• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Anyone with a CCW vest?

What brand/model leather CCW vest do you find is very comfortable and good at concealing and offers dual side draw, as I am left handed?

Why is Belt alignment so hard to get right?!

Basically the same as BajaRon told me. The wheel must be tight up against the adjusters. I have a 21” long 36mm combination wrench. Loosen the axle nut and place the open end on the nut and smack the box end with a hammer a few times. Then tighten the nut, snug, but not tight. THEN make the...

SE Sometimes Slow Downshifting Into First

So I prefer to do my own downshifting. I can do it smoother than the bike can. On more than one occasion, I have experienced a “delay” in dropping from 2nd into 1st. I’ll be completely off throttle, hit the blipper, I’ll hear the clunk, but sometimes it takes almost a full second before I feel...

Is The Rotax 990 An Interference Engine?

I do not have to elaborate, as my title of this post says it all.

What antifreeze can I use besides Can Am's?

I use Prestone’s all makes all models 50/50 premix. It’s compatible with everything. As per BajaRon, as long as it says it’s safe for aluminum engines, you’ll be fine.

Does Belt Tension Vary with the wheel on the ground or in the air?

This thing is the bomb for adjusting things! Wheel on the ground PLUS you can have it running in first gear. I still chock the fronts though.

Could the “Chuffing” noise I hear be the ABS Tone Wheel?

When going slow (10 MPH +/-) I hear a high pitched “chuffing”. For clarification, chuffing is that choppy sound like talking through fan blades. It slows when I slow. The only thing I can think of is air between the tone wheel and the speed sensors on the front. Like when then the teeth are...

2022 RT-L - is jacking using the rear shock mount safe?

BajaRon told me NEVER to lift there. He says that bolt is too skinny to support that kind of weight. I guess he’s had to fight several bent ones out. Not fun.

Does Belt Tension Vary with the wheel on the ground or in the air?

I’ve noticed that if I jack up the frame so that the rear wheel is off the ground, the belt tension is quite a bit less than with the full weight on the wheel. That being said, should the tension be adjusted while jacked up or not? Also does the tension increase when sitting on the bike, and...

What's with this Coolant Overflow? Expanding/purging after shut-down?

But riding or pulling in to a parking spot, I have no way of knowing if the fan is running or not. I don’t know until I turn the key off and then hear it

What's with this Coolant Overflow? Expanding/purging after shut-down?

Thank you, Peter! I’ve actually put several hundred miles on her since the coolant change. Another question I have is that the overflow tube is connected to the filler neck, so how does the system build pressure when that tube is below the pressure cap?

What's with this Coolant Overflow? Expanding/purging after shut-down?

I know this has been discussed some, but I have a couple concerns. So this spring I drained my coolant. Filled with water, idled to fan coming on, drained the water and refilled with 50/50. Rode a few times all ok. Then one day I backed out of my garage and there was a 50-cent piece sized puddle...

Anyone else a loner and not a group rider?

I ride alone a lot too. I have a buddy with a two wheeler who has gone along with his wife for sone touring. My wife loves riding on my Spyder. We just travel through Amish country and often go to the train crossings together. There is a large Spyder club here, but they’re 2 hours away. 2 hours...

What The Heck Is Going On With My Belt???

UPDATE . . . Found a hard blob of road tar stuck in the rear sprocket exactly in line with the marks on the belt. Knocked it out with a couple smacks with my hand on the end of a screwdriver.
