• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Anyone know the trick for installing under tail cover - ST?

I did the upside down thing, too. I was trying any and every thing I could think of. Argh!

What did you do to your Spyder today?

Wired and installed AdMore Lighting's LED kit for the Givi V35 side cases. Not difficult, but a little nerve wracking removing the plastic lenses. No breakage. Ha! Fitting the lenses was more of a challenge. One went in perfectly and easily. The other required many attempts before finally...

Anyone know the trick for installing under tail cover - ST?

Greetings Well, I got three out of seven bolts and/or nuts fastened. The plastic tail piece does not align with the holes holding the threaded clips. It certainly came off without any hassle. Getting it back on, starting from the tail light and working inward: no joy. Starting inward and...

Anyone know the trick for installing under tail cover - ST?

Add pics to garage? Hmmm. I'm not much of a post-a-picture kind of guy. Prefer keeping a low profile whenever possible.

Anyone know the trick for installing under tail cover - ST?

Yes. It's the circled part in the fiche. I know how it is supposed to fit and have the screws that are supposed to hold it in place. Removing it was no big deal. It's as if the plastic piece transmogrified upon removal, becoming something from, say, a 1967 MG TD or a a vintage Moto Guzzi, not a...

Anyone know the trick for installing under tail cover - ST?

Greetings I'm stuck trying to fit the under tail plastic cover in place so it aligns with the bolt-holes. I suspect there's a trick to it, but if there is, it's a trick I've yet to discover. Anyone have experience fitting the under tail cover on an ST? Many thanks for ideas and/or suggestions

Is there any real data regarding the safety of the Spyder vs traditional motorcycles

Most of the motorcycles I rode had decent to great brakes. The Spyder puts them all to shame. Larger contact area; good sized rotors; Brembo hardware. Judging by braking alone, and braking while in a curve without the penalty two wheels sometimes exacts, I'd say the Spyder is safer than...

How would you rate your Spyder Dealer?

Pro Caliber PowerSports Bend, OR I bought my ride through Cycle Trader, so have no experience with the dealer's sales folks. I WILL say no one gives eye contact or says a word when a customer walks in, unless it's a friend of the sales person. 1 on sales. Parts seems to do a good job. I...

The most dangerous place on earth for me.

Been away for awhile, so just now read about your accident. So sorry to learn of this. No advice except to say don't do what I did after destroying my ankle in a low-speed motorcycle accident: I failed to follow doctor's orders after returning home. So my counsel is, to the best of your...

A few tech questions on the 2013 ST-L

I've got the twin of your bike, but in blue. Took me awhile to adjust to the spyder and the large THUNK (not the past tense of "think") when going into first or reverse still startles me. At first I thought I had done something wrong. Experience said "This is how that twin engine's trans does...

What I've learned about Loctite and Threadlockers

Greetings When I was on two wheels I frequented the ADVrider forum. Learned a lot. Returned there yesterday and fell into a very long thread on Loctite, its products and usage. I use the stuff, blue almost exclusively, and use it now on my Spyder. You're probably way ahead of me on thread lock...

Crack in foot rest support on 2015 ST-L - importance of replacing?

Actually, it wasn't that bad a load. My tent+poles+chair aren't too bad. No "Beverly hillbillies" look to it. I recently acquired a 66 liter waterproof duffel, roll top made of PVC cloth to hold all that stuff so one bag rests on the passenger seat instead of three. Two 35 liter side cases...

Crack in foot rest support on 2015 ST-L - importance of replacing?

An update Two body panels to go back on and the Brand New Fresh From BRP in Quebec footrest holder replacement piece will be in. Had plenty of troubles, of course. Factory manuals aren't written by people who use a factory manual! Raised a problem along the way here on the forum and received...

    A Message for the Moderators

I've been here about a year so I don't have the exposure to posts as you do. I came to the Spyder from two-wheels and the adjustment hasn't been delightful. Which may find expression in a complaint. I've never had a perfect vehicle. Every brand, every model, has odd characteristics and most...

Ok, I give up - what's needed to release rear turn signal light stem/holder/support?

HALLELUJAH! I went out in the garage and stared at the whole setup. Noticed the wires that run inside the support and into the under fender area. Saw a bolt that was in the same general aarea as the wires. Took out the bolt, figuring if it's the wrong one, I can put it back. It's the correct...

Ok, I give up - what's needed to release rear turn signal light stem/holder/support?

I HAVE taken a piece of aluminum bar and file its width sufficient to fit into the slots you can see in the photos. Tried turning. No joy.

Ok, I give up - what's needed to release rear turn signal light stem/holder/support?

some almost in-focus photos Left side, the one I need to get off the bike. I think there's supposed to be a cover on the hole; bike didn't have any. It appears to be messed up a bit in there. I can't take credit for that. I'm guessing a PO got impatient and used brute strength and ignorance...
