• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Roho Air Hawk Cruiser Motorcycle Seat Cushion

Another endorsement for the Air Hawk. Alone, it makes a stock seat tolerable. Atop a custom seat (like my Ultimate), I'm able to ride all day long.

is this gentelman a member of this forum, good review

Excellent review, captured my feelings from my demo ride. One thing I learned: I did not know the backrest worked like that, VERY neat. Makes me wonder if that mechanism can be used to add a top rack to the bike? (Like others, the lack of storage is really the only thing that I...

Blind spot indicators on newer vehicles

I said sorta this in another thread when replying to Bob, but the nice thing about blind-spot monitoring (which I love, BTW) is that it tells you at a glance when it's NOT safe to go. Light's on, don't bother merging, plan an alternative course of action. Plus, there have been a number of...

Trying to get a handle on it

I'm a weird one in that I rode motorcycles/dirt bikes for a VERY brief time when I was a kid, goofing off-street. I didn't properly learn how to ride, just thinking it was a big bicycle, i.e. nobody taught me about countersteering. I wasn't very good, and didn't have any real fun. I put it...

I had a Serious accident on my new F3!

Joining with everyone in the prayers for recovery. If I may ask-- you say you got road rash on your back and legs, yet you were wearing gear. Did the gear fail? Burn through? Or did it ride up/down? The last has me paranoid lately. I've got jackets and riding pants, but they're all...

Minor yet vital observation from my demo ride RE: F3 mirrors

Yup, definitely always stick on the little mirrors, all my rides get them. But that's $5 to make the F3 mirrors better, versus $80+ to make the RS ones usable. Bob, I *always* trust my mirrors-- to tell me when it ISN'T safe to go! I never change lanes without a head check, but the mirrors...

It's Springtime - Watch Out For Road Hazards

Heh, good point. "Fallen" rocks makes more linguistic sense. BTW, in keeping with the theme... the potholes this year are the worst I've seen in the 23+ years I've lived in Washington. Some stretches are just buckled washboard and gravel, just brutal. Uncomfortable on the Spyder, but scary...

Minor yet vital observation from my demo ride RE: F3 mirrors

One thing I forgot to add a little thing to my demo ride review-- http://www.spyderlovers.com/forums/showthread.php?79388-I-rode-the-F3! The F3's mirrors are excellent right out of the gate. Considering one of the first purchases I made on my RS was to fix the useless mirrors with aftermarket...

    Friend pointed this out today

What's interesting about these stats is there can be so many reasons for them. Poor reliability? I can see that. But *why*? Bad opinion of the machine? 2008 owners might feel that way, having suffered through the DPS error days. Bad opinion of the manufacturer? 2013 owners might feel that...

    replacement windscreen RS

5'10" but sit high in the saddle on an Ultimate Mid-Rider seat. I first ran a 22" dark smoke Madstad, but eventually moved to a 24" Madstad, extended fully. My eyes see just over the shield, no interference. Very little wind at all, happy as a rider can be!

Neoprene Motorcycle Grips vs Foam Grips

I've had both, if I have a choice I'd go neoprene every time. The foam grips will tend to swell up and split when they get wet. Still usable, just not very pretty!

    I rode the F3!

After four wonderful years happily riding my 2010 RS, all I can say is, holy :cus: would I get a lot of tickets on an F3. :2thumbs: Did a demo ride this afternoon at Coleman Powersports in Falls Church (shout out to a great BRP event on an otherwise cold & dreary day). The nicest thing was the...

What interest rate is BRP offering right now on their financing?

Thanks all! Like I said, was just curious. Obviously, BRP was advertising competitive rates through the fall, but now they've got zip on their site, was wondering what the SL crowd was hearing from their dealers lately.

What interest rate is BRP offering right now on their financing?

The Can-Am site isn't showing any financing promotions right now, so just curious what folks are being quoted on, say, the F3. My credit union is embarrassingly awful on motorcycle loans these days, so I'm pretty sure BRP can beat them by a mile...

Heads Up on F3 Passenger Backrest

Wow... That's quite possibly the most insignificant recall I believe I've ever seen issued. Thing is, I fear there will be folks who see this and make a special trip to their dealer to fix this vice buying a $2 tube of glue and doing it themselves. :joke:

    Saddle Bag I found

15 litres has got to be a typo-- those don't look THAT small, about the same size as the tiny F3 bags (which are ostensibly *50* litres... riiiight). P.S. You can find them cheaper elsewhere it seems... Google around! http://www.classiccruiser.com/product.asp?item=464997#tab-reviews

    "nanny"

Also, to add: EVERYBODY should set off their Nanny at least once to know how it feels when it happens. My sure-fire way: full-lock donuts in a parking lot. Even shifted all the way to the inside, hanging off almost like I'm riding a sidecar hack, the fastest I can go is ~10-15 mph before the...

    "nanny"

Handy tips to shush the Nanny: 1. "Lift and shift": move your butt on the seat to the inside of the turn, forward on the seat, push your head forward like you want to kiss the mirror, press your inside knee against the tank, and push off with your foot on the outside peg. Every little bit of...

New bag from Corbin for the F3 (Sneak Peak)

All opinion following... While I personally have never been a fan of the bulky/huge Corbin bag "look"-- and even less a fan of their pricing-- they're certainly outstanding quality products. The question is whether these will be any cheaper than the BRP bags? Given how overpriced...

Can an RS be made a comfortable cruiser for 2

I have an Ultimate seat with both backrests, plus Rivco passenger flootboards. About as comfy for a passenger as an RS can be. That said, the trouble with two-up touring on an RS is there's just no room for stuff like there is on an RT, saddlebags aren't easy to use with a...
