• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

What do like about your Spyder

W has had her 08 GS since new. We built it from base to an RT alternate, bags, rear trunk, cruise, Russell seat, etc. I ended up doing all the test rydes after whichever thing we added, and got quite comfortable hopping from my Beemer to the Spyder and back. Sorta knew at some level I would have...

    feeling unstable

++1 for Ron’s comment. We also did the laser alignment. WORLD of difference! Now I can dive into corners as good as I used to on my Beemers. Tire pressure also makes a huge difference. Start at 18 psi in the fronts. 28 rear.

Need some input of Bluetooth headsets

BT is good. We went SCHUBERTH route (collar fits base of helmet) - longer battery life, good range, great sound. Cheap? Nope, but neither were the helmets, which fit our heads better than most.

    Fog Lights

    How cold will you ride?

Cold ryde Personal record was 6-below - open face shield would freeze eyeballs, closed would steam/ice up. 10-above has been my usual limit, thanks to heated grips, Aerostich suit w/layers under, winter gloves. My RT-S is warmer than my Beemers were, but ice and salt this season has kept Raven...

    Taller windshield, help or hindrance

Had similar on my RT. Got the BRP vented shield. Not only fixed my apparent issue, also smoothed out W’s ride on the back.

Unable to connect Schuberth Bluetooth helmet to 2018 Spyder

I suggest a call to SCHUBERTH customer service - 949-215-0893. I have found them very helpful and knowledgeable. Keep us posted.

    Helmet question

Full face or modular are my only options. Had a crash a few years back that would have ruined my 'good looks' had I not had the protection. That said, wear what fits YOU. If you have a well-fitting HJC . . . Try others, of course. Ill-fitting doesn't cut it long-term. We have Schuberths...

How is it possible for some of you to get all that mileage on your Spyder

Some of us cheat - I am retired, However, I put a lot of miles (30k one year) just by riding - including commuting - before retiring. In most weather. Then there was the Glacier trip, then the Canadian Rockies trip . . .

    Looking for purchase advice

For your budget, a used RS/GS would fit nicely, plus would leave some cash for farkeling. I just happen to have one available. AND I AM LOCAL! May be a few days before we can get it out (the ice has to melt). PM me if interested. Happy shopping.

    RT stick or automatic

how do you ride? Your riding style may make a difference. Both are proven systems. For riding in traffic, SE wins in our book. For oozing along in slow sections, left hand can get tired. For hard riding, maybe the SM. Have ridden both. Liked em both. Got great deal (on the color I really...

"The Circle Tour" ride around Lake Superior

Yes Have done the tour several times. Once in 2 days, but prefer taking longer. We prefer th clockwise run. Several to many stops/side trips depending on tastes. Rainbow Falls, between Thunder Bay and Marathon, is well worth a stop, get off and short hike. Oh, if you haven’t been to High...

    headset

Is it the BRP CB? Something else? Does the :f_spider: have a plug-in near the switches (or elsewhere)? BRP CB kit requires a headset (I think J&M will work, also) as it does not play thru the speakers.

    Heated gloves vs grips

We do both. Reasons above. The passenger handles are heated, too (at least on ours). Gloves are nice on longer rides so I can take a hand off to relax.
