• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

What's the best belt tensioner? What are you using?

I finally got around to installing an OEM on mine today. If I like it, I intend to replace it with the roller Lamont sells.

When is the best time to buy a new 2017 RT battery?

Dolitle, I put one like this in mine two years or more ago as the OEM was getting weak. Double check the size as I'm not 100% this is the exact one I have. If mine goes tomorrow, I'd get this brand again. https://www.amazon.com/Mighty-Max-Battery-YTX24HL-BSGEL-Product/dp/B00V76AV00?ref_=ast_sto_dp

Need decent storage - F3S & roll my own luggage, or F3T?

Tons of motorcycle specific bags on the market if you want to shop. Otherwise, put your clothes in a plastic bag for waterproofing, stuff it in whatever carryall bag or small luggage you have around the house and bungee it on your back seat using the passenger handles you have back there. I...

'20RTL - what color code to fix Black Rim Rash?

Before you spend a lot of money on a new wheel, get whatever black you think is closst...perhaps semi-gloss, a small brush, and give it a try. Might find it works well enough. Or check with some car dealers to find a local touch up outfit. They use them all the time.

What is the Secret to tightening the Axle Nut after Belt Adjustment?

If I have to do it again before the front sproket gets replaced under the recall, I'll give your method a try. Right now, its running fairly good at 175lbs (Kriket). Appreciate the feedback from all of you.

Batteries are Good ... Until They're Not

I put a Might Max in mine back in late 2020 and its holding up fine for what I paid...$67. Looks like this one but did not buy from Ebay ...I think it was a Walmart vendor...

What brand of coolant/anti-freeze is BRP using?

I have some Dex-Cool that was used in my GM motor in the Slingshot. It has an orange cap. Not at all sure this is appropriate for Can Am tho. Says its Phosphate & Silicate free, contents are Glycol......, Diethelene...... Going to draine and flush mine before winter and might just use...

First multi day trip with the wife riding her own spyder!

A section of the BRP is closed heading West where it crosses Rt 421, just before you get to Boone. Not sure where you detour around to get on it, probably around Boone. RT 421 from Winston Salem to Boone is in good condition and generally not heavily trafficked.

What is the Secret to tightening the Axle Nut after Belt Adjustment?

I have a clicker type torque wrench that goes up to 150 lbs, and a large socket that fit, and one for the left side to hold the axle while tightening. I can easily get the socket between the muffler and axle nut so thats not a problem and a section of pipe over the wrench handle to get the...

Help! Trying to get a working intercom/audio to our Helmets?! SOLVED!!!!!

My riding buddy and I have the Sena 50S and when parked next to each other, or at gas stations, you can hear each other breathing (or grunting as the case may be while mounting) with exceptionally clear bluetooth. We've had them about a year now and they've never lost pairing (they did come...

Dealer claimed they couldn't release my Spyder if it failed the sprocket wear test!

I'd tell them it is my bike, I'm taking home, and if they want a waiver of liability, lay it on the table.

What is the Secret to tightening the Axle Nut after Belt Adjustment?

Bruce, can't visualize how you drive a 2 x 4 between wheel and swingarm. Do you have it on a lift and the 2X4 goes in from the bottom? Something diff?

    Looking for a good motorcycle-trike wheel-cleaner?

Been using Simple Green for years. Rear wheel is much harder to clean and you're going to have to get on it with rag. The cleaner can only do so much.

What is the Secret to tightening the Axle Nut after Belt Adjustment?

Many thanks for the feedback. I just came in from giving it another bit of torque and the Kriket reading was about 175 on the ground. If it holds at that, that is prob close enuf to suit. The reason I've been diddling so much with it is either loud whine and/or vibes at uncomfortable...

What is the Secret to tightening the Axle Nut after Belt Adjustment?

I've done it so much I can just about tell by feel whether its within the Kriket range or not. I had about a 130 with wheel up. Will check to see what it reads after a final torque. BTW, I'm just across the Yadkin river about 5 mi up Rt 150.

What is the Secret to tightening the Axle Nut after Belt Adjustment?

I get the belt loosened to where I want it, tighten the axle nut, and the belt tightens! Every time! Have gone thru this a half doz times now. I might have got it right today, purely by luck, as it rode well with no obvious vibrations, but I still need to torque the nut up more. Getting...

    Part finder - Assistance required

I found that getting the pin out was nearly impossible for me so I just use a nylon tie around the bar. The bars on mine are black so the tie is not obvious as it would be on your red ones but its something you can use in a pinch.
