• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    shifting solenoid replacement

When was an oil and filter change last performed? (ie. How many miles ago?) A stopped up transmission filter can cause shifting problems I've read several times already. How many miles are on your Roadster? I'm sometimes see the shift solenoids listed on Ebay, they shouldn't be too hard to...

    Brake Malfunction warning?

The fluid level sensors get triggered well before you reach the Min levels... it's a design problem, IMO. The sensors should have been lower than they are, and the message should be better worded too BRP! If you haven't tried adding just a little more fluid to both chambers, you should! Mine...

BRP 1" riser/spacer plate for 2012 and older RS's... wow!

This is a pic of that riser plate (it comes with 3 longer bolts to install it): It sits on top of the existing steering column plate (which looks just like it but thinner and made out of steel) and then the handlebar sits on top of this aluminum spacer plate. The longer bolts accommodate the...

BRP 1" riser/spacer plate for 2012 and older RS's... wow!

ps. My Avatar pic is of the RS as I purchased it all original and stock summer of 2013 (in other words, without this 1" riser spacer plate under the handlebar). And I'm keeping the original 3 handlebar bolts so I can always remove the spacer if I want. It was interesting to discover that inside...

BRP 1" riser/spacer plate for 2012 and older RS's... wow!

Notta problem... figured everybody probably knew what it looked like with the 1" BRP riser installed actually. So far I really like the improved steering functionality and a lot less fatigue on the arms, going to take a little longer to decide how much I like the look though... not too bad...

BRP 1" riser/spacer plate for 2012 and older RS's... wow!

Just put 1 of those riser spacer plates under my 2012's handlebars, and Wow! what a difference a single inch makes IMO at least! The steering is so much easier, it actually feels like power steering now for a change (I'd always wondered if my DPS system was even working on this roadster...

    Made some new friends

Same thing happens to me here in Texas, just about every time I take the Spyder anywhere. Several people have asked to sit on it, and have their pics taken on it, or just took pics of it while I was in a store or restaurant. Unfortunately it's very rarely a cute single woman though... :gaah: -...

    Best Cell Phone mount?

I often use the Navigator app of my Droid Razr to find places when driving my pickup truck, but can't use the phone when riding the Spyder... who makes a really good safe cell phone mount that will securely hold (but still be removable!) my Droid Razr phone on my 2012 Spyder RS handlebars...

    Brake Malfunction warning?

Update: Been a full week now since I added maybe 1 oz of fluid to each brake fluid reservoir... haven't seen the Brake Failure message again since. So that was my problem. Keep in mind that slowly as your brake pads wear down the brake calipers will retain more and more brake fluid (just like...

    Laser Alignment in Houston area???

Unfortunately it's more of a "guy magnet" you'll find out. Everywhere you take the thing, guys will walk over to ask questions and check it out close up. :banghead: Kinda suxs when you're single. :sour: - Michael

    Brake Malfunction warning?

Pretty certain the extra 1 oz or so of fluid I added to each reservoir solved my problem... it hasn't done it again even once this weekend. That's so weird though, cause my fluid level was clearly above Min (but below Max). You'd think the level would need to fall below Min before any warning or...

    annybody switching for the f3

The F3 doesn't appeal to me... tiny frunk (they might as well call it a "glove box") and I don't like that kind of riding position at all among other things. It has a retro look rather than a futuristic look, IMHO. Burnt orange with black trim? Who's coming up with these new color schemes...

    Brake Malfunction warning?

I think you are right Drew, though I never experienced any weeping of the reservoir caps I do recall that when I got this Spyder RS at 880 miles the fluid was at the Max mark on both reservoirs, now it's sitting just above Min and I'm having this problem. This morning I had to leave out extra...

    Brake Malfunction warning?

Quick update: I just went and checked with the trip B meter, and the light and "Brake Failure" message have been occurring at the 0.5 mile marker... of course, it didn't do it today for the 1st time in a week! :banghead: Ghost in the machine I guess? Maybe it just needed me to remove the brake...

    Brake Malfunction warning?

Yeah you're going to have to be a lot more specific, the Spyder has a LOT of wires in under the body panels. How is one supposed to check the brake pads for wear? I push on the brake pedal, it stops no squealing or other strange noises or vibrations. With just over 7K miles I'd be surprised if...

    Brake Malfunction warning?

Just rolled it out into the sunlight so I could clearly see the fluid level, and it's just below Max and well above Min on both fluid chambers... so unfortunately, that ain't the problem. :dontknow: The strange thing is that the "Brake Failure" message only happens 1 time per day scrolling...

Recommended synthetic oil brand/weight for hot states?

Well my clutch isn't slipping my rpm's match my speedo readings spot-on in every gear in spite of having some STP Oil Treatment in the crankcase. I don't believe it's hurting anything, can't really say if it's helping anything or not though either. Still will definitely use SeaFoam in the tank...

    Brake Malfunction warning?

Thanks, I'll check the fluid level in the morning (I just got home and it's getting dark fast already). It did it to me again just after noon today when I left out after starting this thread. At about the same rolling distance again too. The exact wording of the message is actually "Brake...

    Brake Malfunction warning?

Hi! In the past week or two I've noticed I'm getting a Brake Malfunction warning on the instrument cluster when I 1st start a ride on my 2012 RS... it occurs almost the same distance from my carport (about 1/4 of a mile out) each ride, and then within 20 seconds or so it goes away and doesn't...
