• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

2016 RT - What Tools should be in the tool kit? Help

If you'd like to just replace the tool kit, you can buy one for about $55 from www.cheapcycleparts.com, part # 704700158. I don't remember the contents of the kit, but a basic kit for the byke should include: a set of star drivers a set of metric allen wrenches a flat head and phillips head...

Thread just for us old Type-1 diabetic insulin pump wearing Spyder Ryders

Since I'm a simpleton, I suspect the device will outsmart me in the first 5-10 minutes. I'll be breaking mine in during August of 2018. Can't wait!

Thread just for us old Type-1 diabetic insulin pump wearing Spyder Ryders

Sounds like like the bolus calculation is still intact. I'm bugging Medtronic again about offering a higher-resolution screen for their phone app so I can better read my blood sugars while on the Spyder. I know you avoid this technology, but I find it extremely useful to be able to monitor...

Thread just for us old Type-1 diabetic insulin pump wearing Spyder Ryders

Bob - I just want to make sure that I'm following you as I not yet blessed with the new pump. Are you saying that you can't bolus for a meal, OR that it doesn't do a good job of quickly adjusting if you DON'T bolus?

2013 RT back rest & seat don't jive?

You can also look for a 2014+ stock seat on the "For Sale" section where many have bought an aftermarket seat and have their old one collecting dust.

    New Member Looking to Purchase

Well done! Give yourself about 300 miles to make the transition from 2 wheels to 3. The Spyder is a new animal, but once you've adapted you'll appreciate the stability that 3 wheels brings.

Thread just for us old Type-1 diabetic insulin pump wearing Spyder Ryders

I've been a type-1 since 1964, taking hundreds of gallons of insulin since then. The pump isn't a perfect answer to managing the diabetes, but I find it FAR easier and more consistent than shots, even very frequent shots. It works you to death with changing out the sensors and infusers and...

    TricLed headlight problems ....

I concur. Slide the connector straight down into the side, work in the ballast on the other side. It is tight but is does fit. Leave as little behind the bulb's fan as you can. I've got the TriCLED lights as well, really like them.

    Spyder dependability

Glad to hear about your experience in reliability. I'm planning on a 3000+ mile trip next year and I'm looking forward to the same.

    Zumo 660/IPOD RT LTD

The instrument panel doesn't show the correct iPod song? That's a bit curious. I've had iTunes mislabel some of my music and I had to manually correct it. First, I'd make sure that this isn't the issue. If that's not the issue, select a song, then look at it on the iPod and the dashboard to...

Custom Dynamics HMT Brake Light - Need Help!!

It's the nature of the beast that you'll soon get very handy at removing Spyder body parts. I like to farkle, but I was initially concerned that the panels wouldn't hold up with me regularly pulling them on and off. Since then I've remove nearly every panel, front and back, multiple times...

    Trailer coupling

I've seen no connectors of this type that DIDN'T have the security pin hole. Not only can a locking pin prevent the trailer from being stolen, it can prevent exactly what happened to you. Very glad there were no injuries. Get a locking pin or at least a bolt and nut.

Cross Country Trip may been on the horizon!!

I'd like to avoid the trailer, but 3 weeks of diabetic insulin pump supplies will take up a full saddlebag. I don't mind going lightly if I can. I'll have to trial-run some packing.

Cross Country Trip may been on the horizon!!

I'm considering retiring in the fairly near future - unfortunately not completely on my own terms (it's hard to be old and stay in technology!). The bright side is the bucket-list trip I've been wanting to go on for years. Rough plan - leave sometime in spring, after the worst of the...

    Gas Tank - I'm Confused

If you DO switch to the digital gauges, there are a variety of items that can be used to fill the 52mm holes of the now defunct digital gauges (thread police - YES, I'm getting just a bit off topic!) JT's shop sells a power outlet and a dual-plug USB outlet that fits perfectly in these holes...

    Gas Tank - I'm Confused

I also have a 2014 and my digital gauges annoyed me. When my bike was a full as it would allow, the top segment of the digital gauge never lit up. I went back to the analog gauges a year ago and I personally found them more usable. I once got in a handle when I couldn't find gas after the...

    cell phone hookup

Most of us use RAM X-Grips to hold the phone on the handlebars, and Providence (one of our sponsors) makes a RAM mount that can attach a ball to the handlebars. Providence and JT (again these are site sponsors) make power plug and USB adapters that can be mounted in a couple of places. I think...

have 75 mi. total and already broke the RH water deflector plastic piece ..!

Wow - I'd still ask the dealer. Perhaps the item was poorly installed or defective. If you are a do-it-yourself-er, you might try www.cheapcycleparts.com or a similar website.

    RT Towing

Curious. This does eliminate the issues of having to remove the drive belt, but it leaves me with two questions: Do you have to lock the front wheels? How do you do that? If not, how do you keep the bike rolling straight? Will your car or truck block enough air that the windshield isn't...
