• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Looking for Spyder riders in Oklahoma

Oklahoma Nothing personal Ron, but back in April we rode 412 from the NM line to Tulsa and then 75 up to Bartlesville before heading east to Spyderfest. Unless you guys build a 50 ft high wall to stop the wind from TX, Oklahoma is a state I'll not ride thru again, intentionally anyway. It...

1 gal Roto Pax I'd like to see a pix of a 1 gallon Roto Pax laying flat in the RH saddle bag of 2012 RT-S. Mine won't, but it fits just fine if I jack it up in the air a bit by putting my frogg togg pouch under it. I carry a 2 gallon Roto Pax in the front most part of my RT-622 trailer laying...

    trailer lights wiring harness

2012 RT-S with 2010 Trailer My '12 RT-S came with the 4-square plug on the bike, but the '10 trailer had the 7 wire round harness. I picked up a 4 square trailer harness off eBay for $20 and married it to the trailer wiring. The trailer had amber bulbs in both of the clear sections of both of...

    Spyder Sighting

I'm from south central Kentucky but ride a red '12 RT-S with a 622 trailer. Left there March 30th for Spyderfest but musta made a wrong turn someplace and wound up in Vegas. Finally realized I was going the wrong direction and headed back east. Currently in Bartlesville, OK and headed toward...

What prep for your Spyder in advance of Spyderfest?

I just decided to ride my '12 RT-S a few miles first, so we took off the 31st of March for a "Southwest Tour". Went as far west as Vegas and currently in southeastern Utah with 3,731 miles since leaving KY. Monument Valley is next and then across the bottom of Colorado and Kansas toward Tulsa...

2011 - Additional Benefit from Exhaust Wrapping

I've wrapped the pipes on my '12 RT and will put a gutted Cat on in place of the original Cat. Would it be any benefit to wrapping the (3) short sections of pipe on the Cat? And what about some sort of insulation around, or at least on the top of the "box" itself? Mike in KY

    New Air Filter

I just finished wrapping my exhaust pipes and gutting the Cat. Put in a K&N filter from Ron and then proceeded to cut the resonator off the intake pipe. Patched the roughly 2" square hole in the intake pipe and then wire tied it to the bracket with the two rubber grommets that position the...

    Fuel container ????

I just went to the RotopaX eBay store and bought factory seconds. A (1) gallon for a saddle bag and a (2) gallon for the RT-622 trailer, along with (2) conventional spouts, like Scotty and 2Paw suggested. We'll take both on this next 5K+ trip thru TX, NM, and on to Vegas. Having extra gas...

Any recommendations for what to use on the road in case of a flat tire?

Has anyone ever considered using the on-board compressor to blow up a tire after it was plugged? I'm thinking like maybe a 6' hose with female connectors on both ends with some sort of shutoff valve in between. Plug one end on to the Schrader valve under the seat and the other end onto the...

    LH Front Panel Removal - '12 RT-S

My guess is that Bob was having a senior moment late on a Thursday night. The "a" key is too far away from the "u" key to have been a typo. But after 36K+ posts, the man's fingers have to be near worn out. I wound up removing what I'm calling the "doghouse" tupperware and leaving the actual...

    Powdercoat Questions

I intend to re-powdercoat all the typical castings on my 2012 RT-S flat black, including the handlebar cover and the windshield bracket. And here's some questions for you folks that have already done it yourselves or had it done. 1. Did you remove the bushing in the shifter pedal and if so...

4 Year Old Toyo Proxes 4

Maybe all those threads I was reading about the Toyo Proxes 4 being a good choice were several years old too and I didn't notice. So what do you folks suggest as a good replacement rear tire. With what's at stake here, I'm not real worried about saving a couple bucks. What's the current Toyo...

4 Year Old Toyo Proxes 4

Folks, Yesterday I picked up a Toyo Proxes 4 from a local dealer who got it from some warehouse. Mfg code is "98L2610" which tells me the tire was made the last week in June of 2010! I'm not too thrilled about paying $125 + tax for a near 4 year old tire. Should I be concerned? Naturally...
