• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Indian Motorcycle's touch screen

Hard to say, but it looks like the 2018 RT dashboard might be a step in this direction. It appears that it is designed to use your phone via Bluetooth to provide music, navigation and perhaps other services. I like the full color display on the website. I wonder what happens when you're out...

You can hook an inexpensive bluetooth receiver device to the iPod adapter in your trunk, synch to it with your phone, and play music from any phone. It is powered through the adapter and you can keep the phone in your pocket or on your handlebars. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01EV1GVBK

Time to choose between Mustang and Ultimate

The Mustang for the Spyder is fairly new and there is little history or knowledge here. But...... - Like you, I had a GREAT Mustang seat on my old Honda Shadow Sabre. LOVED it. - Like you, I hated the stock seat. I bought the Ultimate Tallboy and really like it. - I've never heard anything...

    Too coolfor school

After 40 years in software design.... I'm about to semi-retire and teach physics and chemistry part time in a local high-school. I too will be "too cool for school".

Thread just for us old Type-1 diabetic insulin pump wearing Spyder Ryders

Houston area support for diabetics Houston is desperately looking for help with diabetic supplies including insulin, alcohol swaps, syringes (in unopened boxes), pump supplies, etc. Steve Ponder who wrote "Sugar Surfing" has people assisting in the coordination of this effort, and you can look...

Dim brake lights including 3rd brake light question

I concur that lots of electrical issues are caused by bad grounds. However LEDs tend to work or not, they don't tend to dim. Can you compare your lights to another Spyder? Concerning the third brake light - what brand is it? I have a custom dynamics 3rd brake light/turn signal that fits in...

    Helmet impact zones

I've laid a bike down once (lowside) and just happened to have my modular helmet on with the front pulled down. Although I don't remember hitting on my face, the front-left part of the visor was badly scratched up as was the side of the helmet. Very glad I wasn't wearing a brain-bucket that day.

LaMonster FBB Highway Bracket & other pegs

I have the same inseam and I'm very stiff. I tried the FBB and found that I had to spread my feet farther apart that I was comfortable with. I then installed the NBV and love them.

2015 RT Limited, Heat coming up the front of the seat

If you ever replace your seat, get a tallbox or other extra length seat. Being and inch or 2 back from the heat has kept my chestnuts from roasting on the open fire.

Interesting article on why we have crashes

Good read, and might help prevent an accident. Quick summary says we crash due to aggressive riding, rider inattention, or lack of skills...

    Gas and Temp

I tried going digital for a year or more, went back to analog in that they seem to be more accurate. I sold the USB ports and voltmeter I had in the old gauge holes, put the old gauges back in, installed USB ports on the rocker switch panel and a Kuryakyn voltmeter on the dash.

Thread just for us old Type-1 diabetic insulin pump wearing Spyder Ryders

If you're eating some high carb stuff mixed with fats like pizza, I find that the square wave or dual wave bolus works best. For me, about 8 units spread over and hour (Spyder people - how we handle as we ryde IS relevant to this forum!) Proteins and fats DEFINITELY affect how carbs are...

Bob - you and I have been Type 1 for 52 years, so I'm sure you're as insulin-resistant as I am. My maximum bolus and maximum basal are both WAAAAY beyond the suggested limit.

    Garmin 595LM

I may have a chance to buy a Garmin 595LM dirt cheap, and I like some of its features (Smart Link, Connect, brighter screen). The connector on back looks the same at the one on my Garmin 660 but I doubt it is. I've read some posts about adapters for putting new Garmins on the RT mount, but I...

    Airhawk assistance

I have the Ultimate Tallboy seat and it is great most of the time, up to 3 or 4 hours. I have the Airhawk and I use it only on trips longer than 4 hours, and it does prevent some leg and butt pain. I couldn't ride in the stock seat more than about 45 minutes before I had to stop.

Can't retain last playlist using Iphone and dongle

Is the iPhone a dedicated music player or do you use it as a phone as well. Often other applications, particularly stuff like iHeart & Pandora will cause the music player to reset. If it is dedicated and you leave it plugged into your bike all the time, is it running down the phone's battery...
