• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Had the check engine light come on this afternoon while I was at the lake followed by an over heat warning. Got some great advice online at this site about the heater fan fuse and relay. Need some quick help.

I am out at the lake. Have rt sm5. Showing my wife how to Get going in first. She stalled it on the first go. No big deal. But the check engine light has come on and won't go off. And then it overheated. I think when she started the bike she got it going without the mode button, I think because...

What not to say to a cop

42 years as a cop, how on earth did you do it for so long. I am in my 23rd year, and we get to retire at 25 years, my plan is to go at 28 years. I started at 19. If I did 42 years, I would be leaving at 61. And in around year 30, they would be carrying me out in one of those white jackets and...

    Speeding? Why?

Love this post :agree: Still at it. Speeders keep me employed. Drive reasonably and take care out there. I put my pants on one leg at a time just like everyone else, and I know what that urge feels like to twist open the throttle...oh it feels good....Be safe.

The Value of Wearing Good Gear

I have never met Lamont, so maybe I am out of line, but to look at terrible event in a positive light, he has inspired some people to evaluate their riding gear. That doesn't seem like a bad thing. If it can happen to a very experienced rider, it can happen to all of us. I am glad they are...

The Value of Wearing Good Gear

Let them go at it I can see the humour in two seniors battling it out who both make some valid points. I am 44 and my experience has been that less experienced riders have that indestructible attitude. Us riders that have been around for a while realize our own mortality. My 17 year old who...

The Value of Wearing Good Gear

good post Helmet law here is mandatory, regardless I wear a better than average full face. I never ride without at minimum a mesh jacket and gloves. I have armour pants, but I always wear jeans, and that is my own laziness. I am too lazy to remove the wind and water proof panels from the pants...

    Appropriate RPM's to Downshift?

I dont think there is any wrong answer I have an SM5. When I am down shifting from 5 to 4 or 4 to 3, I am usually in that 3800 to 4200 RPM. 3 to 2 I down shift to go around a 90 corner, probably around 3500 RPM. Gears 2,3,and 4 can be very tall gears. When I am coming to a stop in a straight...

    RTS VIBRATIONS

Dont sound like a big issue. Mildly annoying. :agree: I notice it with my RTS and the belt is at a perfect tension and the bike rides great. It is a belt drive thing. I tried setting the cruise at that speed and rpm that causes it to happen and it drove me nuts. The vibration would come and go...

    Bug Guber...Help Needed

I know there have been lots of posts on how to clean your Spyder. I have even contributed to a few of them. I thought I had a handle on it, until a few 100 miles on rural roads this week. Went to clean the bike today and :cus: . I can't get all the bug guber off the front of the bike. The Spyder...

    Stopping the Engine

Kill switch I use the kill switch too. Just following what the book says. I think the only reason is for emergencies. It's habit now.
