• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    i hate radar traps

Fun fact: Virginia has "speed checked by aircraft". Signs have been here for years. Guess how often speed is actually checked by aircraft? Effectively never. http://jalopnik.com/5886845/heres-where-you-can-ignore-speed-limited-enforced-by-aircraft-signs Now, things may have changed since...

    Most Harleys don't wave anymore

Went on an impromptu group ride this past weekend-- three Harleys, two Bimmers, one Ducati, and me on my Honda. We all waved at each other. :D The fun part was riding along and seeing a few Spyders out there. I waved the biggest goofy wave I could at them. Even though I was on two wheels...

What Should CanAm Have made Stock ?

Gee, go away for a while, and the asylum inmates go nuts. :D Personally? I'm not sure I want ANY of these stock, the Spyder is expensive enough as it is. If anything, some of these should already be standard given the price BRP charges us. That said, I know most of the folks here have owned...

    Spyder Sightings

Saw a Yellow GS riding on Kings Highway near the Huntington Metro in Alexandria, Virginia, at 1:30 pm today.

Would *you* have sold the bike?

Thanks everybody for the kind words and strong opinions. I'm still torn about my call, but that's what happens with gut calls... :doorag:

Would *you* have sold the bike?

Had myself a little moral dilemma this morning. Readers know I bought myself a new motorcycle a few weeks ago, a Honda CB500F-- that I'm loving, BTW!-- which necessitates me selling my little Ninja 250 (GF won't let me keep *three* bikes in the driveway, I don't blame her, we we're getting to...

    Fuel Additives

Only thing I ever add is Sta-Bil if the bike is going to be sitting for a while (weeks) without running. Everything else is a scientifically-proven waste of money. :coffee:

    Wow! Now have SMOOTH shifting!

It didn't-- it's just getting rid of the oil used during the break-in. The same happened with my RS, the same just happened with my CB500; especially with the Honda-- from the time I started riding it until I got to 600 miles I could feel the shifting get sloppier with each passing mile (would...

    NANNY EXPERIENCES

I can ride pretty spiritedly without setting the Nanny off-- helps having a better sway-bar and aftermarket shocks. That said, there's no fun in staying on the good side of the Nanny, i.e. I set it off pretty frequently in the twisties, to the point that I've modified my riding to *incorporate*...

Project Road Warrior Foundation Spyder F3 build

Wait, refresh my memory-- is this the bike you won, Lamont? Because if it is, I knew you said you'd be making some modifications, but to lose that outstanding digi-cam paint job makes me sad... :(

    I need more power, Scotty!

Bob, I agree, but I think you're being too narrow in your verdict. It's one thing to get 600cc sport, let alone a liter supersport bike, power out of a 1330 triple lugging around the F3's weight. I agree, that can't be done, and chasing that dream is fool's gold. But there's a wiiiiiiddddddde...

Burn notice for F-3s Paras and those without feeling in legs

So sorry to hear this. That said, the above verdict is right-- Chucks are not viable riding shoes, not even on a trike where you don't have to put your feet down. Bikes are not cars, bikes get hot. If you're having trouble finding a boot that fits and is easy to take on and off, consider...

    The Road Warrior Spyder

I hope I win it, but like everyone, I'm just happy to contribute to such a worthy cause.

    F3 or Yamaha r3?

You won't regret the Spyder, either the F3 or the RS. For two-up riding, neither bike is as comfortable as an RT, but that doesn't mean a thing when it comes time to have fun!

    BIG QUESTION

I'll ditto the endorsement of Webbikeworld, just a fantastic resource for not only helmets but *all* things motorcycle. As for helmets, I don't have much experience with modulars-- I'm on my third Shoei Qwest full-face, with earplugs it's *exceptionally* quiet-- but from other riders, I know...

    F3 or Yamaha r3?

As a very happy RS owner who recently did a demo on the F3... you really owe it to yourself to test ride both. They've VERY different machines, and each arrives at "fast and fun" in different ways. The F3 isn't enough to make me sell my RS, but if I was buying my first Spyder, I'd really...

My Spyder Has A New Friend...

It's been a real eye-opener in comparison to my Old Crappy Ninja (TM). It just *works*-- fuel-injected, quiet as a whisper, torquey and smooth as butter. I know the new Honda 500s and the 700 get dinged by reviewers who call them soulless and boring-- Honda motorcycles, brought to you by the...

My Spyder Has A New Friend...

New 2014 Honda CB500F... picked her up Saturday. Intent is to replace my 2007 Ninja 250 once I can move that bike on Craigslist (GF isn't happy there are now THREE bikes in the driveway... I told her I can't help it, they keep following me home! :joke:). Anyway, I've been surprised at how much...

    Madstad

FINALLY got a chance to look at the F3 install-- for some reason, the pictures weren't coming up at work (not that I would ever look at a personal site at work ). Anyway... I'm kinda iffy on the looks, myself. The Madstad has always been a bit of an ugly duckling-- you can't pretty...

    Tunes on the F3

Lamont, I'm going to assume the answer is obviously no, but just to confirm-- you can still go full lock-to-lock on the handlebars with those installed, right? Looks a little tight...
