• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

HowTo: 5 1/4" Rear Speaker Mod on a 2014 RT

The Music source was an iPod, song was Hands Up by Honeymoon Suite. My original plan was to put the Kickers in the rear but their foot print was to big. I had the 528's in the front so I just swapped them.

    5 1/4" Speakers

Yes this is from DJFanin, I have sent off a PM to him to see if he put the oem grills on... I haven't given up yet! :roflblack: I've also had the thought that cutting a slot into the vertical pieces enough for the speaker edge to slide under would give a little more clearance. Rainy day here...

    5 1/4" Speakers

In the photo attached you can see that the speaker hangs over 2 edges. The sides of the speaker grills lay flush against these sides...

    5 1/4" Speakers

I did look at beadaholics but the video is very dark and I can't see if she left the grills on or not. I'm not interested in removing the stock grills... I have read another post where they grinded down the sides of the speakers to make it fit, not really sure what that would do to the integrity...

    5 1/4" Speakers

Hey Mike or DJFaninTN Were you guys able to get the rear speaker grills back on over the 5 1/4" speaker? From the pic DJFaninTN posted (below) I can't see how it's going to fit. The speaker is hanging over 2 edges... I have it on my work bench right now and haven't started cutting yet as I...

I've had Elka Stage 2 shocks front & rear for 4 years / 40,000+ miles and have no problems with them. Great improvement over the oem shocks!

    5 1/4" Speakers

Hey Mike, I am eagerly awaiting my set of 5 1/4" Kicker PS5250 speakers to arrive! Thanks for the tip, I think they'll sound good with my GTO 528's. Just looking for some advice on how you went about securing the larger speaker to the speaker box after enlarging the hole. I've looked at the...

Thanks for the speaker info Mike! I have checked out her post, yours and a couple others that have given me the confidence to do this mod. I will post once I have completed with pics & most likely a step by step video to help the next person!

    5 1/4" Speakers

I'm going to be doing the mod a few have done and replace the rear speakers with 5 1/4" speakers on my 2014 RT-Ltd. A couple years ago I replaced the front speakers with JBL GTO528's and the rear with oem size J & M speakers. I just added an Kenwood KAM-1814 amp. The JBL GTO528's sound amazing...

    Aftermarket fender lights/turn signals

When I did mine I replaced both the side & rear facing reflectors with light/turn signals. I cut both of the wires from the lights and joined them to a single set of wires and ran them to the mirror keeping the paired connection under top reflector cap. Soldered it & put some heat shrink over...

Ideas Of The Best Cat Performance Pipes?

I also have the stage 2 flash and changed out the cat & OEM muffler for Lamontster's cat delete pipe & Akrapovic silencer running no baffles in the pipe on my 2014 RTL. Love the sound, louder, deeper but not obnoxious.

    And yet ANOTHER cat question

This is what I use, works great! I also squeeze the opening of the spring for the side that mounts on the bike to just small enough opening that I can get it on. This way the spring doesn't keep falling off while your stretching it onto the pipe.

    Spyderpops Bump skid users ?

Totally :agree: Riding through the mountains last year in a heavy storm and got caught in a rock slide. Hit a rock about twice the size of a softball at about 40 mph. Once clear of the rock slide I pulled over expecting some major damage to my front end. Small dent in the bumpskid, not a scratch...
