• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

so are you ready for pricing

It could be me, but I am not surprised a dealer offered you low wholesale value on a trade in. I am surprised they offered you high retail on a purchase for low wholesale on a trade. Most try to dazzle you with the retail while offering you the basement on a trade to try and close a deal...

I have had enough "spyder loving" from non 2013 owners

Can't believe how many people are not happy with their 2013 RT. That's too bad. I am in love with my 2012 RT. Tell you what though. Me being a helping kind of guy. Will buy your 2013 RT you are having problems with, at wholesale of course. Bring it to Canada. Take it to my dealer who is totally...

Spyder RSS and very cold temps. Cold Start Temps to get out of garage.

Where about a in Saskatchewan are you. Regina here. I like the idea someone had about pushing it into the middle of the garage and covering it. Cutting wallboard is not going to be too dusty. It's not like you are going to be able to mud tape and sand until the spring anyway. I wouldn't want to...

    Sad day today

Last year I used Kleen-flo. I had zero problems with start up in the spring. I used to use it in all my recreational products. This year I used the XPS stuff the BRP dealer sells. I am sure it will be fine. It seems to be more concentrated than last years stuff as it requires less. That said it...

    Sad day today

Thanks everyone for your condolences. We are below zero every morning with thick frost. We have had our first snow fall already. I was able to ride in the afternoons. It was just time. As a side note for those of you with the SE5, I have two new filters, covers, and gaskets leftover from the...

    Sad day today

End of the riding season here. Filled the tank, put fuel stabilizer in. Took it for one last burn. Washed and polished it for the last time this year. Took all my gear out of it. Parked in the garage and covered for another winter until mid April. Now that I can't ride means I get to spend...

    How much torque?

Can someone tell me the torque specified for tightening the follow on an SM5? 1) Oil reservoir drain plug, 2) Engine oil drain plug, 3) Oil filter screws. I believe the Engine Oil drain plug is in the manual, can't find anything for the other 2. Thanks in advance for responses.

Spyder RT vs Goldwing Trike or Harley Tri Glide

EXACTLY Had to do some conversions to metric. I don't disagree with either of you. I have the RTS SM5. I make that same shift to 5th as you guys around 105 to 115 kmh. Divided highway speed limit up here is 110 kmh. I will sometimes do up to 130 to 145 kmh, and I am looking for the 6 the gear...

Spyder RT vs Goldwing Trike or Harley Tri Glide

Interesting Thread, I was at the HD dealer this morning looking. You like what you like. And you learn to like what you get used to. Goldwing trike is not my thing. Maybe when they are factory produced as a trike I would trust owning one from new. For me it would be the HD over the Honda. The...

    cruise control system

Love the cruise control on the RTS I use it every time I get on the highway for a long stretch. It disengages nicely and quickly. Before I disengage it, I roll on the throttle and then tap the brake so there isn't that sudden lurching from lack of throttle. The only time I turn it off is for a...

Sena SM10 and Bluetooth from the bike

Anything is possible with money. I use this: http://www.cardosystems.com/scala-rider/scala-rider-q1-teamset It lets you add two phones, GPS, FM radio, Bluetooth music devices, intercom, and invite a rider all at the same time and works on a priority system for one component over others. I...

A question suddenly occured to me on the highway last night.

The wife and I were out for a burn last night on the RTS to a small town for ice cream. It was a little chilly so I put my hand warmers on low. Then it occurred to me, the hand warmer switch is next to the emergency brake and front compartment switch. Soooo..... what happens if a rider that is...

    ANY THOUGHTS ON THIS ISSUE

My brakes occasionally squeal or maybe rub in reverse, when not applied. I am assuming it is the brakes, because when I apply the brakes in reverse the noise stops. Doesn't happen all the time. No problems in forward. Not sure why it is sometimes and not others. Any suggestions. 2012 RTS SM5...

    Beware of flying truck tires....

more than just the tires. I drive truck on my days of sometimes for fun. Yes for fun. If you had my job, you would understand why I think driving a truck is fun. If you stop the video before it hits the windshield you can see the tire didn't come off the wheel, rather the wheel and tires came...

    okay..now I a ticked

FIXED Sorry everyone, took me a while to get back. I love to ride so no such thing as a short trip. Problem corrected. A very small stone in the fan. Fan is running like normal. I will check the coolant level tomorrow. Don't think it will be a problem. The temperature today was 68 to 71 F. My...

yo are good.... So...went out to the garage....tried to turn the fan. You were right...wouldn't turn in either direction. I didn't force it but kind of turned it back and forth, and next thing I heard something fall out. Like a small stone. I was on some gravel road. small stretch, little less...
