• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Free runnin Dogs!

I was being facetious about actually shooting... it could cause trouble if you do and are identified. However, the threat of that might make the law enforcement people take note that there is a real problem on that road caused by a nuisance, unrestrained animal. It might force them to look...

    Free runnin Dogs!

Tell the police (or animal control)... "I'm going to shoot that dog if it comes at me again." See if that gets them to do something about it. If not... um... shoot it :) Or, maybe not. Sorry for the canine capers by you.

    RS Fog Lights

I agree, Mike, the best thing is to ride defensively. Its worth more than anything else on a bike. I ride like I have a big neon, flashing target on me. Still, I am more aware than I used to be of trying to stand out against the background ... not wearing all black, like in my Harley...

    RS Fog Lights

My headlights were already upgraded to LED prior to purchase. I just changed the fender front marker lights to LED and the difference is awesome. Now the fog lights look yellow and dull. If they work better or even the same that is alright. I'm most concerned about being seen in day and in...

    The Elephant in My Room

So far... so good for me. I went through Ontario Canada on a 2500 mile trip in early summer and experienced no problems with the spyder. Like someone said, stuff happens, no matter what you ride. Riding and seeing new things is far better than admiring the Spyder that sits in the garage all...

Using auto tires on any spyder

I bought my Vredestein's from Tire Rack. I ordered the rear tire first. A second order for the two fronts. I just searched the site for tire size and picked. Shipped without any questions.

Any one had a Broken left heel ( Calcaneus )...I do!

Broken tibia and ankle last June... didn't ride the rest of the summer (except the lawn tractor). Winter kept me in the four wheeled cage. Back to riding normally this spring. Manual 2010 RS... ankle working great. Patience with rehab. You'll get there.

    Intercoms

Sometimes a crackle sound can come if the boom if rubbing against the helmet or lips... needs to be placed clear of touching things. That might be what's happening. Just a thought.

HELP! 2008 GS SM5 Starter not turning over despite excellent battery voltage

Wow... and I'm just ticked about the safety message to clear! Amazing you figured out BRP's "new" starting procedure. You didn't say though if it only worked during full moons, when wearing a blue hat and red socks. Glad you can make it go and hope BRP has some answers for you. I'll be...

    It's almost here " Dave's new Website "

Broke the top of my tibia and my ankle a year ago after being cut off in Deadwood and going down. The Harley Ultra that fell on them, was a bit stronger than my left leg/ankle. That was the story of what I did with my summer vacation (and beyond). Be patient. Do the rehab. It gets better...

    Removing plate under oil tank

Plate has just a few bolts and drops... I took mine off on both sides to let more air breath to help with heat. (If that is what you are referring to) They are splash guards... some keep them on and some toss. Having the one of the oil side off makes for easier oil servicing.

    Warning regarding Sena batteries

Ditto... 4th year with same battery and no loss of efficiency. And... when it happens, there are videos that will help me replace a battery (if I want to or want to move on at that point to something newer). Try changing the battery in many cell phones... its a nightmare... or a GPS unit...

    Let’s Talk headsets

My wife and I have the older Sena SMH 10 units. They work great for talking along the way. Also, I can turn her off (and she me)! :) The Sena's allow us to stream bluetooth music if wanted and take phone calls. The price point on these is good, since they are not the latest greatest tech. I...

    Done with Spyder

I am a newcomer to a used Spyder and have not encountered this ... yet. That said, I can see that service/support is the weak link with owning a Spyder. From the get-go that is what has had me nervous about traveling and being stranded on the road without a competent dealer near at hand. I...

Benefits of the k & n air filter

I use them in all my vehicles. I've never had a problem caused by them. Buy once and done. Cleaning and recharging is not difficult, if you can follow directions. I'll continue to use until someone can convince me they are inadequate and harmful to an engine. Mine have all fit as well as...

Transition from 2 wheels to 3

I have ridden two wheels since mini-bikes and now am on 3. The transition from 2 to 3 takes quite a few miles for us 2 wheel guys. I would say after about 1000 miles on my spyder the "weird" feelings disappeared and the brain clicked in. Spyders take a light touch and not the death grip on...

    Headlights

With our older RS models (mine is 2010) and the headlight lenses, do non H7 lamps illuminate correctly? I see some companies offering LED's lamp conversions... but want to make sure an improvement and not a problem with the "spyder eyes" lenses of the first generation Spyders. Any insights...

Purchase Can-Am from private seller. Can seller declare $1000 to safe buyer sales tax

Wonderful how the government is able to tax and then retax and etc... even though tax was paid for the full value of a car/bike at the initial purchase. By the time taxing value is done after resales.. amazing how many dollars of value taxes were imposed upon.

    Headlights

Curious about this too. My friends commented on how my RS was really visible behind them only with the highbeams on. Wondering what the best, economical upgrade might be in order to be better seen without having to go to full, warp power on the beams? Don't want to hear Scotty say, "Cap'tin...
