• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Ryker Ride in the Northeast in the dead of Winter

I know this isn't the place to post a ride, but in light of No one around me being able to ride due to weather constraints... I am thinking of trailering my Ryker to around Harrisonburg, VA Saturday night for a nice, long, Blue Ridge parkway ride on Sunday. That is where the closest...

Buying Ryker and need some imput

You do not have to have the dealer install them. If you are fairly mechanically inclined, have at it. Can Am has a nifty website: www.instructions.brp.com where you can type in the part number of the accessory you purchase and it will produce installation instructions and sometimes even an...

    Millennials and Harley Davidson

Our local HD dealer just got in a Spyder like front wheel conversion kit for a Harley. The cost is $16,000 plus install and paint (to match fenders). Reverse is an additional $2,000, and of course the customer supplied the motorcycle! It does allow the rider to lean it, and it hydraulically...

    Lamonster LED Headlight Bulbs

Kudos to Lamont on the LED headlight bulb upgrade for the Ryker. There really is NO COMPARISON to the stock bulbs. They are much brighter, much whiter and it dropped the voltage drop with/without headlight by a full 0.2v! That'll get you some accessory capacity!

What is this connector? Can I use it for a switched accessory power source?

Noooooo that is a direct connector for the ECM.. Look under the left colored body panel. you will find a power source there

Ryker front tires size is Proprietary! Thanks again BRP........

Leland, for your information, we actually make $8 MORE per wheel when mounting a customer supplied tire so...... there goes that theory. If you want to attack me personally for being a dealer, which I have never hid, then so be it. I can handle it. My point, after a decade of selling and...

Ryker front tires size is Proprietary! Thanks again BRP........

here's my 2 cents on the tires. First, BRP claims 40% better wear than the Spyders. I am guessing that is due to the lightness of the Ryker. Second, I would be very, very concerned about putting car tires on a Ryker. Car tires are expected to bear approx 1,000 lbs of downforce per tire. The...

    New Ryker Rally in Oklahoma

Welcome and congrats on the Ryker! One thing i have noticed from new Spyder/Ryker riders is that they tend to "hold on" a bit too hard in their early riding history and the tight grip on the bars allows their own bodies to move the bike around. i think you'll see that as you become more...

    Oil leak/venting on Ryker Rally

These are pure guess's but based on a lot of experience with Spyders and sleds.... 1. There is a cavitation "pump" (not what they call it) that is responsible for venting pressure from the crankcase up into the air box. That pump has an oil seal, and if it fails or is overwhelmed, it will...

Ryker Tool Kit for Distance riders

Some people need a ton of storage, others can ride across the country with a backpack. If you look at my bike picture above you'll see the side bag and a saddleman seat bag. The kit is really small, so I can put it all in one side compartment of the seat bag and use the rest for me. Perfect...

Ryker Tool Kit for Distance riders

Since it's really crappy/snowy here in Western Pennsylvania and I can't ride the Ryker I assembled a Tool kit for when I travel south to visit my daughter. It has the 65mm wheel socket (529036457) for if I have to remove the wheel and a garage/tire shop doesn't have it. Inside a small...

What better way to start this off

yes, it is separate. In fact, it is the warranty bulletin item mentioned elsewhere in the Ryker section. It runs in 75/90 or 75/140 gear oil, which is very different than the engine oil

Ok, Let's try this again from a different angle...

I don't think any of us "new" owners have enough miles on our Rykers to get a real sense of the mileage yet. (darn snow) It takes approx. 2,500 miles on it to get to the point of broken in. Talking to the factory guys that ran the demo trucks, they were seeing about 40 mpg under mixed riding...

    Ryker drive train

It will never change. It is literally a tolerance built into the drivetrain. It is more pronounced on their off road sxs's, a little less pronounced on their atv's.

What better way to start this off

My experience with oils is... as long as it meets the mfg's specs all is good. I think it is more important that the oil be changed within the correct mileage range. Especially with the BRP off road products I have seen guys who haven't changed their oil regularly end up eating timing chains...
