• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Obligatory post-I tell you all the stuff you already know...

The RS/GS models definitely have Pep! Passing a slow moving vehicle on a divided freeway still spooks me, I'm hitting 80+ mph before I pass the other vehicle's front bumper! Yikes! :yikes: Thing about the bigger ACE 1330 engine is it's also heavier... and goes in a heavier Spyder at that. The...

    Good Deal or Not?

Kewl beans, sounds like a plan to me! - Michael (Advantage to living in Texas: Ride all year long! LOL!)

    Good Deal or Not?

Well that may be the case in New York, idk and won't be riding there in this lifetime. I have it on good authority that I may get a ticket but more likely a stern warning in Texas if I get pulled over without the Motorcycle endorsement, as long as I have a valid state drivers license on me...

    Good Deal or Not?

Joe... not that I want to hijack this thread, but if you're speeding (as some do I'm sure... not you or I obviously, but other people) and you're in an accident does your insurance then not cover you since you were breaking the law by speeding and are therefore an outlaw (or at the least, you're...

    Good Deal or Not?

ps. Your Spyder's color scheme is often referred to as the "Silver Moon" Spyder. - Michael

    Good Deal or Not?

Hey man take it easy with this machine if it's your 1st vehicle on less than 4 wheels! These are NOT as forgiving if you get into an accident... you will get hurt, bad! I took 3 months to learn mine, staying on local neighborhood streets and back roads where there was little to no traffic and...

    Spyder-friendly Motorcycle Safety courses?

I cannot spend the night... I have furry-kiddos at home that have to be taken care of every night, and nobody else but me to care for them. So... no long road trips, no overnight stays away. Right now I don't have the money for a course anyways, I'm having problems getting paid for work I did...

    Good Deal or Not?

Congrats! Hey if it's the Spyder you want and you got the price down where you felt comfortable with it, then it's a GREAT DEAL IMHO! Even though there's not a lot of warranty, at least there is some and that should give you some peace of mind.... you may be able to buy an extension to...

    Brake failure help

Well I'm already getting "Brake Failure!" alerts scrolling across my display again.... this is ridiculous I tell you! I've barely ridden it since topping the reservoirs off and resetting the positions of both caps as suggested! :banghead: - Michael

A question for riders in Canada

I really wouldn't recommend going off-road with a Spyder... it's going to get totally stuck the 1st gully you try to cross. :lecturef_smilie: They're kinda intended for the paved highway system. - Michael

    Shopping for Accessories.

Congrats on your new baby! But, if it's an SE5 what makes you think floor boards would make for easier shifting? SE5 is the electronic paddle shifter sub-model, and the paddle is up on the handlebar not at your feet! :roflblack: Just saying... - Michael

    Hard nut to crack

Hey a Trunk in the Front is a Frunk and I don't care who you are or what you think about the term! It applies. :lecturef_smilie: Question: Is it better to have a bluetooth headset in your helmet (with speakers and a mic) that connect to your smart phone to stream music from and be able to make...

    Good Deal or Not?

Is there an extended warranty or any kind of warranty at all on this Spyder (I'm looking at the ad but it only has the original when it was new specs listed)? If not, go lower. Warranty makes a huge difference in any used vehicle, even if it's only a couple months of coverage. The upgrades I...

    Dead Spyder

2000 GMC Extended Cab 1-ton Dually, 1978 Camaro Z28 (yes it's an antique officially, my very 1st car from when I was in high school!)... both have a soft rubber bellows under the cap. The bellows is vented thru the cap but there are no holes in the bellows, which floats on the surface of the...

    Dead Spyder

I found it... thanks! I thought it was just a little triangle imprint, didn't realize it was punched-through the rubber till I prodded at it with a small screwdriver. Don't like this design much, brake fluid really shouldn't be vented to atmosphere. I guess BRP engineers figured it would be so...

    Brake failure help

I never read nor searched the Shop Talk forum before... always stayed in the RS(S) forum or the General Spyder forum. So no, I never saw that discussion before but reading it now I pretty much agree with the OP of that thread... this is a poor design, venting the inside of the reservoir to...

    Brake failure help

Found it! It's a little triangle shaped stamp near the middle that's cut-out on 2 sides (the V you referred to). Whew! Now I can stop freaking out about not having them in my caps! The little cut-out flap leads to a small channel in the plastic cap that runs out to the edge of the cap...

    Brake failure help

I forgive you, but I still do not see the V you are referring to inside of my caps. :dontknow: The brake fluid reservoir caps on both my Camaro and my GMC truck have a rubber diaphragm that expands and contracts as the fluid levels change... the fluid has no access to air outside of the...

    Brake failure help

Ok I'm really freaking out now because the inside of my cap doesn't have a u shaped slit in it! :yikes: Or are you referring to the little notch on the inside of the edge of the cap that is the vent? Am I misunderstanding your description of this slit? Or was there a design change made to the...
