• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Shopping for a 2 wheeled Trailer to transport Spyder RTL

What's your intended use of the trailer? Occasional returns to dealer? 1,000 mile trips twice a year? IMO, a tandem axle trailer is much more stable in crosswinds and buffeting from trucks. You also gain the redundant tire in case of a blowout. I had a blowout on a single axle trailer at 70mph...

2020+ Front Lower LED Light comparison

I also have the OEM light on my 21 and agree that its more for visibility than projecting light down the road. I will say its the easiest modification I've ever done. Remove the screws and the cover, install the light and the screws. No wires, no splicing, just plug and play.

Want to Switch Turn signal bulbs to LED - which LED bulbs?

I found LED bulbs with built in load resistors from Auxito. Check carefully for the right bulbs, they are not the same as the old fashioned 1157 automotive bulbs (at least not on my 21 RTL). The locating pins on my bulbs are 150* apart, not 180*.

    BRP as an investment…

There's always one that disagrees. I question BRP's ability to plan for long term brand viability. My evidence is the way Evinrude outboard motors has disappeared. One of the oldest makers was ruined (IMHO) by BRP's refusal to invest in 4 stroke engines and lack of development of motors larger...

Need to know Jacking points using a floor jack?

Be careful if using a floor jack under the front center of the spyder. I had mine quite high trying to get jack stands under the a-arms when the jack started to squirt out from under the spyder! Apparently the rubber pad on my jack could not prevent the weight of the machine from pushing the...

21 RTL Handlebar shake at 45 mph. Running out of ideas. Any suggestions?

PROBLEM SOLVED! Today I installed Vredestien Quatrac front tires on my '21 RTL at 4,800 miles. The shake at 45 MPH is gone. Crappy Kenda tires are now on the burn pile. Thanks to all who tried to help me along this drawn out mess. Most of you were right from the beginning, but I was too stubborn...

Where to get the best price Extended Warranty for Spyder F3?

I had excellent results with Thomas Palmer at iMotorsports (630-634-8428). Foolishly, I purchased a non-BRP warranty (Torque) last year when I bought the new RTL. Cost was $1567.50. I cancelled that warranty and inquired about the BRP B.E.S.T warranty and was quoted $1142.00. One call to...

    2021 Warranty work?

I don't often jump to the defense of dealers, but..... Why didn't you get the warranty work done where you bought it? Some dealers would put you at the end of the longest waiting list if you bought somewhere else. I can't say I blame them.

After advice on which covered trailer for hauling Spyder?

My 19 RTL (same size as your STS) would not fit through the door opening on my 6X12 enclosed trailer. Turns out the trailer was 6 feet wide to the outside of the walls. Subtract wall thickness, door frame, and door seal and the spyder won't go in. Measure very carefully before you buy. I bought...

What's the one thing you think is Useless Junk on your Spyder?

19 And while they're removing volume buttons (I count 4 - joystick, volume on the left handlebar, volume on the "tank" and volume by the passenger seat), put the windshield button back on the left handlebar where it was on my '19.

21 RTL Handlebar shake at 45 mph. Running out of ideas. Any suggestions?

Well, the results are in. After road force balance the handlebar shake is dramatically reduced, but not gone. They put 2 ounces on the right and 1.5 ounces on the left, both are more than was originally there. I'll ride it like this until I can find better quality replacement tires. The...

Stuff for my new RT? Your input is needed.

You asked for opinions, so here goes: I prefer the non-sequential fender signal lights. I think the combination of flashing and scrolling lights is confusing, especially from the rear. As long as you're doing fender lights, get the signal lights for the mirrors. I bought both from Lamonster. On...

Recommend any Blocks for front wheels in trailer?

Not cheap, but I used two Condor motorcycle chocks. Very heavy duty and nice looking. I already had one from my Harley days so I only had to buy one additional. Position the Spyder in your trailer to achieve desired tongue weight of 10-12% of the trailer total loaded. Mark the exact location...

21 RTL Handlebar shake at 45 mph. Running out of ideas. Any suggestions?

PMK, You have been so generous with your help, I couldn't inconvenience you any further. I will go back to the guy who found the runout and ask them to do the road force balance. They seemed knowledgeable and more importantly, they really were trying to solve my problem. If that fails...

21 RTL Handlebar shake at 45 mph. Running out of ideas. Any suggestions?

PMK, Thanks for your continued efforts to help me. The runout observed was approximately 1/8 inch in both axis. Maybe a little less. Based on your feedback, I think I'll try the last shop and have the wheels balanced correctly with the weights in the proper places. I'm assuming a failed belt...

21 RTL Handlebar shake at 45 mph. Running out of ideas. Any suggestions?

PMK, The latest balance attempt ended up with no balancing being done. The guy showed me how the left tire had visible runout both radially and laterally. By that I mean I could see the tire tread rise and fall when viewed from the side. When viewed from in line with the tire I could see the...

Peter, thank you for clearing up my lack of knowledge. The guy at the tire shop pointed it out to me, so apparently he doesn't know either!

21 RTL Handlebar shake at 45 mph. Running out of ideas. Any suggestions?

Update on my handlebar shake issue. Update on my tire balance issue. I took them to a shop in Ft. Myers, FL for a "road force" balance. They found the balance was fine on the tires, BUT the left tire had radial and lateral runout. The right tire had only radial runout. Also found some confusing...

Stripped Threaded Push Pins in Side Storage compartments????

I did the same job on my 21 RTL. I used long needle nose pliers to pull on the "screw" heads and just yanked them out. Going back in I used a phillips screw driver as a pusher and pushed the "screws" back in.

Winter Storage - Garage or Cargo Trailer

I also recommend the cargo trailer with adequate ventilation. One addition I have used in the past is a "marine bilge heater" these are 120 VAC pancake heaters with a small fan. They are UL rated for continuous use in an engine compartment on a boat (no explosion risk). Boaters use them when...
