• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Minutes away from owning a Spyder RT but I have questions

To me this is interesting to hear. I was told by the dealer that sold me the used Spyder that since I did not have a lot of experience riding a 2 wheeler (just dirt bikes and nothing on the road), rode more 4 wheelers then 2 wheelers, that I should adjust to the feel of the Spyder. It took about...

    Fuel leak on start up

gassy marshmallows - sounds yummy. :opps: Good thing that this leak was found before it started burning the tupperware and all of the farkles. Hopefully you can trailer the Spyder to the dealer so that another cold start and leaking gas can be avoided.

What are peoples reaction when they see a Spyder?

Expect everything. From cool, to what is that, to I wouldn't drive that. I have had only positive face to face discussions. And be prepared to add 5-10 minutes to your ride if you stop anywhere, as some people will ask you all about your Spyder. Now I have been snubbed by some Harley riders -...

Minutes away from owning a Spyder RT but I have questions

If you want to keep riding, and feel like you want to try something new and will not give up too quickly, then go for it. I purchased one because my wife said "OK - that is something that you can have". She was totally against a motorcycle (not like I was pushing for one), but the Spyder...

    I'll keep my -11 RT...

I saw this thing drive through my area in Sept '13. It was several cars away and I could not figure out what it was. It looked pretty cool and before I could catch up to it, it went through an intersection that I got stopped at the red. From what I saw and heard - it sounded like a motorbike and...

    Ryno

Wow. There are 4 components to that uni. Tank, handle bars, engine and tire. No room for a nanny on that thing. Wonder how difficult it is to balance on it while riding down a road?

    Ryno

And at a blinding max speed of 10 mph - hang on to your helmet. That begs the question - why do they show people with a motorbike helmet? All you would need is a regular bicycle helmet. I think the price tag is a little high for a "walking" unicycle.

    waiting for a call

I have a 2008 Spyder, and I use to get "swamp ass" because of the heat from the seat. So I did some research and found that they have beaded seats for this issue. Take a look at this site - http://www.beadrider.com/ Did not purchase one, but modified a car bead seat to fit my Spyder and its...

    PROPANE STICKER SHOCK

You win. :firstplace: When I was young, I was the official wood carrier for my parent's house. They used about 4-5 cords a year, and my older brother and I would each be cutting 5 cords of wood each summer and my father would be running the wood splitter. Free labor and neighbor's...

    PROPANE STICKER SHOCK

Sorry to hear that. I rented a trailer (never AGAIN) and it was on propane. The company (only one that delivered in the area) were impossible to deal with. And I will NEVER deal with them again - no matter what propane company. I would rather have to go to a gas station and buy kerosene in 5...

    Weight limits

If Shaq can ryde a Spyder - so can you. https://www.facebook.com/KentPowersports/posts/192145307588000 I'm 6' and 330 - I have had my son on the back with me and he is 180. So we have exceeded the weight limit - I have to agree with the privates smashed on the tupperware - I cannot push the...

    Almost Human...good or bad show?

Watch out - when the show does not get renewed for season 2, your HD buddies will ask if the same will happen to your Spyder. I watch the show, and agree that its OK - but like most, do not think that it will make it to season 2.

    Retirement advice needed

Sorry - couldn't help it. My wife's cousin use to call me Jethro (from Beverly Hill Billies) and asked me about my cement pound. But then again he called one of his sister's boyfriends a bowl licker, since he liked to lick the bowl after the young lady's mother was finished mixing dough for...

    Retirement advice needed

I had to re-read your post. Cop twice and Donut maker once. Hhhmmmmm? Did you get harassed about that? :roflblack: Believe me - my figure says that I like donuts too much. My wife has a cousin that is an RCMP officer, and I ALWAYS ask him where the best donut places are. He use to harass me...

    NEED HELP

I had never ridden a 2 wheeler, and the dealer that I purchased my used Spyder from let me test drive the Spyder in his parking lot. Find a dealer that will let you test drive one in a parking lot - or find an event that will allow people that do not have a motorcycle endorsement on their...

    Motorcyclist 2014 Spyder Article

I'm with you. I have been on 4 wheelers, dirt bikes - but never on a Road Motorcycle. The dealer that I test drove a Spyder at asked me if I rode before, I said "nope" and he said that was a good thing because I would not have to fight the habits that a 2 wheel driver has. The test drive was...

-51F riding video, yeah its not the coldest ride I have had this year

This coming from a guy in Alberta means that he is the winner. I was in Fort McMurray, Alberta (5 hours north of Edmonton) in '94 when it got to -45C (or -45F its too close to tell the difference) and that was cold, but I did not ride anything - my job was working at an oil refinery and I had to...
