• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    2009 GS SE5 overheating

If your bike goes into limp mode, it is overheated and should be looked in to. If it does not go in to limp mode it is not overheated. It does sound like you have a sticky thermostat. Do yourself a favor and change it out and eliminate it as a cause. And while you are at it change out the...

Tire Size & Speedometer Correction - Evidence

I have always found it interesting that we are not allowed to adjust our speedometer reading to be more accurate. It would be easy enough to do since these are all computer readouts and there is no reason that we could not adjust the speedometer 4 or 5 miles per hour since it is pretty much off...

    Ace 1330

I would guess that is some acronym for a marketing name that makes little sense when fully spelled out. Like Blu-Tec or Sky Activ.

    Motorcycle GPS

I have a Tom Tom Rider 2 (about $700) that appears to be bulletproof. That is the end of the list of things I like about it. The items you need to get it on the bike will run to $200. They are not bulletproof. I have had to change out the $100 plus cradle once. I added a Nuvi 255 ($75) which...

    Durango, Colorado

What event is going on in Durango? And when? Sorry to sound so dumb but I like Durango and would like to go to any event that is there.

    Is this a good deal?

Its a good deal. They don't make them like that any more. Two things I would check; 1) does it have the DPS recall done to it. If not-walk away. See proof, not just a verbal. 2) How much tinkering has he done to the electrical system. Any mods done to the electrical system on these bikes is...

    Exit Comments

I sold my original Spyder a few years back. Then I bought a Fiat 500- the 183rd one brought into the USA after an absence of many years. What a hoot that car was. It was like having a street legal go cart. But I missed the open air feeling. Now a convertible Abarth Fiat would still be with...

Love my 08 RS but Should I RT???

I have had two 08 RS's . I tired to fall in love with the RT but the handling just did not suit me. I am sure it could be fixed but there is something about spending $30K on a machine and then having to 'fix' it that just does not set well for me. It comes down to whether you are riding two...

Thumbs down on Falkon rear tire

15,000 is a what I get on my RS and have since November of 2007. I think RT's get considerably less. I don't know why. Probably the weight difference and that they are built for two up riding and probably get a lot of use that way. Some people claim their tire is worn out when the rain bars...

    NEED HELP

First you need to find another dealer. I never rode a two wheel motor bike. I bought my Spyder off of a picture. When I got it I had to go behind the dealer and learn to drive it. Not long after that I took off across country. It handles as much as an ATV as anything. Learning to ride it...

    SOLO RIDERS

Solo I have about 65,000 miles on Spyders all but about 4,000 miles being by myself. Hide a key. I use a magnetic key holder on the inside of my Tupperware where I check the oil. Yeah, now everybody knows but in 65,000 miles I have stopped and talked to exactly one Spyder owner. Even with...

    This morning

I have often wondered why some clever person on here has not figured out a way to harvest the heat from the engine and pipe it up to a rider's jacket. It seems like it would be a nice way to get some additional heat on those cold mornings. So all of you inventive types on here get busy. I...

    Where do I start

I had never ridden a motorbike of any kind when I bought my Spyder. I took a MC safety course and credit that with 60,000 miles of safe Spyder riding. My little experience with two wheelers lead me to believe that it is more like an ATV than a two wheeler but others on here would know better...

Should I go for it or not??

Get the Ultimate. Second best thing I have done to my RS. You only need one backrest. It can be relocated to take a passener along if you need it.

This is absolutely a miracle drug!

Did you bother to check how many inches you lost on your waist and gained on your thighs? It's not all about weight. It's about being healthy. It's almost impossible to lose weight by exercise alone because activity generally increases your appetite. As the saying goes,"You lose weight in...

    Green Fluid Leaking

It is most likely coolant. Most likely caused by a loose clamp on one of the hoses. It may be caused by a crack in the reservoir- the original ones were defective. And lastly it could be coming from the water pump but that is usually accompanied by a little bit of oil. This is a weak spot...

This is absolutely a miracle drug!

Thanks for posting this. You may have the wrong audience here judging by the lack of response. I have a similar but different story. I lost my wife at 53 and she was the healthiest person I have ever known. Cancer got her after 18 years. Without living healthy she may have been gone in 18...

That is not normal and you should probably get that fixed. The worse case scenario in this instance could be your house catching on fire.

    War eagle!

You have to love SEC football. While a long time LSU fan I may be switching to a War Eagle fan if they keep doing their 'rabbit out of the hat' thing. That is not really going to happen but if you don't enjoy a game like that you just don't like college football.

    Rear Brake Pads

I was going to stay out of this but could not resist. With brake pads and tires it is very objective to determine if they are worn out. I see this often on here where someone says my brakes or my tires are worn out after XXX miles. While there are a lot of variables that would cause these...
