• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Ryker 600 vs 900?

CHOICES Sarge, I have only ridden the 900, but I've spoken to a number of BRP staff that have ridden both and I think for the vast majority of the riders, especially the experienced riders the 900 will be the choice. I don't expect there to be much if any difference in top end speed, that is...

    Ryker on the Road!

Pricing I think this will be an MSRP selling bike for sure. Thanks for the compliment! I am the owner, janitor, plumber, handiman, salesman and sometimes even an additional tech at my shop. We are a BRP only dealer (with BRP since 2001), so I darned sure have no excuse but to be really good...

    No reverse

reverse It does have reverse, just like an ATV with a CVT has reverse. The driven clutch of the CVT powers a "gear box", a very simple gearbox that has only forward, reverse (selected via a lever above the left foot peg area) and a pin locked, manual "park". The park is neither forward or...

    Undressed Ryker Photos

Brake linkage. The brakes are not fly by wire, they are conventional hydraulic (but ABS). The difference from the F3 is the entire master cylinder moves with the foot peg assembly rather than a fixed mount and brake rod (F3). One of the videos I saw posted has the guy moving the right peg...

    Undressed Ryker Photos

belt Yes it is shaft driven from a gearbox that receives its rotation from a CVT (which is a belt running between two pulleys and acts as an infinite selection gear ratio unit) So.... YES there is a belt on this bike, and if you look at the pictures I posted you can see the big, black CVT...

    Ryker on the Road!

mark up There will definitely be a freight fee, possibly a prep fee from most dealers. I can tell you for certain that the "mark up" is very low (MSRP to dealer cost) so those will likely be added to pay the shipping and to pay to assemble it.

belt cover A CVT transmission uses a belt running between a drive and driven pulley. That Is what the belt cover is covering

    Undressed Ryker Photos

engine configuration Yes. The crank is aligned with the chassis, the CVT drive clutch runs straight off of it (see pictures from the rear) so there isn't much "loss", it goes thru the belt to the driven clutch pulley, which powers a very simple forward/reverse gear box. There is a lever on...

    Undressed Ryker Photos

Thought I'd post some pictures of an undressed Ryker that was on display at the dealer conference. You can see the belt cover pretty well in a couple of the photos, and how minimalist it really is. Very simple, very clever design

    Ryker Maintenance

The ACE platform provides longer oil change intervals and no valve adjustments necessary due to the unique valve spring hydraulic lifter cap design. Also, the front glove box is easily removed via push pin pulling and it exposes the valve cover, spark plugs and coil packs for very easy plug...

    Ryker Ykester!!!

access That funnel was to be able to add gasoline to the tank when filling from a jug. It has a cap-less fuel intake just like my F150 pickup, and unless you have a gas station style pump nozzle, it will be tough to add fuel without the little funnel to open the vent in system

    automatic and steep grades?

transmission hold back It sort of automatically has hold back as the CVT spools down on deceleration. That ends at/near idle and it free wheels. This is much more pronounced on an AVT, as they actually have a one way bearing on the clutch to create a ton of "hold back", but that would be...

    Ryker Ykester!!!

Mid speed accelleration That's a great observation and pretty darn accurate per the test ride. I am pretty darn sure the Ryker will beat an F3 to 50, maybe 60. After that the torque and transmission of the F3 would likely pull it past the Ryker in short order. I think only a turbo (or...

    Ryker Ykester!!!

Seat height Maybe if the aftermarket world comes up with a much higher seat... Yes, there is no way I can ride a pre REV sled anymore. My kids have older style sleds. I ride a couple laps around the field and I wonder how snowmobiling survived before the REV LOL :) I own an RS now. There...

    Ryker Ykester!!!

Seating position Well that might be a tough one for you, quite honestly. The seat height is so low and into the chassis that there is no room directly under you (like an RS). I started my demo ride with the pegs super close to me and it felt like I imagine a gynacologists chair does. I ended...

    Ryker Ykester!!!

Engine Rob, what engine is in our most powerful sxs, the X3? It's the turbocharged 900. And it is 172 hp trying to rapidly move a whole lot more weight than a Ryker using..... you guessed it, a souped up CVT. That package is the future of BRP performance, and it is already practically...

    Ryker Ykester!!!

Performsnce Got to disagree with you there firefly. I believe the F3 and RT will continue on as the "adult", refined tourers but performance will come from the Ryker line. My opinion comes from direct conversation from the engineering team at conference. And believe me, one ride on a 165hp...
