• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Need to be careful out there

Thank you for posting this. I was the rider. I was enroute to LA for my Mom's 91st birthday. On 10-19, 45 miles east of Van Horn, TX, I spotted 2 javalina on I-10 coming out of the median. They were just walking slowly so I figured I could swing wide right and avoid them. The posted speed is...

    Can anyone help??

In 2009 my wife and I rode around the country doing a Bucket List. By the time we got to Mass. our rear tire was getting a bit slick. A rider from the Cape called his dealer, Bob, and rode with us to get the tire changed. Bob's is a family owned business and is not a "fast buck" conglomerate...

    Had my first hater today

He thumbed you and you gave him the bird. Now you felt better, right. IMHO you stooped lower than he did. The "finger" is the universal "FU" sign. The thumbs down is just a disapproval sign. Now which is worse? Guess what he's going to tell his riding buddies about that Spyder rider. Which...

    F3L - Parking brake horn

Solution: Apply your brakes BEFORE you turn off the ignition. Release your brakes BEFORE you try to move the Spyder in gear. This "noise" is activated for your own safety.

Thats it..... !! That's all the 'upgrades' bring!?

Being on my 3rd Spyder, I can't understand why they still have a 2-bit seat on a $30,000 plus machine. What would it take to put a seat that didn't look like cheap attempt at seat making. I got a Corbin for the 2008 GS, and a RDL for the 2010 RT which was transferred to the 2014 RT.

    Tire Recommendations?

Last Thursday I had 3 new Kumho tires installed. 155/60/15 fronts and 205/55/15 rear. They are beyond awesome. No drifting in the road groves, stays right on track in twisties, VERY quiet, etc. Hard to believe. Bought them from Tire Rack, for around $289 delivered.

    Yet another tire question

I installed 3 tires on my 2014 RTS this past Saturday. I went all Kumho. Fronts are 155/60/15 and rear is a 205/55/15. They beat the OEMs hands down...running 20 psi in the front and 24 psi in the rear. Did several miles of twisties on the way home. Spyder hugged the road like a bandit!

    Shoe polish on ST finish

Have your tried WD-40? Spray on, let it set a bit and wipe off. May take a few apps, but I believe it might work.

    Belt Replacement

Put 57K on my 2010 RT with no problem. Now have 33K on the 2014 RT with no problem. I would think that unless you really do some screaming tire spinning take offs, your belt should not be worn. I would get a second opinion from another dealer before replacing it unnecessarily.

Riding in tight formation at 75+ MPH.

I didn't read every post, but I can see that there is no consensus to whether to ride or not to ride in a group. Do whatever you feel comfortable with. In the fifty years of riding I first rode in a group with the GWRRA. Our "Chapter" leader, on one of our rides stayed in the left lane of...

    Tires & Brakes

I had 57,000 miles on the brake pads on all three wheels when I traded my 2010 RT SE5. Guess it depends on how one rides and where one rides.

    Warranty question

If 9300 miles is good enough for BRP it's good enough for you. I am on my third Spyder. This is the first one I ever brought to dealers for service. The first one a 2008 SE5... we took a ride around the country...7.5 weeks, 13,624 miles, no oil change until I got home. Used 2 quarts. Never...

How fast do rear brakes wear?

My 2010 RT SM5 had 57,000 on all the brakes when I traded it for the 2014 SE6. Did you get ripped? Only the dealer knows.
