• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    2020 Miles - not 2021! — 12 days

Greetings Just returned from 12 days on the ST, riding through eastern Oregon (ever heard of the "rattlesnake," north of Joseph? I had not. GREAT TWISTY ROAD both in Oregon (descending in altitude) and Washington (ascending)) eastern Washington to Spokane then SE through Idaho to Kamiah then...

Tapping an ignition-on hot wire for relay — again?!

OK. I'm stumped. Where to begin finding that headlight wire? The manual I have lacks section numbers and page numbers. I taught technical writing and I can't navigate that thing. I'm about ready to start drilling holes in the fuse boxes and tap into fuse 6 on the left side. Sorry to ask such...

Tapping an ignition-on hot wire for relay — again?!

Greetings I've scoured the forum. Really. I have. Many have asked the same or similar question. The answers don't seem to address my situation. So I'm being redundant in hope of getting a simple, clear, solution. First, my bike is a 2015 ST Limited. There's no trunk, just the frunk. Second...

    Where are you in Oregon???

Greetings— I'm in Redmond, ride a new-to-me 2015 ST Limited. Road bikes for 12 years, now retired and balance is crummy. Went to three wheels and now the wife will ride with me. Leaving soon for 12 days in Washington, Idaho and Montana. While I miss riding a bike, the lean and fun in curves...

    So what is the trick?

Reviving and old thread. Just spent a few hours changing the oil on my 2015 ST Limited, 900cc. There is no hole in the plastic panel for draining the oil from the engine sump. (I will be putting one in next oil change.) There IS a hole for the oil reservoir drain hole. I found the plastic dirt...

Routing heated-gear wiring: I is nervous about that Tupperware

WAAAAY off topic, but I started the thread... "Discount" was mother's milk for me. I accused my then 90-year old mother of being cheap. She said "I'm frugal." I disagreed, told her a couple of stories about her shopping and she said "You're right! I'm cheap!" I no longer belong to the AMA...

Routing heated-gear wiring: I is nervous about that Tupperware

Greetings— The wife is willing to ride with me on the Spyder. She wouldn't get on my 'cycle, which I no longer ride. I ride year around, stopping only for snow on the ground or ice in the same place. Years ago I bought "Warm'n'Safe" (what's up with that name?) hereafter "WnS", heated gear...

New (to me) ST Limited: Questions

A new question, since this thread seems to cover a variety of issues. I ordered a manual online, a reprint, probably from a pdf. It looks alright, illustrations are mostly crisp, and it's obviously from a BRP original. BUT. There's always a big BUT, isn't there? Throughout the manual the various...

New (to me) ST Limited: Questions

Pegasus Thanks for this information. I've not spent much time in Spyder World, so don't have the foumdation of learning/knowlwdge of many or some here, e.g. you. Thanks for adding to my Spyder education!. I have not heard of Hartco or the guy you mentioned: I will check him out. Many thanks.

New (to me) ST Limited: Questions

OK Another question. Bike came with an Ultimate seat, passenger backrest. The wife is petite and slender but still feel cramped behind me. I figure I'll need a neew seat, one with more distance between the back edge and the drop for the driver's seat. Question is which seats are interchangeable...

New (to me) ST Limited: Questions

VStar Thanks for the welcome and suggestions. I'm coming from a Honda NC700 with Honda's Dual Clutch Transmission, which is a VERY low-revving engine (but I got 60+ MPG with luggage, and I enjoy l-o-n-g trips; those MilesPG were nice.) so learning to let the engine rev a bit more takes some...

Noob: How many "stupid" questions do I get?? This is a paint question.

BajaRon et al— I've been reading the interweb's many articles on gloss v matte v satin and the consensus is that each is different and each requires its own wash/care products and practices. Who knew? Not me. Since BRP calls the 2015 Denim Blue "Satin" I guess it's satin. Fortunately caring for...

Noob: How many "stupid" questions do I get?? This is a paint question.

Gilda— Since you are a woman and you ride a Spyder it follows that I ought not underestimate you. I bow to your experience with a denim blue ST-L and say "Thank you" for straightening me out! I'll hunt down the correct matte paint care products. thanks again!

Noob: How many "stupid" questions do I get?? This is a paint question.

Just looked Lamonster's site where he put a paint code listing. It says for 2015 that "denim blue" has a "satin finish." There are no matte colors for that year, there are glossy, pearl and metallic. Some colors have no added description. So it's NOT matte, but satin. Which prompts another...

Noob: How many "stupid" questions do I get?? This is a paint question.

Never found any sticker that revealed a paint code. Looking at the body and under the seat and other places where the sun don't shine I'm guessing it's a matte finish 'cause it sure ain't shiny anywhere. Recommendations for a non-wax product for my blue-jean Spyder?

Noob: How many "stupid" questions do I get?? This is a paint question.

Hey guys thanks for the warm affirmation. I figured there was no rule about questions and on other forums I've been the one with the experience and responded to noob's questions just as you did. Never thought to ask where vehicle identification info, e.g. paint codes, might be listed. I'll go...
