• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

What panels need to be taken off to do the Brake switch recall?

Hi Mikey, The dealership is fairly new, only 6 months, just worried about the plastics. They have many other dealerships so they have people who know the basics I assume. They will not let me have the parts to do it myself as it is a safety recall. The dealer I bought the bike from...

What panels need to be taken off to do the Brake switch recall?

I have a 2021 S2S. Got a booking at the dealer for the brake switch recall. Does anyone know how much plastic bodywork has to be removed to do the job. I would rather remove any myself before it goes in so I know it is done properly and stored safely. Thanks, Alan.

Anyone else found an RT without the wire for lower front Auxiliary light?

The wiring is not fitted to European and British bikes as the lights are illegal here, same as the front accent lights are illegal.

Does anyone have/carry an ICE - In Case of Emergency - Capsule?

The ICE tag that I use is about 1in by 2in and opens up to a usb thumb drive on which you can record loads of information. I am on 15 different daily tablets and there is room for much more information you may want medics to know about. I have had mine for over 10 years but they are still...

2020 RT Ltd Cruise Control doesn't work - intermittently - any hints?

In 8 years of owning RTs and many years before that on Goldwings I have never switched the cruise control off, I leave it on permanently. Whenever I need CC I just select it. Never had any problems with that system through doing that.

RT Ltd Suspension fault - does it have a Schrader valve? Where? Ideas?

As spyderdave explained except that on my S2S I fitted a 6in flexible Schrader extension to the valve. I leave this permanently fitted, I double it back and tuck the end in beside the original valve. It's very handy for checking the pressure or topping up in case of pump failure or other...

Any ideas/advice on raising foot boards 6" for driver?

Raising footboards. I had the same problem with my 2021 Sea to Sky. I obtained some aluminium blocks 2 at 6in square by 1in thick and 2 at 1in by 2in 6in long. I measured in 1/2in in from each end and marked the distance between the footboard bolts. On one side drilled 10mm clearance holes and...

A question - what's the best way to lubricate all the cables?

Most modern cables have a silicon liner that the wire runs in. Manufacturers of these cables do not recommend any form of lubrication as it gives dust and dirt something to stick to.

Throttle Tension - can it be changed?

Throttle grip. I had a similar problem on my S2S. I had Grip Puppies on so used the old trick of inserting pencils or similar rods between the puppie and original grip to line up with the base of your fingers or any crease on your palm or both. This allows you to keep the throttle steady...

    Rear tire installed.

Running in tires. Slice, are you aware that for good tire life and performance all manufacturers recommend running in tires at reasonable speeds for around 200 miles or more.

How do you handle different tire pressure readings?

Balancing air pressure. I have made up a simple balancing rig for my front tyres. A length of plastic tubing with a tyre valve chuck at each end with a "T" piece in the middle. The other end of the "T" has another length of tube fitted with a tyre valve in so when I add air both tyres go to the...

What was BRP Thinking on the 2022 models and placement of the brake pedal?

Short legs. I replaced my 2016 RT for a new 2021 S2S, the deal was done over email as the dealer is over 180 miles away. When I went to collect the bike I was not able to get on due to short legs and bad hips even though I had no trouble in the 5 years I had the RT. The solution was to make up...

Which side is the hex, which side the torx Oil change plugs?

I am doing the first oil/filter change on my S2S. Due to problems with bending, I am getting a friend to remove the oil drain plugs, he is a qualified motor tech. Just so I hand him the correct tools, when sitting on the bike which side is the hex. and which side is the torxs head. I will be...

Is it feasible to fit an easier Direction Indicator switch?

Clarification. Maybe I didn't make it clear in my initial post. The problem with the switch is that my thumb is immobile, so I have to take my hand off the grip to operate the switch with one of my fingers, which I do not consider safe in traffic and as you all know this is the worst indicator...
