• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Ride On-maybe not for everyone

Actually I have some that I will send to you if you pay the postage. I now carry a $4 tubeless tire repair kit and will hope for the best.

    Ride On-maybe not for everyone

I ran my first RS/GS Spyder 45k without anything in the tires but compressed air. No problems. After reading over and over about how great a product Ride On was, I added it to all tires in the proper amount on my new to me 2008 RS/GS. The first couple of miles my tires bounced like basketballs...

    The Ultimate Trailer

I had one of these for my first spyder; It was really cool. very easy on and off, great soft ride for your bike, wicked expensive, not very durable, no customer service, the fenders and rock shield will not look nice for very long. If you had a strictly show bike and went strictly to bike shows...

Interesting experience in San Francisco on Spyder

So if you travel a few miles north of San Francisco you enter Mendocino County which is the center for pot heads and growers. It was a cold winter day in late 2008 and I had stopped for gas in one of the small towns. Being cold, I did not remove any of my gear but just hopped off and started...

FYI: CA Motorcycle Law & Insurance Requirements

I took this course when I got my first Spyder as it was my first motorcycle/whatever. It was worth every dime and some of the habits they taught me there are still in place. I would look around and just bet that there are courses closer to you than 200 miles. Ask a few motorcycle shops.I...

My Spyder has me feeling less than warm and fuzzy

There should be a piece of foam installed from the factory there and you should be able to see the indent of the relays in the foam indicating they are pressing down. I have heard the above suggestion often enough to think a lot of these got out of the factory without this piece of foam...

I Have a watter pump oil leak not good Leaking out the weep hole.

I had a BRP mechanic tell me that I had the same problem. It was going to cost 6-700 dollars to fix and was a pretty involved process. The money was not as big an issue as having the engine torn into. My experience with BRP mechanics working on an engine is not good. Actually it has been...

    Winter is officially over

There is something wrong. I have ridden in stop and go traffic in the hundred and teens and the bike got hot but never went limp or threw a code. You should check that out because heat plus an unreliable bike is not going to be fun.

    Winter is officially over

Actually I play outfield and pinch run for other batters. It is senior softball and I am glad to be able to do it at all at 65. The games are short-no more than 1-1/2 hours

    Winter is officially over

It will be about 10 degrees cooler here but I have 6 softball games to play this weekend. Riding would be better.

Brake Failure Code showing up AGAIN!

I would go with this answer. The only brake code I ever had was from being about a teaspoon low on brake fluid. A teaspoon is a very small amount but apparently the system is very sensitive to this. Good luck.

Get a Drift HD720 for your Spyder.

I have hesitated to buy one of these because I always thought the editing of the raw film would just chew up too much time. What say you. The videos are quite good and make it look like someone spent a lot of time on them.

How much oil do you use?

While it is counterintuitive, you may be better off running half a quart low. Yeah I know that does not suit the anal types. But if you fill it to the full mark it will likely blow it up into the air box and what you think is consumption is just positive crankcase blow by. I run a half quart...

Hampton Beach Hot Day Trip-Running Hot-Stalling-UGH

Just swap your relays. It is easy and I would almost bet that would solve it.

Is it time to replace my battery and tire?

That tire is done. Change your battery every three years and get on with your life. I change the relays too. It looks like you have gotten good service out of those time change parts in any case.

My spyder finally left me strandsd along the roadside

Would you let me know the part number of the 'bulbous' part. I have heard enough of this in that I am going to change my reservoir and bulbous part on my 2008. Sorry for your troubles. Nothing worse than a broken toy..on the side of the road..in the heat..at sunset...

    RS-S leaking oil

Oh Yeah. I did this too and it works very well. There are lots of other solutions but this is simple, cheap and it works pretty darn good.

    RS-S leaking oil

I will try to help: Most oil leaks on an RS comes from oil in the air box making its way down. Pull the side panels and remove the top of the air box and look in there for an accumulation of oil. That could be one source and it is typical of these engines. There are several ways to fix this...

What's the difference in these 2?

I have the one on the left installed on my bike and it does move the handlebars back a bit and makes the ride more comfortable. I have one for sale cheap if you want it. I bought one to put on a used bike I bought and then realized the used bike already had on installed.

    Belt Tensioners

I put a smooth spyder on a 2008 RS/GS and it makes for a noticeably smoother ride.
