• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

998cc 2010 RTS - unexplained quitting fixed & some Engine mods.

I performed the canister-ectomy. I re-vented the fuel tank and the fuel smell is gone. I brought a new line up high beside the frame and then down to reuse the overflow line that came from the charcoal canister. I joined the two of them with a fuel filter after I cut off the “U” part of the vent...

998cc 2010 RTS - unexplained quitting fixed & some Engine mods.

I replaced the plug wires with BajaRons' plug wires. I was not going to make that mistake again. Great product you have there Ron. They're super quality and a very flexible wire set. In just removing the old wires you can feel how stiff they are and how they crunch when moved and bent. Tim

998cc 2010 RTS - unexplained quitting fixed & some Engine mods.

Hey all... A long read but may help someone out... Well, I have finished up (for now anyhow) on the work I was doing on my wife’s 2010 RTS. I am scared to say this but I think I have resolved the problem. Knock-on-wood! Last year I replaced the sparkplugs in this bike. It really needed them...

Customer service - what do you do when you can't contact a vendor?

+1 :agree: It's great that you want to support local. God knows that the internet (E-Bay and Amazon, etc) has eaten up to many local shops. BUT, if they have not replied to you in a reasonable amount of time , I would go in face to face and get the refund and explanation. Some businesses seem...

Headlight bulb replacement - what are the bulb types?

All HID lights require a ballast. A ballast provides a very high voltage to the bulb to get the HID light to arc and once the current starts to flow, they turn down the voltage just enough to keep the arc going. All LED lights require a Constant Current Power Supply to drive them. No LED bulb...

Headlight bulb replacement - what are the bulb types?

My wife has a 2010 RTS. Last spring I replaced the headlights and fog lights with LED ones. Headlight - the common 9005 or a HB3 Fog (driving) light - is a H8 or H11 LED's make a great upgrade for both day and night use. Be very careful what you get. Not all bulbs are created equal in quality...

Fuel Tank Vent hose route needed... any pics?

Thanks for the reply EvilTwin... I decided to reuse part of the fuel evap system for the new tank vent. I added a new longer piece of hose to the fuel tank vent that I swooped up along the frame of the bike. This puts the top of that hose about 5 inches or so above the opening of the fuel...

Fuel Tank Vent hose route needed... any pics?

Hey Guys... So I am doing a bunch of work to my wife’s 2010 RTS. One of the things on the list is the canisterectomy. That being said, I am looking for the best spot to route the new fuel tank vent hose. I know some people route it to the front over the engine and others to the rear. The ones...
