• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    My new love

I think you've got a great idea but I also think you're going to need a great deal more than $55K to buy one. Everything I've read says the 2020s are going to go higher yet and I suspect the dealers are going to be eager to make a killing on them until the supply catches up to demand. I...

Do not ride on gravel roads?

The Spyderpops belt guard may be a good idea if you can get it perfectly aligned the first time, which IMO requires a lift so you can work comfortably directly under the Spyder rather than beside it. The tolerances are extremely small -- this thing has to be centered in a space of no more than...

    2020 RT first impressions

Visited our local dealer and saw the first 2020 RT they've received. It's very nice, I liked the additional storage a lot and I didn't note any assembly defects. The seat and seating position generally seem to be better, but it now has the same problem the F3 has, and that is that the body...

    First Impression 2020 RTL

Just wait until the end of the model year when BRP overproduces Spyders and there are dozens sitting on the dealers' lots. Then they will be begging for your business. And by the end of the model year, BRP may have worked out some of the quality control issues we've also read about.

    Showing my ignorance

Well, now I'm confused. My 2017 RTS is blue during the day and orange in the dark, like Mazo EMS2 said. Changes automatically. What did BRP do, change back and forth and then finally decide to alternate?

    Problem with Plasti Dip

The wheels are painted red. The guy who does alloy wheel repair did them for me. And BTW do not even try to put on the wrap that Wrap My Spyder sells for these. I bought it and tried it for about 5 minutes and realized there is NO WAY you can do a decent job with that stuff on wheels like...

    Problem with Plasti Dip

Theoretically the wrap would be better, but it seems to depend on the wrap. I tried putting on a simple wrap decal on my frunk, basically a triangle-shaped piece to match the shape of the frunk. Destroyed two decals on my own, took a third to a professional and highly-regarded wrap shop to...

    2012 GS-S on Oahu

Suggest you contact Mary Monteverde at Hawaiispyder.com. She rents Spyders, she has to have a mechanic or else knows how to work on them herself.

Looking for a GO PRO camera to recommend for my 2011 RT

I've been wanting a GoPro for a long time. I'm sure they're great quality cameras, but they lack the one feature I really want, and that's a time/date stamp that will show on the video. Without that, the only way to tell the date of a video is to look at the properties of the video file...

johnsimion or any military retiree; quick question.

Increase was 1.15625% by the numbers. Chasinsparks is correct, 1.6% by rounding. Would have been nice if they had made it 1.16499% and then they could have still rounded it to 1.6%.

Did you ever lose something with no hopes of its return?

My grandfather was an ambulance driver in France in 1917. While he was there, apparently he had a lot of free time and he engraved his aluminum canteen with a beautiful and very detailed artistic scene of the farmhouse in France where he was waiting with the ambulance. He gave that canteen to...

New Here and Looking to Buy 2019 RT Limited

My advice is to just ride your Spyder for many, many miles before doing anything to it other than cosmetic stuff. You can read this forum and become convinced that you need this, you need that, it's going to fall apart unless you do X and Y. Well, some of us find that our Spyder is **JUST...

    Towing Trailer

I agree with NautiBrit and I am also thankful that I'm not the only one who thinks storing the Drop-Tail upright is a one-man job. I store mine horizontally although I do fold over the tail. Even horizontally, with the tail folded over, it still doesn't take up much space. All I can add is...

You gotta be kidding me.....chk your lug nuts yourself

That's not what the decision says. In the examples you gave, no work was not performed and there was no honest mistake. The court rightly draws a distinction between doing the work but making an honest mistake versus lying about doing the work when no work was actually done. Also note that...

Very light scraping while loading - should I worry?

In addition to the concerns noted, I suggest you check to ensure that the center of the Spyder does not catch on the joint between the ramp and the trailer bed. I had this happen on my Drop-Tail trailer, which screwed up the reverse gear and required a repair. It seems that the piece in...

You gotta be kidding me.....chk your lug nuts yourself

The judge is legally correct and I say so as a retired lawyer. You people who think the judge was nuts apparently missed this part of the article: "Anaya’s attorney invoked the Motor Vehicle Service and Repair Act (MVSRA), a 1974 law that protects car owners against “unfair and deceptive...

    To Those Living In Florida

You say you have full coverage. What does that even mean? What's your liability coverage? $25,000 or $1M? How about collision and comprehensive? Is your deductible $100 or $2000? Do you have any accidents? Speeding tickets? DUIs? Where do you live, New York City or Podunk, Nebraska...

    Help needed please

You said your Spyder is one (1) month out of warranty. It sounds like you may have brought this problem to the dealer BEFORE the warranty expired and they didn't get it fixed. If so, you are still covered until they DO get it fixed. The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) says: "if you reported a...

Anyone tried a Laminar lip on F3-S windscreen?

I had a laminar lip on a motorcycle I used to own. It was ugly and did absolutely nothing. You can get a custom windshield that is the right height for you for hardly any more money and that will work better and look WAY better.

    Touring pants

Armor doesn't just protect from the slide. As I see it, getting thrown off is the most likely cause of injury on a Spyder. If I get thrown off, I want knee armor in case I land on my knees. Ditto for head, shoulders, arms, and back. You're spreading out the impact so the chance of broken...
