• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Anybody used Castrol EDGE Euro 5W-40 A3/B4 Adv Full Synthetic Motor Oil?

Those with experience understand that a motorcycle with a wet clutch requires JASO-certified oil, a preference stemming from our interest in the subject and love for mechanical equipment. However, this may not be the case for someone who relies on BRP to choose an oil other than XPS. I hope my...

Anybody used Castrol EDGE Euro 5W-40 A3/B4 Adv Full Synthetic Motor Oil?

Ron, you mentioned that BRP provides specifications. However, which ones are you referring to? I'm asking because I've encountered three different specifications: one is SN only, another is JASO only, and finally, one that is both SN and JASO. That's my point; can you direct me to where BRP...

Anybody used Castrol EDGE Euro 5W-40 A3/B4 Adv Full Synthetic Motor Oil?

It's disappointing that one cannot depend on the manufacturer to know which oil to use in their engine; we're not discussing which wax is best here. I will also use SN/JASO MA2 exclusively, but it's crucial to address the significant issue of conflicting information in the official BRP...

Anybody used Castrol EDGE Euro 5W-40 A3/B4 Adv Full Synthetic Motor Oil?

2023 RT owner manual ... something was lost between 2022/2023 :-) No mention of Jaso , maintenance states SN, specification says refer to maintenance so lol a full circle to SN only :-) My 2023 REPAIR manual states SN .... OR ...Jaso MA2 ..... try to figure Still waiting for the last...

Oil change question - any inexpensive sockets for the oil filter?

May I inquire whether a low-profile socket is truly necessary?

Oil change question - any inexpensive sockets for the oil filter?

I've noticed that, but I was advised to use the search features as it was the most appropriate thread. Can I delete my post? That, I don't know.

Oil change question - any inexpensive sockets for the oil filter?

Can a 1 7/16 or a 1 1/2 socket be used on the filter and the axle nut if you already have them, as they are quite close to 36mm.

The Fuel capacity in the owner's manual is all over the place!

I'm not sure about you, but I find BRP owner's manuals utterly baffling. They provide confusing information about engine oil, and now I suspect there's an issue with my fuel level indicator. I departed with the low fuel warning active, supposedly with 35 miles remaining. Shortly after, the...

Doing an Oil change on my 2023 RT - how much oil?

The documentation on this subject is inconsistent. In my French and English owner's manuals, there is no mention of the JASO MA2 requirement, whereas the repair manual references SN ... or ... JASO MA2 specifications.

What brand of oil do you use?

I'll probably go with the Liqui Moly Motorbike HC 5w40 street. I found that yesterday and the numbers are good, it has a good rep in Germany and Europe, and the price is very reasonable in Canada where everything cost an arm and a leg Certified Jaso MA2 and SN Plus A BRP filter this time...

Doing an Oil change on my 2023 RT - how much oil?

Do not tell me to read the manual, I did it they say 5 quarts I've read few post saying from 5 to 5.25 to 5.5 The oil change kit shows 6 saying that all I need is in the kit ... usually they are reluctant at giving you more than you need so for the people who are changing the oil in their...

Anybody used Castrol EDGE Euro 5W-40 A3/B4 Adv Full Synthetic Motor Oil?

Oh, rest assured that I will not play guinea pig. I'm just questioning what's coming from the horse's mouth and what I can read from the threads here. BRP are misleading their customers, and not just by a little bit, if they really missed the JASO MA requirement in 3 of their books, it's...

Anybody used Castrol EDGE Euro 5W-40 A3/B4 Adv Full Synthetic Motor Oil?

Hummm.... Now I am really confused .... and BTW that happened before :-) Here is what I have here in Canada. French Owner's manual; English Owner's manual; and the Service manual: That would be lots of typos :) but I fully understand your point, I'll play safe, and I'll use an oil with...

Anybody used Castrol EDGE Euro 5W-40 A3/B4 Adv Full Synthetic Motor Oil?

But BRP is nowhere asking or making JASO spec mandatory , I'm really curious to know why do you guys keep mentioning that? Nowhere does BRP ask for the mandatory JASO cert. All they want is 4-stroke, 5w40, and SN, now SP supersedes the previous spec... A good old Quaker States 5w40 synth fits...

Which Krikit Tension Tool should I buy for 2017 RT SE6?

I all new to this. My book said for my 2023 RT 1050 +/- 150 nm with wheel lifted. So it's 236 pounds once converted. But you said between 220-260 with wheel on the ground, am I mistaken? Don't you have more tension with wheel on the ground? So that looks pretty close to me, lifted or not, there...
