• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Vibration GONE

Same issue with my 18RT. Belt dampener is not a warranty item, however I raised enough hell with my dealer and BRP that they installed one at no charge. BRP is well aware of the situation and should warranty that. Again, insist with your dealer. Should be FREE.... Now some on this board would...

Mounting brackets for driving lights higher up.

I mounted my light directly on the clear wind deflector below the mirror. Solid, sturdy no problem at all. The light is wired with a small plug so I can remove panels without having to remove the light. The bike is at the shop for defective left cluster and will post a picture as soon as possible.

    Manual Gear Selector

Spoke to the dealer. They are replacing the entire left cluster. 7 to 10 days for the part to arrive. Question is: are they replacing with the exact same one or a new "improved" model?

I tried that before my post. All it does is get the whole picture blury. Even worse.

    BRP Recalls

It seems like some dealer do not understand what a recall is. Recall are issued if a SAFETY issue arise. And only SAFETY issues when required by the National Transportation Safety Board. When I went to the dealer, sometime ago, to have the firmware update, the first thing I heard from him was...

    Manual Gear Selector

Ottawa-rider, I am not able to find this bulletin on the web and the one you posted is so small, can't hardly read it. Please tell me where did you get that, so I can download? Thanks a lot.

    Manual Gear Selector

Yes Cruzr Joe. I do all of that. This happened to me once before but somehow it cleared by itself, not this time.

    Manual Gear Selector

I am with Grandpot on this one. Reason is that if I am moving in 4 or 5th gear and try to downshift manually, it will not respond therefore pressing the R to reverse has no effect since the minus button is not being activated by pressing. Waiting for the dealer to call me. I will post the result.

    Manual Gear Selector

Mine is a 2018 RTL. The reverse quit working. The bike rides normally with the gear shifting up and down when at a stop. However, it will not shift down manually thus will not allow for reverse. Does that means that the problem is with the switch in the cluster? Taking the bike to my dealer...

Ok, the Spyder arrived - the questions begin

How about a picture of the clone you made? What material you used? Nice to post that but even nicer to post some details about it. Will help other members on this board.

    Parking Brake

Like I said, it may be just a coincidence that this happened after the seat issue. So far, all seems to work OK. I am now thinking it could be a problem with the left switch cluster. I had a problem putting the bike in reverse a couple weeks ago, but it's OK now, so...... who knows?

    Parking Brake

So, this morning I did a little test (safely in my garage). I started the bike, while NOT seating on it. Started good. Pressed the brake release and brake light started blinking, just like when the problem started. Shut off the bike, removed the key and walked away to my backyard a few minutes...

    Parking Brake

I had a new seat installed about 2 weeks ago and the installer (Ultimate) may not have plugged it properly. It has clip on it but I guess, did not push hard enough to seat it.

    Park brake

When your parking brake fails and just blink, check the Fault Code, under Setting. If you see U0128, before doing anything else, open the seat and make sure the seat sensor cable is plugged in properly. This exact thing happen to me 2 days ago and it was the seat sensor somehow being unplugged...

    Lamonster product

If you're looking for a good portable inflator, get the Ryobi battery operated (18V) from Home Depot. I have two of those for about 2 years and use for all my tires (I keep one in my motorhome and one at home). Built in pressure gauge and can pump over 100 PSI. Great product.

    Parking Brake

This morning left the house to go to a gas station not too far, about 3 miles. Parked the bike and parking brake as usual. Did my purchase and ready to leave. Started the bike, pressed the mode button and pressed the brake button. Ooops! the brake light start blinking. Put in reverse gear, still...

My Spyder bloopers - I will tell you mine if you tell us yours

Something similar to that happened to me a few years ago. I was on a major highway, on my Goldwing pulling a small cargo trailer and my wife on board. It was late afternoon but still enough daylight. I had my CB radio on channel 19, the preferred trucker channel. Looking in my rearview mirror, I...
