corrupt cops"). Really, gee thanks. Why not tell the truth, that...

    Corrupt Cops

Exactly. I can't believe anyone would afford any sort of credibility to junk like this. More importantly, This is a SPYDER website. It's supposed to be about Spyder related topics. This is a political post and it doesn't belong here.

    Finished Canadian Rockies

Well I just finished my longest trip. From Las Vegas to the Canadian Rockies and back, 3168 miles. The sights were the best I've ever seen. I stayed in Banff while I was there. It is a tourist town but it was still a great place. I would recommend this ride to anyone who is up for the adventure...

    No Help In Kalispell

Me Too ! Amazing ! I had the same treatment at the Kalispell dealership with a back tire 2 years ago while I was on a long trip. I don't remember who the individual was. They told me they do not do back tires, and suggested that I try the Harley dealership down the road. There was another...

coolant overflow tank wall thickness and capacity

I just changed mine last month. While I didn't measure it or cut it up, I can tell you that it was pretty thick and tough. You could probably stand on it without collapsing it. The new one was $97  And is easier to see your fluid than the one on my 2011 RTS.

Polaris has begun the advertising for the slingshot

I think from Polaris point of view, they took ATV's and made them side by side vehicles, and it worked out well for them. Now Spyders have become popular, so they'll make them side by side as well. I'm guessing it will probably go well for them. They have a history of making good products, I...

Got it tweaked pretty darn good

Love It The instructional videos have been a huge help for me in the past. I have actually had my laptop on the garage floor next to me while working on the Spyder. My wish list for future videos : Battery replacement, air filter replacement, fuse and relay inspection and replacement.

    Does anyone else do this?

Dan, are you crazy ???!!! Don't you realize you are starting a chain of serious consequences when you do this ? They are, but not limited to : 1.Premature wearing on all of the shocks, as fluid is broken down by being forced through small holes, and coils are being senselessly compressed...

Rolo Laser Alignment coming to Phoenix Arizona

I drove 647.2 miles round trip to get mine done. Admittedly, I took a few scenic routes. And I would do it again. Beautiful riding and the perfect time of year to tour the desert. It's so nice to go straight after pulling left for 2 years. Great people, staff and customers both.

Coolant Change ? Read this first

Thanks for the advise. I'm going to try to see if BRP will cover it, even though my Spyder just went out of warranty a short time ago. The hose clamp on the bottom radiator hose is crimped. You will have to cut it off at the crimp spot. I have not personally done it, but it can be done with...

Thanks, I figured it was unlikely it could be welded without removal.
