• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Any Tips for reducing road trip costs?

So, just FYI.... I did my trip. 7 days, 2500 miles -- 8 states, 1 province, 2 countries, many national forests, and zero issues with the bike. Went up into Canada, across a chunk of the TCH and around Lake Huron, back down through Port Huron, and southward toward home. Canada was great because...

Any Tips for reducing road trip costs?

Thanks everyone for the suggestions. I did finally find my camping gear, so I've got my Sierra Designs ultralight tent set up downstairs to air out, and the blow-up pad works. :2thumbs: Not sure if I'm up to sleeping on the ground at this point, but I figure I can give it a shot at least once...

Any Tips for reducing road trip costs?

I'm trying to plan a week long road trip up and around lake michigan and back home, and the biggest hurdle seems to simply be cost. I know the basic route, roughly which city to shoot for each day, and what roads to take to stay off the interstate and just cruise along enjoying the scenery. I...

Air Hawk seat didn't do it for me.

FWIW, if you want to try something else, I really like the ButtBuffer cushion. https://buttbuffer.com/

    My BEST warranty experience

Agreed. I unfortunately had purchased the warranty from the dealer for $1700. Found out about the deal with iMotorsports a year later, cancelled the one purchased through the dealership and purchased a new one from him, got a prorated refund of the other one, and still came out about $500 ahead!

Ever taken the ferry between South Baymouth, Ontario, and Tobermory?

Ok, I'm missing something... what is "Chi-Cheemaun"? Is that a nickname for the ferry, or the lake, or what? :dontknow:

Ever taken the ferry between South Baymouth, Ontario, and Tobermory?

I'm thinking of taking the long way home next time I'm in Iowa, by going up into Canada, across the trans Canada highway, and then take the ferry south as I make my way back into Michigan heading to Missouri. The ferry looks like a nice change of pace, but I've never taken a motorcycle or...

Can Am has a secret weapon to increase and add riders to their family!

I attended one of those events while my RT was still on order last year. They gave out a $500 coupon to apply to any new purchase, and I was able to apply that to the bike I already had on order. It was my first true test ride of the style I'd ordered, and a little discount to boot! It was...

Dealer says Rain triggered Limp Mode & VSS Fault? Is this true?

I know I know. And I did actually think about that when the rain started. I kept it off for a long time. I didn’t start using it until the rain was really nearly done. I made sure I wasn’t seeing any standing water or anything anywhere. But if that was the problem I certainly won’t use it unless...

Dealer says Rain triggered Limp Mode & VSS Fault? Is this true?

I honestly didn’t notice any lack of traction or slip while riding. But I can see how maybe the computer noticed something I did not. I also don’t think I was against the brake. My hands were chilly but the rest of me was perfectly comfortable. I was relaxed and warm in my riding gear and rain...

Any 2020-2023 RT Tall Riders out there?? Need advice?

I'm on a 2022 RTL, 6'6" I did put a Corbin seat on it, which is more comfortable for me. Haven't put on highway pegs because they don't seem like I'd get much out of them I love the top case. I like to be able to put a helmet, laptop bag, whatever, in there. :)

Dealer says Rain triggered Limp Mode & VSS Fault? Is this true?

No, they weren't interested in me even bringing it in. Just said if it's running fine now, there's nothing to look at. I need a new dealer.

Dealer says Rain triggered Limp Mode & VSS Fault? Is this true?

Is that something I can check or prevent? I'm halfway mechanically inclined, but all I've had to do is an oil change and hook up a GPS so far. I don't know all the ins and outs. :)

Dealer says Rain triggered Limp Mode & VSS Fault? Is this true?

I did get the brake light switch recall done. I don't think I was touching the brake pedal, because I've been warned about that from people who had it happen. I was amazed when the service tech implied that riding in the rain caused the problems. Hence my question and concern. :)

Dealer says Rain triggered Limp Mode & VSS Fault? Is this true?

So today I was on the interstate, in the rain for about 100 miles on I-35. Temp was about 70 degrees, light but steady rain shower. I did have the heated grips on low because I only had mesh gloves and they were soaked and a little cool. Otherwise, I was cruising along just fine, enjoying the...

Don't use a Torx when you should use an Allen

I've seen a surprising number of youtube videos that explicitly tell you to use a Torx instead of a 6 mm. :gaah:

2022 Comfort Seat isn't! Any more comfortable suggestions?

I put a Corbin on my 2022RTL. Huge improvement, a little wider than stock, etc. I've always upgraded to Corbin seats so I'm used to them. I considered the Russel but didn't want to ship the seat off to be modified. This way I can just put the stock seat back if I ever sell the Spyder.
