• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Check Transmission

Good point on the 'reboot'. To do this, the key has to be switched off-on 3 times in a couple seconds. Then let it set a few mins.

    Check Transmission

Hi there, and welcome to the Spyderlovers forum! Regarding the transmission: There has been an issue that popped up regarding the SE5 and its transmission sticking. I am not sure if your machine has all of the recalls and updates completed, but if you do not, it is recommended you do. That...

    Parking Brake Cable Routing/Installaion.

Hey fellow Spyder/Ryders! Been noticing my Parking Brake Cable is worn and despite the lubrication I've applied down/through the sheath over the past couple years it still appears to be binding. I guess the weather, terrain and normal wear has finally gotten to it. I'm ordering a new Parking...

    My First Cold Ride!!

Hey everyone! Thanks for sharing - very cool (pun intended ;)). I ryde my RS Spyder SM5 year-round here in Newfoundland. It is indeed challenging, but can be very rewarding! :) Heated gear is a key element of ryding in cold weather. I use heated grips every winter and wouldn't be able to...

Squeaky brakes and steering locking up

This is a good news thread - thank you for sharing. Indeed - there was a couple DPS (Dynamic Power Steering) recalls in the past. The older brake pads also squeak and I've heard they've replaced them with a different type/material. Thanks for sharing! Keep on good terms with that dealer - they...

I can't be the only one who feels this way....

"We're retired and on a fixed income. I've made modifications slowly and really searched for alternatives when possible." I have a long ways to go before I retire. I am fairly frugal, so I pick and choose my upgrades, if any, and they are driven by functionality and practically, first and...

Fall Friendly Reminder on Tire Pressure & Oil Levels.

 Good point Doc - both fronts the same. Thanks for the note. Hey Scotty!! Well, this summer has been SOOO busy, much more so then I'd like. June for us was a complete washout - pun intended. We had record amounts of rain fall here, 27 out of 30 days were rain/drizzle and/or...

Fall Friendly Reminder on Tire Pressure & Oil Levels.

Hey guys! As the temperatures of fall drop, so does our tire pressure. As per our Spyder's Owner's Manual tire PSI should be checked before each ride as part of the pre-ride check. As some of us already know, the Spyder(s) are very sensitive to tire pressure and keeping them at the top of...

    exhaust gasket question issue ???

:agree: Hey guys! Yes, boborgera is right on with the Honda Number. I've never used for the Honda gaskets, but many of us have and had great results! I may in the future, as I find I have to replace the BRP gaskets (stock gaskets - usually do all at the same time) between 10,000km-15,000km...

    Brake failure

:agree: Yes, could just be brake fluid required in a reservoir. Note that if you need to add a large amount of brake fluid to top it it (these sensors are very sensitive) is should ONLY be DOT 4 fluid. It is NOT recommended putting DOT 3 or other in there, especially not mixing. Hope this helps...

    RS - Throttle Lock

Instead of an actual Throttle "LOCK", you may want to consider a Throttle Assist or similar, which does NOT lock the throttle, but does help with your hand/wrist - still provides control if you hand is off the bar. http://www.legendaryusa.com/Throttle-Rocker-2-Throttle-Assist-p/rocker2.htm Hope...
