• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

The reverse actuating cable passes right next to the oil filter cover. Check to see you have not damaged it in any way.

Are Spyder GS/RS Hard Saddlebags still available?

Yes. The Givi model # is PLX770. Can Am ones that you could buy were "quickly detachable" so you could quite easily remove most of the frame when not wanted. The Givi ones tend to be left on as more time consuming to remove. Givi also used to make frame set PL770 for the GS, RS, RSS. These...

To trailer, or not to trailer? That is the question. I'm downright torn.

I love my trailer . As long as I am going forwards. At times I have found it easier to disconnect it and push it if I want to back up. My '08 GS handles just the same with it on. The only time I have felt its presence was going down a steepish curvy road when the front brakes started to judder...

Are Spyder GS/RS Hard Saddlebags still available?

You can easily buy Givi V35 side bags but the Givi frames for the Spyder GS, RS, RSS are unobtainable. I recently bought what I believe to be the last set of new Givi frames for my GS from a dealer in Cape Town, South Africa. Used frames are also rare. The new frames I got cost $400CAD and the...

Anybody else have trouble putting in Speed Bleeders?

get of your high horse. It is a rare person that does not spread a little around. And, water is the best way to get the brake fluid us imperfect mortals spill, off anything. Brake fluid is soluble in water. no need for organic solvents.

2008 GS Trailer wiring - can I just tap into the bike's wiring?

All my trailer lights are LEDS and all my Spyder lights are incandescent. I had no problems with flasher speed, Stayed the same. Now the electrical system of my 08 GS is less sophisticated than the later models so maybe that helps.

990 spark plug removal - Do I really need to remove the air box?

I examine my plugs once a year, in the 6 month winter. Always take off the airbox to get at the front one. It is a pain but not much else to do when you can't ride.

2008 GS Trailer wiring - can I just tap into the bike's wiring?

I did just that with my 08GS. However, I did change all my trailer lights to LEDs so the power use would be minimal

Pull behind trailer tire air pressure

I use 15 lb in my small utility trailer with a cartop box bolted to it. It has 8" wheels. Never had a problem with its tires when loaded with spyder clothing and stuff for 2 people. It also has torsion suspension for each wheel.

    How old are you?

I'm trying to come to grips with my wife dying last month after 56 happy yrs together. I find it tends to take up all my time just surviving. I've had enough of doctors in the past 2 yrs to last a lifetime. I will make every though to be more careful and see my physiotherapist. Thanks.

    How old are you?

81 Tried to get up after kneeling down on my "good" knee. The thigh muscle was not as strong as I thought and I fell back onto the right angle of my concrete basement wall. My back is now covered in scuffs, scrapes and band aids. Life sucks sometimes. That is the second time I have fallen over...

Leaking Valve Cover Gasket? Is this common?

If it is the front cylinder valve cover gasket they say is leaking it might instead be dripping down from the airbox. Oil mist blows into the airbox and if there is quite a lot it dribbles out of the upper and lower half join and runs down onto the front valve cover.
