• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    LED TURN SIGNAL WARNING LIGHTS

I put mine behind the speaker grills. I posted this a few months back. Popped out the speaker grills and stuck on the LED strips and wired into the turn signals. (popped off the mirrors and fished the wire through). wasn't very hard. The LED's are the small 6 inch (I think) strips that come 2 to...

Second time riding experience on a Spyder

In our blood I have enjoyed motorcycling from a very young age. I think I was 13 or so. That was over 50 years ago and I get the same thrill riding now as I did then. I may have been without a bike two years out of all of this time. I believe that if it is in your blood it will always be there...

My wife enjoys the comfort of the RT. We have had many memorable trips together on it. It is a great ride.

    DESS Key code again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The ,11s as far as I know, don't have the DESS issue. That is a good bike. I had a '10 RTS that never had an issue in over 25,000 miles . I traded up to a '14 last year. Your getting almost a new spyder, great find. Enjoy.

    010 or 012 RT

I had a 2010 and at 25,000 miles I traded up for a '14. never had a problem with the 2010. But being a newer model the 2012 was a solid unit. Newer is better. '13 not so much unless the recall mods were done then I wouldn't have and reservations about getting one. Good bikes. Great fun.

    Goldwing to Spyder ...

You mentioned in your first post at being interested in a 2012 Spyder RT. I haven't seen anyone mention the difference is the 2014-2015's with the inline triple motor and 6 speed as opposed to the V twin High RPM 5 speed. I have owned both and can say without reservation of the benefits of the...

    Advice on a 2014 RT-S Purchase

My '14 RTS had the extended warranty thrown in by BRP, it was a new one but the '15's were on the floor. My dealer didn't know that the incentive from the factory was in affect at the time, it was not being advertised. I got the paperwork from BRP with the extended warranty just a couple of...

    2016 Spyder...what's your guess?

I'm not a fan of the Freedom trailer. Just my opinion though. That's why I kept my 2010 model 622 and rewired for the 14 RTS. I am fond of the double access lids and the room the 622 has. Besides the lights match my '14. Different strokes for different folks as they say. That makes the world go...

    DESS Key code again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Was at the dealer getting the rear tire replaced under warranty and when I went to leave the DESS code came up. Great timing! I left the switch in the on position so the screen kept the code showing and walked into the dealer and had the service manager look at it. the part is on order. When I...

    DESS Key code again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I got the first DESS problem last week, 4,000 miles on a '14 RTS. It did restart after turning the switch on and off about 3 or 4 times. Dealer says that BRP will not address the problem unless the problem can be duplicated at the dealer. Meaning it would have to fail leaving me stranded and...

    DESS Key code again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just happened to me today. DESS code. I guess it is my turn. was out on a short ride today and after about 45 miles I pulled over to make a phone call. upon restart I got the DESS code. I have read about this on the Forum so I did not panic but started running options through my mind on what...

Hooking up 2010 brp trailer to 2014 rts

The dealer can order the module and harness to convert the trailer to a 4 pin. I converted my 2010 trailer over this summer. The harness consist of the plug and play module that attaches to the spyder wiring harness and a pigtail that is run out with a 4 pin square plug connector. The trailer...

    Is that thing safe!

Is it safer than a Wing or any two wheeler? At the red light just tell them to "pick up our feet and see who falls over first" :roflblack:. That should settle it. I am sure all of us get the question "do you like that thing" or How does it handle? I was even ask if it steers with the rear,, I...

Go pro camera pro silver 3

mirror mount I just stuck it on top of the right hand mirror. used a fishing line for a safety run up to the dash and wrapped it around a screw. The 3M adhesive on those mounts has never come loose.

    fuel tank ?

I normally go 200 miles before getting gas. On occasion 210 or 220 but my light has come on a time or two. I love the mileage on the '14. It is cool running 100 miles or more on just a half a tank of gas.

3rd brake light on the trunk....

It is kind of funny when you think about what is important to us. Everyone has different priorities for our interest. My first RT had a 3rd brake light that I made out of two rows of cheap LED's and trimmed it with some stick on chrome. Did it work? yep but not as bright as it could have been...

Fingers crossed, new spyder rt hopefully.

The RT S is a great machine. You will enjoy for sure. By the time you buy you are right about the better pricing on leftover models. Every year when the new models arrive there will be some incentives on the previous models. Save up for your down payment.

    2013 recall work complete

On the 2010 RTS I had I cut out the lower holes to help cut the backdraft. I had looked at the '13 models and noticed they were cut out from the factory so I duplicated it on mine with a drill and jig saw. It worked well and looked fine. Cut down on the head buffeting for sure.
