• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

To grill or not to grill that is the question

I installed grills after my trip across South Dakota.

    Tire Pressure Monitoring System?

The FOBO does not work on the 2020 RTL with the shamrock wheels unless the valve stem is replaced with a longer one. Any other options out there for the 2020 RTL?

Anyone using Octane Booster in their Spyder? Pros & Cons?

Thanks for everyone's insights. I'll leave the octane booster on the store shelf.

Anyone using Octane Booster in their Spyder? Pros & Cons?

Anyone have experience using an octane booster in a Spyder? How did the Spyder perform? Any potential negative side effects. My summer riding plans may take me to areas without premium gas.

I can not get my front trunk open! Help?

I've run into a situation similar to what safecracker mentioned. I had filled my frunk with too much stuff so there was pressure against the lid. I gently pressed on the lid while pushing my key and it popped open. I hope your problem is a simple fix.

Back Rest Pouch too small - any suggestions?

Here is a picture that shows the leather pouch my pillion uses. If the pouch behind the backrest gets too big it may interfere with the space allowed for the passenger. I think I bought the pouch at Cycle Gear but I would imagine other motorcycle dealers have something comparable.

Back Rest Pouch too small - any suggestions?

What is your passenger wanting to store? My wife can keep lip balm, comb, etc. in the back pouch. On my 2013 RT-S I had arm rests for her which I was able to attach a small, leather bag to which she could keep her sunglasses and a few other things in.

Nice to see Motorcycle Events happening again!

It's nice to see motorcycle events popping up once again this summer. It gives us not only Plan A but Plan B and C as well. Lots of options for destination riding.

    Sunday ride in kansas

I got a ride in as well on Monday in the KC area. Near 70 degrees. Two days later I wake up to 4 degrees! You have to grab the good days for riding when you can during the winter.

Spyder RTL 2020 & up radiator cover grills to keep trash out

one of the issues some people have installing the KOTT grills is working the grill around the "Wing" in the grill area. When I bought my KOTT grills from Spyderpops I also bought the upper vent grills. To install the upper vent grills I had to take off three pieces of tupperware. Not very...

Thinking on upgrading 2019 RT to 2022 RT - what gear will transfer?

I was not able to move much from my 2013 RTS to the 2020. My previous bike was heavily modded but I was not able to move much. The F4 windshield and the Can-Am trailer hitch were the biggies. Also, the Lidlox were an easy change. My IPS key holder is usable to start the engine but I cant use...

Thinking of doing The Tail Of The Dragon... any comments or suggestions?

I'm in agreement with most of the previous posting. I rode the TOD so I can check it off the list of roads to ride but it is not my favorite due to crowds and overly energetic potential organ donors. My buddy and I were lucky. It was raining when we showed up. It was midweek the third week...

What could be causing the Loud brake noises?!?

If the squealing just started, be sure the brakes are clean. I was on a gravel road in Colorado and my brakes were so loud I thought I would have to get them replaced before I continued my trip. Based on advice from this forum, I gave my bike and brakes a good cleaning and the noise stopped...

    Spyders passing HDs

I've never had anything of this scale happen to me in the eight years I've ridden a Spyder. I've had only one HD rider give me a rather negative hand signal when I waved at him, otherwise, a decent number wave and others don't. I've found that if there is a group of HD riders, the front riders...

New F3 bars on my RT - what a difference!

I noticed the upper back/shoulder blade pain on the 5 hour ride home on my 2020 RTL. I debated between the F3 handlebar and the riser from Lamonster. I bought the riser thinking it would be an easier install. Lamont has a how to video and it was a fairly simple job. It made an immediate...

Need to get over Fear of Leaving my Spyder in Hotel Parking Lots Unattended O/night

Somebody would have to be awfully good to make off with a 1,000 lbs, locked down Spyder. I worry more about my trailer. I leave it hooked up to my RTL with a lock and cabling but it is easier to work through those deterrents. However, after traveling for several years I've never had an issue...

    Reliability of the Spyder

For me, my previous 2013 RT-S was perfect. Never an issue. So far my 2020 RTL has been great, too. One thing I noticed that does not get brought up very often is how much maintenance may be required on two wheel motorcycles while on long trips. It seems that chains or links, cables, tires...

Black Hills and more in South Dakota

We finished the night with a nice dinner at a local restaurant in Hill City. It wasn’t until we were on the road heading back to Olathe the next day that I discovered I had left my credit card at the restaurant. A quick call confirmed it. I wasn’t heading back at that point, so I had them cut...

Black Hills and more in South Dakota

Carol and I wanted to see the Crazy Horse Monument. Doug and Lisa had already been to the Crazy Horse Monument and didn’t need to see it again. So, after lunch they dropped Carol and I off at the house and they continued to explore the backwoods of the Black Hills. We toured the Visitors’...
