• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Spyder RT Scrapes on Trailer - But Not the Nose

The damaged piece appears to be a bracket to hold electrical stuff (?) and it is basically underneath the left side front footboard (left as you're sitting on the Spyder). Trikermutha describes the situation perfectly. Glenngo is also correct, this bracket is not a problem moving forward...

    Cramped seating for driver?

Feelings are personal but for example, I am 6'-4" and 200 lbs with a 35" inseam and don't feel cramped on my 2017 RT, plus I always ride with a passenger and we use the stock seat. Based on my own experience it's hard to understand how you could feel cramped and I/we don't. In fact, I bought...

Spyder RT Scrapes on Trailer - But Not the Nose

Glenn, sorry to hear that misery loves company. How did you get the damage fixed? My Spyder is still at the dealer waiting for diagnosis, let alone repair. At least my only problem was the reverse not working. I think I still would have avoided that issue if I stupidly hadn't continued on...

Spyder RT Scrapes on Trailer - But Not the Nose

I agree with Blueknight. I don't think this is going to be a repeat problem. I had been focused only on rubbing the nose and that was a mistake. The nose wasn't the problem, it was the middle and that's largely due to the design of the Drop-Tail trailer -- and I'm not slamming Drop-Tail for...

    Just got to Oahu

It's www.hawaiispyder.com and the lady that runs it is Mary DeMonteverde, a very nice lady who delivered our rental to our hotel for us last year. Suggest you contact Mary and see how she gets her Spyders serviced. The only problem I had with my rental was that they had a really loud muffler...

    Can-Am 25" Adjustable Vented Windshield Good for a Tall person? (6'4 )

Nobody can give a good answer to this because the OP didn't state what he is hoping to accomplish and what he/she wants. What works best for one person won't necessarily work best for another because everyone has different preferences and the OP didn't state what his/her preferences were. For...

Spyder RT Scrapes on Trailer - But Not the Nose

Thanks - That makes a lot of sense to me since it's my reverse gear that's not working but everything else IS working. Hopefully they have the part in stock and it's not too difficult to replace.

    Self Leveling

Or, as I found out (see my own thread) you lowered the air pressure for a softer ride and didn't realize that this also lowered the ride height ... causing your Spyder to scrape on your trailer and damage it.

Spyder RT Scrapes on Trailer - But Not the Nose

This last week we trailered our RT on our Drop-Tail trailer up to Page, Arizona, for some riding out to the North Rim of the Grand Canyon and in the Kanab, Utah, area. No problem loading the Spyder at home or unloading in Arizona [once there, the area was truly beautiful and a really nice place...

    Best Trailer For Hauling Spyder

Review of Drop-Tail Trailer: Pros: Bought this last October, have only had time to use it once to carry the Spyder. Very easy to load, my RT doesn't scrape at all, it's a perfect fit, and there are lots of tie-down points. It's also flat so you can use it for other things as needed. As...

What would you choose? Spyder vs Ryker

One is a brand-new model built to the lowest price possible with no track record of reliability and no experienced mechanics because it's new. The other has been manufactured for years and there is a world of information available, quite a few mechanics, and a whole web site full of experienced...

What Tire gauge are you all using?

Thanks to Chupaca for the initial suggestion and to Jerry for helping find the source of the dual fill gauge and filler hose setup. Jerry's link was a good start but the main store link he provided doesn't work due to a technical issues. Here is a good working link to the specific product I...

What Tire gauge are you all using?

I also agree that this sounds like a great idea ... unfortunately none of the "JT Machine Shop(s)" in my google search turned up anything like this. Nor could I find anything really on point on Amazon or elsewhere on google. The closest I could find were...

    Throw away new factory tires?

One's opinion on Kenda tires depends greatly on one's expectations. It also seems to depend greatly on whether you get a good set of Kendas or a bad set. Some here ride a lot and have years of experience, and they can tell you that car tires make a difference for them. I don't doubt that for...

    Kendon Spyder Trailer

Drop-Tail is not out of business. I bought one last October and it is a nice trailer for the Spyder. The fit is nice and it trailers well. I do have issues with the company. I had wiring issues because their "factory" didn't connect the wires properly on either taillight, and Drop-Tail had...

    Trailer Issue

Drop-Tail doesn't have dealers. They sell through the internet. https://droptailtrailers.com/ I bought the trailer through them because of recommendations on this site and as I stated, it's a nice design to haul a Spyder. But buyers need to be aware that we're dealing with a very small...

    Trailer Issue

Drop-Tail was no help whatsoever. They had no recommendation about where to take it for repairs or even what to look for. The only thing their rep had to say to me was that if we needed parts, they would send the parts. They won't cover labor to fix the trailer even though it's blatantly...

    FOBO Help

Funny that Sena doesn't get the bad rap here that FOBO does. Last time I tried to update the firmware on my SMH5's, Sena's drivers wouldn't install on Windows 10 because the drivers were unsigned. I finally found a way to install Sena's unsigned drivers, but that was a major PITA and Sena was...

    Trailer Issue

Hello, we trailered our Spyder RT down to Palm Springs on Tuesday so we could get in a day of riding up to Idyllwild, California, and all around the Palm Springs area. Great ride but that's not why I'm posting. This was our first time using the new Drop-Tail trailer that I bought last fall...

    In my village this morning

Most likely they painted it because many Delorean owners don't like the stainless finish. The stainless looks cool but is very high maintenance. Like your refrigerator, the stainless finish on a Delorean shows every fingerprint. This is why refrigerator makers now offer a finish that looks...
