• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    picture of baby in flag

He is not dragging it on the ground. He has his child cradled in it. To me that symbolizes that the child's future is being held by the flag and what it stands for. I know there is a Flag code, but if demonstrators burn flags and get "Free Speech" privileges then this military person deserves...

What is a Spyder. Bike or Motorcycle. Settle argument for me.

Doesn't seem to be an argument on this one. You bought it and paid for it. It is to you what you want it to be. You can't argument with the government as to what they want to call it. I usually refer our Spyder as our "bike". A lot of people would have no idea what you would be referring to...

Finally... My New Russell Day Long Seat

We have had our RDL now since Nov, 2011 with about 40,000 riding miles on it. Best seat I have ever had. It only gets better. In case you are wondering what it looks like on an RT, go the their site and look at the picture galleries. The silver RT is ours with the RDL installed..

    Tire Air Pressure

I use an old fashion gauge with low pressure readings. Digital gauges are more accurate, but for pressure readings on a tire, it's not rocket science. Why make it so hard? Be innovative, ride more and worry less..

Time to shut my mouth and take an extended break.........

I don't know the post you are referring to, but I am one that would much rather hear it straight forward instead of round the corner and through the back door. I have been a bit forward here to a few posts because a lot of time I just get tired of people coming on SL and asking questions for us...

    Loud pipes save lives?

Been riding since 1966. I have always said that loud pipes just aggravate people who hear the load noise, especially when riding through a quiet neighborhood at midnight. And for those of you who live in California where bikes can split lanes, how many times have you be startled when a bike...

How far have you riden on a rs or rss

How about a 2008 GS SE5 in 2009. We made a round about tour of the USA and Nova Scotia, Toronto and New Brunswick. In 7.5 weeks we traveled 13,624 miles. Some days over 500 miles, some under. Overall daily average about 260 miles/day. Subtract the 8 days we visited family, makes it about...

Where is good ole Al Gore

Where ever the lard butt is you can bet he isn't cold, hot or hungry or living in the streets. The liar made multi-millions of dollars from his mafia like organization of climate change salesmen. And people still believe him...that's why we have his kind misleading this country.

Another Oil Change Thread for the 1330s

I use Royal Purple 10W40 Automotive Synthetic since our 2008 SE5...95,000 combined miles of using this oil. Never had any engine issues, always change my oil at 5,000 mile intervals (5,000...10,000...15,000 etc). The great thing about that oil, it goes in purple and comes out purple. If we...

People wanting to borrow the Spyder. What do you say

A simple "NO". And the old response "I thought you were my friend!" And the answer "Were is correct if you ask me again!" IMO, friends don't ask to borrow your car, truck or motor cycle (Spyder). I will take a friend somewhere reasonable and with a real need, once, but I will not be a taxi...

    What should we do?

My question is how was the wind when you were standing still. If the wind was normally strong and/or gusty, no amount of windshield size will help you. She is distant from the windshield and that's just the result of winds and exposure.

    Heat

I am not saying you don't have a heat issue, but to me heat is relative. I don't know if this is you first motorcycle or not, but if it is there will be a certain amount of heat felt. After all, the engine is encased in plastic. Traveling down the road dissipates a lot of this contained heat...

    F3 Tandem Riding - Touring

Since our first Spyder (2008 GS SE5) and our current 2010 RT SM5, my wife has ridden for 97,000 miles sitting behind me. Last weekend we got to see and sit on an F3. Her words, "There is no way I am going to ride behind you on this thing!" That's from a lady that sat behind me on our journey...

    battery issues... 2013 rss

From my experience in a few years of riding motorcycles,49 years, I would suggest, as mentioned, your extra lights running when the bike runs, the short trips (the battery needs several trips of 100 miles or more to really charge up). The battery on my 2010 RT, 55,000 miles is original and...

    Just one question

Does anyone with a 2014 or 2015 RT have anything they don't like about it? I have a 2010 with 55,000 miles that still runs good but was given a great trade in offer and need a little push.
