• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Parking brake

The cable does stretch some making adjustment necessary, but every 900 miles, that seems a little too often to me. JMHO

I did it! My rear end is lit up and I can legally drive! Woohoo!

Congrats Cheryl. There ought to be 2 units of my blood for Ed as I donated in his name last time. Can't give until Dec. but will do it in his name again. Best to you both. :2thumbs:

My Rear Fender Brackets are Cracking --- AGAIN

I think ERAGS took a picture of his when they were cracked. I don't have any. The cracks are at the rear (fender) end of the bracket. Both times, mine started cracking at the bottom side of the bracket and worked their way up.

    Front wheel in the air

Easily possible to lift a front wheel, lots of us have done it, although a foot is pretty high. The nanny will retard the ignition and/or apply the appropriate braking if you are in danger of flipping. For me, it is much more likely in quick turns from a stop or a very slow speed. Not sure...

My Rear Fender Brackets are Cracking --- AGAIN

It is/was an issue with GS/RS bikes At the time mine failed the first time there were a lot of posts about rear fender bracket failure. It was mostly in higher mileage machines. BRP had no problems with the warranty claim. They supposedly redesigned, and I will have to say that I thought my...

My Rear Fender Brackets are Cracking --- AGAIN

I had my rear fender brackets replaced under warranty some time ago. I quit keeping an eye on them as the replacements seemed like they were a reinforced version of the originals and were unlikely to crack again. I was checking the rear tire pressure a few days ago when I noticed that they...

    Rear brake pads

Easy job on an GS/RS especially if you have the manual. Probably the same on an RT, just more tupperware in the way. Seems awfully early to be replacing your pads though but if they are at the wear limit, do not put it off and ruin you rotor. Good Luck

    Amber 20 LED 7W BulbS/7507BAU15s

Is the rapid blinking really a problem as long as the Nanny is happy. Sometimes a quicker signal flash will get a cagers attention better because we react more to things that aren't the norm. Just MHO.

    Does your Spyder squeal?

Here is one mans solution from long ago http://www.spyderlovers.com/forums/showthread.php?13434-BACK-UP-BRAKE-SQUEAK-SOLVED&highlight=brake Have not done it myself, but never really had the problem that often. Usually happened for me only in reverse at very low speed. Don't think I have heard...

    "Phantom" Limp Mode

The first thing to check is that the relays are seated properly. My 08 needed new foam in the top of the box to keep them seated properly. The next thing would be battery condition and the condition of the connections to it.

I run mine 36 one-up, 40 two-up and 44 two-up pulling my trailer. Got 12k on the stock tire to the wear bars. Got 21k to the wear bars on the Kumho.

removing the right side panel under the seat

It's easier to take the tupperware off the side of the Spyder below that panel than it is to get that panel out. It is actually only held on by a couple of plastic fasteners in the rear and if I remember correctly two clips up front, but it really hard to get out without a lot of trouble. Not...

    SPYDER REAR TRUNK

Nice job. I love to see people innovate. Be cautious about putting too much weight in that big box though. The amount of lift from the box will be magnified by the length of the bracket the box is mounted on. You could become the first Spyder to do a wheelie if you load the box too...

    touch up paint

I think what you want is out there A couple of years ago I wanted to paint my pull-behind trailer to match my Spyder. The painter was able to get one quart (all it took) custom mixed for under a 100 dollars, I don't really remember the price as we did a barter deal for the paint job. Now I...
