• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Nanny finally showed up to the party!

Really Glad the Nanny did her job for you. :2thumbs: IMHO 25 mph is too slow for 3rd gear. You want to keep your rpm at least at 4K. Lugging the engine is about the only thing the Nanny won't protect against.

    RT Shocks installed - video

I have the 2010 RT shocks and springs on my 08 PE. I have to say I agree that it is much more responsive, almost "darty" ( I doubt that is a real word). I have not noticed wheel lift being worse than before the shock switch however. I also have the Evo sway bar. I have ridden with it one up...

    Schuberth C3 helmet

Gary, Here is a link to a review by a site I use a lot. I have no personal experience with this helmet. I would love to by it and the bluetooth system that is made for it, but the cost is just not in my current budget. http://www.webbikeworld.com/r2/motorcycle-helmet/schuberth-c3/ Steven

    Help

I find the passenger ride on the spyder to be a more active ride compared to a two wheel m/c, but that makes it more fun for me. It takes some getting used to and it does feel like the bike is trying to throw you off, and paying attention is more important as a quick move when you are unaware...

    covers

I bring mine with when traveling and usually use it. I regard it as an overnight security measure, if nothing else. It also keeps you from coming out to a wet seat in the morning. Sometimes it's nice to leave it off overnight and let the dew soften up the previous days bugs for easier...

    Unswitched power connection

The end of my unswitched circuit wires were right behind where the frunk latch is. When I did this same search someone was kind enough to send a link to a picture. I couldn't tell that much from the picture, but knowing where the wires were at what color made the task easy. Here is the link...

 for doing the research on this one.

    Odyssey Chargers

I agree, but I also don't want to have any warranty problems with a new battery, and my trusty Deltran Battery Tender is not on the approved list. If other Spyderlovers are using "non-approved" chargers with the Odyssey battery and are not having problems, I'll quit being paranoid. Probably...

    Odyssey Chargers

I wonder too Here is a link to a list of Odyssey approved chargers. http://www.odysseyfactory.com/documents/ODYSSEYapproved12Vchargers_OCT2010_003.pdf Very few of those chargers do I recognize and some of them are pushing some serious amperage. I was planning on getting an Odyssey when my OEM...

    Hearing protection

I used to wear these at night before my wife got her CPAP machine. They are very effective. Highest db attenuation on the market; 34db. IMHO only they block too much sound for safe ryding. 22db attenuation is about my personal safe hearing limit. As BajaRon said in another post, you do want...

    Hearing protection

My wife and I always wear earplugs and we have communication in our helmets. You need what are often referred to as musicians earplugs. They attenuate in the 10 to 20 db range. I think ours are 13db attenuation. That way we can hear each other, music, the GPS, emergency vehicles, horns etc...

    Reducing Heat from Engine

A lot of the earlier Spyder owners did similar mods. Heat management options like the one described are now available, pre-made, from one of our site sponsors. http://www.spyderpops.com/
