• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Ok, I give up - what's needed to release rear turn signal light stem/holder/support?

Gentlemen THANK YOU! I've been trying what little I know for three days with no progress. You give me hope! I've ordered the triangle tool but it isn't supposed to arrive until 3 November. I have used a large screwdriver tip to work the same quarter-turn tighteners/releases on the Givi...

Ok, I give up - what's needed to release rear turn signal light stem/holder/support?

Thanks, guys. Still shaking my head. Bert: I found the same fiche(s) in multiple online spots. I'm looking at Part 280 on the section at the right of the fiche showing ST parts. Unfortunate for me, the fiche shows no mounting screws/bolts, so no help in removing the signal holder. 'ppreciate...

Ok, I give up - what's needed to release rear turn signal light stem/holder/support?

I'm having to take all the Tupperware off the left side of my ST in order to replace a cracked footrest holder piece underneath. I cannot figure out what tool to use to release the turn signal support/holder, see the hole in the photo below. Looking into the hole from the outside, all I can see...

Seat/Frunk Latch Release not working - any suggestions? Anyone else?

BlueKnight I can't insert a photo in a PM, so I'm putting them in this thread. Below are two photos, the second is my seat latch, showing the post's hole and the locking tab. The first shows foam in the post hole, and an arrow pointing to where foam might go to hold an unlocked cable possible...

2015 ST: accessory drought; LED: amber or white?; magnetic tank bag; 1157 LED bulbs

Thanks for the reply. I looked again at my manual, the "green manual" and see it is not clear about LED brake lights on the ST. RS? yes. ST? Unclear. (The manuial also refers to 2013 models, so I'm uncertain how to interpret everything I read.) I'll assume they kept incandescent bulbs from the...

2015 ST: accessory drought; LED: amber or white?; magnetic tank bag; 1157 LED bulbs

Greetings I'm in year two of owning my ST L and it's growing on me. I've noticed that the advertisers offer many products for newer Spyders and RT & F3 models, but older, more rare models, such as the ST, have slim pickin's. I understand, with few(er) ST's out there, there's little incentive...

Tail rack for ST and RS 2008-2016

I've got a Maurice rack on my ST and a Givi 52 liter case on top of the rack. Maurice is terrific. Fast service. Available by phone. Helpful when I got stuck installing the rack. Recommended.

Crack in foot rest support on 2015 ST-L - importance of replacing?

Fluid level was correct. It had a structural break. I'm attempting to "fix" the broken piece as an opportunity to learn how to tap metal. I guess it might become a spare, but I don't have space to store it and it'll never be quite right, at least in my mind.

Crack in foot rest support on 2015 ST-L - importance of replacing?

Well, it's Friday afternoon and the dealer in Bend just sent me an email saying the part has come in. I saw the same part on fleabay, and clicked "Watch." Then I ordered from the dealer. Then the fleabay dealer said he or she would give me a discount. Lesson learned: let fleabay work a few...

    Spyder Sightings

I've seen a couple around Redmond, Oregon. Wouldn't mind meeting you. ONE Ryker was beside for a few blocks a month or so ago, also in Redmond. First Ryker I've seen outside the dealer showroom.

Crack in foot rest support on 2015 ST-L - importance of replacing?

Another thought: The fractured piece isn't part of the frame; it's bolted to the frame. It IS stressed a bit, however: Rider and passenger foot pegs/platforms both bolt to the fractured piece. So when I mount the bike my full 192 pounds + boots/clothing/lunch is going onto ONE foot platform...

Crack in foot rest support on 2015 ST-L - importance of replacing?

Gentlemen and Ladies Again: thank you for your thoughts and ideas. Thanks for confirming it's not aluminum. The fracture is not yet top to bottom; there's approximately 30% yet unbroken, rough estimate. A stress relief drilling job might be in order (thanks for that tip. Upon reading up on...

Crack in foot rest support on 2015 ST-L - importance of replacing?

Thanks for all the feedback. Most of it I understood; some less clear. I plan to take it to my local 'cycle shop today or tomorrow and get the opinion of a former CanAm mechanic. it is an odd break. I suspect a poorly manufactured part, but material science is not my area of training or...

Crack in foot rest support on 2015 ST-L - importance of replacing?

On a trip to the Oregon coast a short while ago, stopped in Eugene for gas and rode across a parking lot with a few bumps/dips. Nothing significant. Low speed. Crack sound was from a crack in an aluminum piece, #375 in the attached schematic from a parts store. Crack is visible as a wavery...

GPS mount: Anyone see a problem??

"A pun does not commonly justify a blow in return. But if a blow were given for such cause, and death ensued, the jury would be judges both of the facts and of the pun, and might, if the latter were of an aggravated character, return a verdict of justifiable homicide.” — Oliver Wendell Holmes

GPS mount: Anyone see a problem??

Peter, you beat me to it! But our ride is made by CanAm, not Yamaha, so there are no forks.

Yeah, but what key? G? E flat? I'll get it sorted.

GPS mount: Anyone see a problem??

Well, I've hit a snag with the GPS mounted as shown a few messages back: vibration. The mount attaches to the bike through an expansion nut, AKA a "well nut. (No unhealthy nuts allowed. Gotta be well.) Too flexible for the mount; the rubber allows too much wiggle. I'm now looking for an...

Planning next trip WI, MN, ND, SD, & maybe MT - any good riding maps?

Used to live in Montana. Have ridden there a lot. Best advice I can give is skip eastern Montana, which is difficult if you're coming from the east. Recommended: Beartooth Hwy NE corner of Yellowstone. Glacier Park: east to west on Going to the Sun. Done it more than once, both ways. Prefer E...
