• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Not the color I wanted but pulling the trigger tomorrow

To funny I would have rather the red one, but only had a choice of blue and magnesium. Took the blue one and it grew on me. The yellow is amazing, has a pearl look to it. The are good looking machines no matter what. The green on the rss and the white on the st are pretty slick.

    Shifting the SE5

Like I said you guys will have a lot more experience with your SE5. My time has been limited with it, but I have a lifetime of experience on a manual clutch motorcycle. Just saying what worked for me to have a smooth shift with out the clunk or jolt. I can shift a 13 speed tractor trailer...

    Shifting the SE5

Yesterday I was in for some service at my dealer. Just regular check up and some campaigns. Nothing serious. My 2012 RTS SM5 has run perfect from day 1. Great Dealer. He tossed me the keys to a brand new 2013 STS Limited with an SE5 and 20 km (12miles) on the odometer. Ashamed of course, I had...

    Engine vibration at 6000 rpm

Partially Resolved Had my 2012 Spyder in to the dealer for a check up. BTW, the dealer is amazing! Difficult to get into because they are so busy doing PDI's it seems. They move a lot of BRP units, seems like the show room changes over every couple of weeks. Had some campaigns completed and...

    Spyderpops SkidPlate

It's still a skid plate not a bumper. The reality is that it is not a bumper, in that it is intended to take a direct force impact. It is an amazing beefed up skid plate. The intended design appears to be to protect the margins of the front of the bike, by ensuring objects low to the ground you...

    Theft

Don't leave unlocked what you don't want to loose. I lock the storage and take the key with me. I know some guys have the in plain view key. I have to admit, they look awesome. I don't know if I am there yet. I love people, but over 23 years in law enforcement and still going has left me a bit...

    Engine vibration at 6000 rpm

same issue I have the same issue on a 2012 RTS with 1800 kms. I attributed to belt slap/ belt tension. I have an SM5. I notice it at 5000 rpm and gone at 5500. In 4th and 5 th gear I have had the engine up to 7000 and 800 rpm..no issues...smooth as ever. I did the oil change myself. Bringing it...

    Riding Gear

Personal Taste I have the Air Intake 3 and matching pants. The mesh is cool in the hot summer and it has a separate waterproof liner and separate thermo liner. You can use all 3 at once or in any combination. I am also a fan of Joe Rocket gear. I am also a fan of "Five" motorcycle gloves. You...

You don't notice the gas smell until you read about it all the time

Help me out here. I was never bothered by the gas smell until I read so much about it here. Now I notice it all the time. Question? Where does the gas smell come from? What is the cause of it? and yes I know the gas smell comes from gas, but how does it come to be that we can smell it coming...

    My First Oil Change

Not that bad. Did my first oil change on Friday after work. The dealer is running 2 weeks behind plus they are changing locations . I was already a few hundred miles overdue. So I bought the kit and followed the instructions. Took about 3 hours. I think I can get that down to 1.25 hours...

This is how you get a closer look...are you kidding me?

On my lunch break heading back to the shop from home and on the highway heading back into the city I look in my rear view mirror and noticed a 3 axle dump truck in the the distance. A very short time later this truck is blowing through the 50 km/h zone, coming up from behind hot only to come up...

Spyder "buzzing" for up to 1 hour after shut down

I agree 100 % completely normal. Dealers should tell buyers this. You only notice it in a quiet garage.

    What's your Spyder's Top Speed?

Funny you should ask I took mine out of storage yesterday. Took it for a buzz down the highway. Throttle open all the way, 170 km/h, which is 105 mph. Oddly enough on the tac that is only 7000 rpm. It would be nice if there was another 2000 to 3000 rpm more that it would go. That said, going...

Giving the RT a Good Wash

I don't know Never want to lead anybody to try something I haven't tried. I don't do my foot pegs because I figure my feet are going right back on them as soon as possible, so they just get dirty again. As for the seat, I have never done anything more than wipe it with a damp cloth. I would be...

    Early Clutch Replacement

Thanks guys for the posts and questions about the SM5's. I love my SM5 and the flexibility of shifting at both higher and lower RPM's depending on how I am feeling and the type of road I am travelling on. I am not a fan of going through school zones and playground zones at higher RPM's...

Giving the RT a Good Wash

My suggestion only: I don't use soap. I just use water and a microfiber cloth to get grime and dirt off and dry it down. XPS spray cleaner and polish combined on all painted surfaces as a cleaner and detailer. Mothers black on black on all the black plastic, and Plexus on all the clear plastic...

    dug out the Spyder yesterday.

I am happy for you. Not being able to get my Spyder out the garage yet is making me moody. Last year April 1 was the on the road date for motorcycles. Its looking more like May 1, this year. I had to shovel the driveway again this morning.
