• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Helmet-mounted 3rd brake light

Just a quick update from the Brake Free team; they've pushed out the delivery once again, to September 2019. It's definitely a disappointment, as I was really looking forward to getting it on my helmet, but once again, the choice is to either b**** and moan, or accept that the team involved is...

Who Rides a Spyder to Work?

I'm another daily commuter. Like many in warmer climes, my main concern is rain -- during the summer we have a lot of afternoon thunderstorms, so those are days I use the bike as an excuse to skip out a little early and, oh, yeah, "work from home." (Actually, not such a wink wink, nudge nudge...

Where do you download your music from..........

You've already gotten a lot of answers, I just wanted to bring up a source of the source for me -- like many responders, I listen to my own library, now 8430 songs and still growing. Unlike some of the others, I endure iTunes, simply because it's too easy to work with and manage, but am...

What is your definition of "warm enough to ride"?

Today pretty much defined my lower limits for commuting -- it was 30 degrees (but no wind) here in central Texas, and because there was no rain in the forecast, I decided to go ahead and ryde it. No disaster to report, but one of the reasons I ride my commute is to have those (thankfully, from a...

    Spyder Sightings

2 RTs in Wimberly today Saw two RTs (pretty sure they were both RTs) in Wimberly, Texas, today around 3:00 or so. One orbital blue just like ours, one white. They were coming southbound on Hwy 12 into Wimberly. We were on foot, walking back across Cypress Creek toward our Spyder from grabbing...

    Best Cell phone mount?

+1 for Techmount I'll echo 2dogs' endorsement of the Techmount -- I spent a lot of time researching the options, and am glad I went with the Techmount. Steady as a rock.

How many Owners buy the B.E.S.T. Spyder Extended Waurentee Insurance?

I guess I'll come down on the "con" side for extended warranties in general -- haven't even really looked at the fine print of the B.E.S.T. warranty so if it's unusually generous, I'm open to being wrong -- simply because the math isn't in your favor. I believe several people on the board here...

    6 more weeks?

It's been in the upper 70s much of the week so far, but we're having one of those "sinking feeling" days today -- the temperature was 73 at midnight, and won't stop dropping until it reaches 34 tomorrow morning. Nothing to complain about compared to blizzards and worse up north, but the rain...

    Sway Bar

No forgiveness needed, but I do encourage you to use the search to see all the threads where this is discussed so you get a full range of views. In short, on the Spyder, the general experience is that the stock anti-sway bar permits too much sway -- as noted by another poster, the give/play you...

Special combo offer on CanAmSpyderAccessories.com -- worth it?

Thanks for that input -- sounds like I'll be better off just buying the grilles and glove box protector separately when they're on sale. It's not an urgent need, but similar to you, I like those grilles.

    The art of the deal

Why do I have this sudden, sinking feeling about the future of the human race?

Good sale going on. I have the dash kit, looks great on our RTS.

Steven, I initiated a thread on this topic as well; what do you mean by the dash kit? The offer is the Spyder grille set, glove box protector, rear trunk organizer, and foam grips.

Does Anyone "Snowbird" with their Spyder?

I don't snowbird (yet), but based on your criteria, you'd probably need to go as far south as Georgia/South Carolina to get average temps in the mid-50s for January through March. If you were willing to go west as far as Arkansas, you'd have a *ton* of great roads to explore, but you'd be...

Special combo offer on CanAmSpyderAccessories.com -- worth it?

Thanks for pointing those out -- as you can see in my sig I certainly know a bit about SpyderPops, but hadn't looked at Harvey's products in those areas. Appreciate the input.

Special combo offer on CanAmSpyderAccessories.com -- worth it?

I probably should have noted in my original post that I have bought from Pierre before and agree with your general assessment; I suppose I was just trying to talk myself into the purchase in a way.

Special combo offer on CanAmSpyderAccessories.com -- worth it?

Pierre at CanAmSpyderAccessories.com is running a special combo offer of some RT-specific items for about half the regular list price if purchased separately. The offer is: - A pair of his stainless steel Spyder front grilles (normally $169.95) - A rear trunk organizer (normally $169.95, but...

    Riding jeans

If your inseam is dragging under your heel, you're doing it wrong...:roflblack: Sorry, couldn't resist. You're right, of course, about it being a literal pain to deal with a limited, generic sizing pattern. I'll have to check them out. I'm not crazy about the price/performance of the MC pants...

Were you ryding on SH 71 between Bastrop and Austin Saturday evening?

Took advantage of possibly the best weather ever for Spydering this weekend and did a run from Austin to Smithville on Saturday afternoon (1/5) via some as-yet-unexplored back roads before shooting back to Austin on SH 71, and caught up with a pair of riders at one of the (too) many lights...

    Helmet-mounted 3rd brake light

Quick update on BrakeFree (the helmet-mounted braking/deceleration light crowdfunded through IndieGogo). The project is overdue ("Shocked! Shocked, I tell you!"), but the latest update came today and has some long-awaited good news: the final product should ship in April. For those of you...

    New Year's Day ride

Unusually cold and dreary (45 degrees and damp, but not raining) down here in Texas -- I know, no one north of the Mason-Dixon line is sympathetic -- but headed out this afternoon for a nice run with little competition on the roads for once. Didn't see any other motorcycles on my route! Happy...
