• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Brand new 2023 RT with an Oil leak, Dealer won't help, what now?

I'm sorry to hear IMotorsports is treating you that way. My opinion is that any resolution has to start with them. What was in your sales contract? Is there a return clause? Call them and don't hang up. That's a lot of money just sitting there. Plus, you're not riding. I can not imagine your...

Trying to figure out if Sea to Sky is better for me than RT Ltd?

The S2S has a different seat. If it is better it is up to you. When I spec'd out my RTL, I added the comfort seat because I tried them both. (I wound up getting the S2S, but that is a long story) We have done 500+ mile days. At the end of the day, we are sore, but(t) more than any other bike...

Old School Rider - The only sounds I need are the wind and the bike!

For us it depends. We can ride with music or without, and when we have our full face helmets and comms on, we might be chatting or not. I like having the option to turn on or turn up the music if the situation warrants.

    What's best - Pulling a Camp Trailer, Motel-ing, or Camp-Cabining??

Early on, I did some camping with my 2-wheel bikes. It was fun, and genreally ok. Mrs. and I did some thinking and talking, about a pull behind camper for the Spyder. We were both ok with the idea of camping, and we are both ok with the idea of staying in B&B's and motels. Different experiences...

Are you happy with your aftermarket CAR tires?

I put the Altimax 45 on the back and Quatracs on the front - all at the same time, at about 12,500 miles, a week or so ago. The rear was shot, the fronts had ok tread, but I wanted to get it all done in one shot. Before I left the dealer, I adjusted all to 18 psi. I had a (solo) 100 mi ride from...

What did you do to your Spyder today?

Well, not today, but last week....... Oil Change and spring inspection. 3 new tires, Altimax 45 rear, Vredstein's on the fronts. Wired in the Carupride CarPlay 5" display and mounted. Wired in the battery tender lead. New battery. It would start but tested low.

Hear, Hear! Do you wear ear plugs if your helmet doesn't cover your ears?

We wear both modular and half helmets depending on the ride. While I always have ear plugs on the bike, I don't always wear them. It depends on the wind strength and direction, among other things. If the wind is really pummeling me, I'll stop and throw a set in. It does make a difference.

First Rally (Hot Springs) - advice?

I couldn't get down there until June, so I can't ride with you. Research the rides, there are a ton of them in that area and surrounding. This will be our second visit to Arkansas, the riding is beautiful there. When we went to Deadwood rally, it was more about the rides for us than the rally...

When Dogwoods bloom.... their pollen covers everything, including my Spyder!!

I'm wheezing just looking at some of those pictures! But it does signal warmer weather coming.

Considering 2023 RT base vs 2023 RT Sea to Sky - is the S2S worth it?

It's been said above, if you can afford it, get the Sea to Sky. The extras are nice. I had an RTL on order and switched to a S2S, granted it was more than just wanting the upgrade, my delivery was delayed, but thats my story.

    Downshifting vs Braking

About a 50/50 split for me - depending on where and how I am riding. I'm not that aggressive, so I don't think I load up either system when slowing down.

BajaRon's Spyders & Rykers in the Smokies Rally & Poker Run

I would love to be there, eastern Tennessee is my favorite riding. We have scheduled our '24 trip already, and time off is at a premium, so only one trip for us this year. I hope it is a huge success and everyone has safe travels to and from, and while there.

After input on Handlebar risers... Anyone?

6"1" and I put the Lamonster riser on - made a huge difference in my comfort - gave me some bend in my arms. (I did rotate the bars foreward a bit as well). It seemed to open up my view of the mirrors also.

Is Spyderpops still a Sponsor? If not, anyone know why?

I just scheduled an install with them for our trip there in a few months, and have purchased a few things from them previously. Bummer they don't advertise here anymore, but they will still get my business. (I do also give my business to other advertisers here.)

Well, It Appears that my 2 Polls on Tires have Run their Course.

Thank you Ron! Very interesting to see the poll results and read the comments. I am getting the spring service done and all 3 tires changed in a couple of weeks (this week and next travelling for work, and not on the bike). With everything I have read, I am really looking forward to the ride...

Issues with Kenda Tires or Not?

No real reason, since this is my first Spyder and my first tire change on it. I read a ton of threads on here, and it seemed most were happy with either out back. I think BajaRon mentioned the Altimax 45 was a good fit recently, so I grabbed one. The Vredsteins on front seem to get an...

Issues with Kenda Tires or Not?

Wow! First vote :2thumbs: Coming up on 15,000 miles on original rubber and no issues. That being said, I have a General for the rear and two Vredsteins for the fronts in the garage and going to be put on at the spring service. Which I hope is in the next few weeks!
