• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Polish scratches from gauges?

Won't rubbing compound take out the scratches easily? Something like a product from Automotive Touchup?

    Had an accident today....

The look....ahhh...the look... Well, that's clearly a personal thing. I don't care for the RT look as it's just too big and cumbersome looking to me. There's no question it's a great bike, but we each gravitate to what we like most. If I had to start all over, I'd still get a RS...then...

    Had an accident today....

RSS, new or used...if you're used to the sporty feel, you'll probably miss it if you go with a RT...just me two cents... As far as speed and twisties go, I wouldn't have a bike of any kind if I couldn't fully enjoy the ride...maybe this is because I primarily ride with two wheelers who really...

    NON-ETHNOL GAS

Corn is a horrible and inefficient way to go...period...the switch grass and sugar cane they use in Brazil is far better....regardless, ethanol is ethanol, and it just isn't as efficient as the real stuff... I think hydrogen is the way to go...we just need a little more technology as the stuff...

Helmet... no not a debate looking for options

It used to be that Snell had much more realistic testing protocols...the newer DOT tests are quite comprehensive... No biggie...the more certs, the better, I guess!

    NON-ETHNOL GAS

ethanol is crap...another 'green' idea that fails miserably. BTW, you're still burning a carbon based fuel so emissions are not better anyway....argh! :banghead: You end up spending more on fuel as ethanol is far less efficient...

Helmet... no not a debate looking for options

In the US, the helmets HAVE to be DOT approved...Snell alone won't cut it... I have the HJC IS-16 Scratch...great helmet for the money and reviewed very nicely...

    braking with your heel

I have highway pegs and have been known to brake at times with the heel. It's not that difficult provided you're not riding aggressively...which you can't when your feet are on the pegs anyway.... I think the handbrake is the best way to go...but I think it's like $1000.00 and that's pretty...

    Gas capaity

Just curious...you're not hitting the throttle much? To get 35mpg, you really have to be riding gently. I got 35 on a tank once or twice, but that was when I was riding in a big group at 55mph for a long distance...I average just under 30 now but I ride quite spirited...

You're too funny...all concerned about the bike and all...you could've been killed! Glad to hear you're okay and, of course, that the bike damage is not toooooo bad...I'm sure all with that will be fine. The bike can always be fixed...the body can't always be fixed. Count your lucky stars...

Riding on Code Red Heat Days

Nope...as long as you have a jacket on of any kind, you're gonna sweat profusely. There are products better than UA, but you can't wick into infinity and beyond...your jacket gets soaked.... In MD today, it's 95...tomorrow about 100 and humid...no riding for me...no need and not any fun...it's...

Riding on Code Red Heat Days

Won't do it...no reason. It's simply not any fun to be riding when it's 95 degrees and humid...that's what air conditioning is for, IMHO... Plus, getting heat exhaustion or worse is really not a smart thing to do, especially when you're on a bike...
