• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    I know its me but......

I think it's way too easy to "overthink" this. It's a matter of confidence, and you get confidence with experience. And until you get that confidence, why not just ride slow, at speeds at which you ARE comfortable? So you have to slow down a lot to make yourself comfortable in curves. So...

No More Cat Delete for Me

It is the law, however, as jcthorne points out, nobody tests and thus you can't get caught. So, go ahead and cheat. And why not? We're Americans, we cheat on politics, taxes, welfare, you name it. We don't fix stupid laws, we just disregard them. We don't enforce ANYTHING anymore even if it...

Review: Should I Keep Her or Trade Her

I agree with Sarge707. What's missing here is your reason for wanting to sell or trade. If you're having problems with your 2013 and you have the cash, I get that. Or, if you just have the itch to own the latest thing and want a 2020, I get that, too. But your 2013 should have lots of life...

Can-Am Rentals - What would you rent?

Depends on LOTS of things. Where you're riding, how fast you're going to go and how far you're going to go (are you in a city or on the open road for 500 miles). Whether you have a passenger or not (and is the Ryker equipped with a passenger seat). What other baggage and other things you're...

Helmet ventilation and cooling for hot desert riding?

I'm no expert on this but when we rode from Vegas to Lake Havasu, the return trip hit 114 and took at least two hours. We have Arai full-face helmets and wear mesh hi-viz jackets. The only thing we did to beat the heat was to use cooling rags around our necks and keep wetting them every 30...

    Spyder Rentals

Talk to Mary Monteverde of Hawaiispyders.com. They own five rental Spyders in Honolulu. From my experience, they're well-used (i.e. old!) Spyders with manual transmission. In spite of that, somehow she manages to keep them running even though there is no Spyder dealer there. She could...

    Catastrophic failure

This started as a claim that Kendas are unsafe even though they are OEM. Nobody can ever cite a case showing that something is "safe" unless it started as a claim for damages and resulted in a judgment for the defendant. But I don't even know of any cases even alleging that the Kendas are...

    Are Spyder sales Declining Fast?

Hmmmm ... which generation raised these little "monsters" and doesn't take a lick of responsibility for the way they are?

Hi Viz Motorcycle Gear Safer or Not?

I never understood the idea of wearing all black. It's needlessly hot temperature-wise and it's almost like camouflage on the road. Fashion? I don't see myself when I ride anyway and I don't ride to impress others. I like the first comment on the video: "Better to be seen than to be...

    Catastrophic failure

As a retired attorney, I agree 100% with our retired engineer, Tenic. BRP builds to a price like all profit-driven corporations, but a lot goes into their decisions and one legal consideration is, "Is this tire dangerous? Are we going to get sued?" Unless and until somebody can show me one...

    Tire pressure equalizer ? ....

I bought the one from Spyderstore (CnC Machines) and it works well on the Spyder. It is a timesaver and for that reason I like having it.. However, I have been disppointed that it doesn't seem to work on any of my cars. I don't understand why because the stems look the same but for some...

    Done with Spyder

If you reported the defect during the warranty period and they didn't fix it properly, you're still under warranty until it IS fixed properly. The FTC says, "if you reported a defect to the company during the warranty period and the product wasn't fixed properly, the company must correct the...

    Catastrophic failure

Actually you and a couple of other people are the only ones I've heard refer to Kendas as "junk." Statistically you can say that "many, many Kenda users" have posted this here, but I remember hearing that there are about 500 members here. I doubt you counted the number of complaints on the...

    Catastrophic failure

Obviously some Kendas aren't good, but there's absolutely no basis to conclude that all Kendas are junk because of a few anecdotal failures. You can find anecdotal evidence of failures of any tire but you rarely hear of good examples because ... why would anybody post a good example? Well, I...

Disappointed in the Rally Wheel Spoke Wrap

These wraps aren't all they're cracked up to be ... at least not always. I ordered a simple frunk wrap from wrapmyspyder.com. I tried to install it myself, followed all the rules, ran the YouTube video while I was doing it, and still could not get it straight without wrinkling. I reordered...

    Let’s Talk headsets

My wife and I are in the same situation. We use Sena SMH-5s, the simplest Sena you can get. Sound quality is fine, battery life is fine for several hours although I have noticed that they go dead after about 5 hours (we talk a lot), so I bought a second identical pair that can just clip right...

Are there really THAT many differences between the Spyder and two wheels?

Are there THAT many differences? No, just one that's critically important, the Spyder drives and handles like a car and a motorcycle rides like, well, a motorcycle. The Spyder also has car tires and you stop with your right pedal just like car, and the majority of Spyders have a transmission...

    Good Luck

Interestingly, that person "Holly" seems to have disappeared once again. In the entire time "Holly" was participating, I never saw him/her post anything that was actually related to Spyders anyway, only political stuff.

Spyder RT Scrapes on Trailer - But Not the Nose

Could have, but (a) I had loaded and unloaded it twice before without scraping anything, and had loaded it four hours before without scraping anything, and (b) because of (a) I just didn't think of it. The difference between this time and previous times - and I believe the true cause of the...

Spyder RT Scrapes on Trailer - But Not the Nose

Update: Finally got the Spyder back today (in fairness to the dealer, it was finished three weeks ago just as we were leaving to go overseas and so it sat on their lot for all that time). The repair ticket states, "Technician inspected and found reverse actuator and bracket twisted and...
