• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Looking at Slingmods Luggage Rack - any feedback? How does it look on '24 RT?

I installed the large rack on my 21 RTL, and wished I had not. The extra weight on the lid would not let the lid remain open on its own. Was a pain holding it open..... I removed it and now have plastic plugs filling the holes. I also realized the Spyder has more packing space than any bike I'm...

Is there any way to tell if 2021 RTL needs a Software update?

I bought a used 21 RTL from a private party. 4K miles, had all the dealer service records. 10K miles later, last July, was on my way to the 3-wheeler rally in Deadwood. Was doing secondary roads and was on the 191 in Utah. 10 miles north of Vernal, it flat out died. I did not realize how lucky I...

Has anyone with a 2024 Spyder RTL installed HeliBars?

I considered a Helibars, but for the expense , I decided to try the 2" riser first. It solved my reaching issues. Since the instal, I have over 5K miles. Very happy

Thanks Peter for the suggestion! Did not think about the battery cover, it appears the bottom portion was not sealed properly, probably fixed now!

Frunk is soaking wet after a wash - any thoughts on where it's coming from??

Every time I wash my 2021 RTL, the Frunk gets soaking wet, but only at the bottom. Only using a normal garden hose. Can't tell where it's coming from! Any thoughts here? Thanks in advance.

    Is it Zumo time???

I have a Zumo 595 and a XT The XT is much better in bright sunlight. The 595 is designed to work directly with Spotify and Pandora. The XT will play anything on my phone to my 21 RTL via Bluetooth. Both should be used with Basecamp on a computer for creating routes and managing waypoints

Has anyone with a '21+ Spyder got a Baja Ron anti sway bar? Worth it?

I noticed a big difference and thought it was money well spent, but I do like working the curves, so it might depend on ones riding style

What's the Part Number for 2020 RT Ltd Tool Kit? Where is the Kit?

I personally found the original tool kit as being worthless. I made up my own with better tools

Trying to decide which a/mkt seat for 2020 RT Ltd - any discussion?

Another vote for a Russell Daylong. I currently own 4. 2 on BMW's, an Ultra Harley, and my 21 RTL. Bought my first one 20+ years ago, have some 300K miles on one. They just work. The rest listed here are commercial seats made for the general masses. They might be ok or not. A Russell is...

Is an Aerostich suit the way to go? Or not?

I prefer a Darian jacket. It's the best in hot weather. You open the sleeves and catch a mass flow of air. Better than any vents in any other jacket. I wear the Darian pants during the winter, but prefer the Kevlar mesh pants from Moto Port when it gets hot. I live outside of Death Valley and...

2019 RT Handlebar grips getting too hot, is this normal?

When it's so cold I'm turning on the grips, I will be wearing a deer skin gauntlet with Thinsulate. Low is just fine for me. So are the complaints with riders wearing a thin glove?

After info on raising floorboards & fitting hwy foot pegs?

I needed to raise mine after the Russell seat was installed as it is higher than stock. The Lamonster kit will raise the floor boards 1.5". I went with the kit from Sling Mods which will do 1" and 2". Depends on what you need. I also got the 2" brake riser block and larger brake pedal. Very...

Are the Ultimate seats a good buy?

A Day Long is simply the best, and not just an opinion. Just had one made in leather on my 21 RTL, currently own 3 other bikes with a Russell. Not cheap, but you get what you pay for!

    Riding Gear Poll

Wife and I always travel with ATGATT. Motoport Kevlar pants and a Aerostich Darien or leather. But will admit, at times I will run an errand not wearing a jacket, But always at least jeans, boots, gloves and a real helmet. I have been to several Spyder gatherings and see way too many riders...

Is there a way to make auxiliary plug work only while the key is on?

Without looking for a circuit that is always hot, you could disconnect the existing connectors, and run new wires to either the battery or in my case, an added 12 volt aux. source.

    Confessions on tour planning

Gotta decide what the main focus of the trip is. The destination or wandering on secondary roads. Wandering will add more days to a trip, and food and more rooms. We try and do a little of both. We do 3 long trips a year, around 5000 each. Blast a day or 2, then a side trip. we like 500 mile...

Open trunk banner would not go out - anyone else?

It took around 100+ miles, then went away on its own. I had pulled the switch out and cleaned it the best I could. Exercised it while connected. I could not un-plug it without taking a lot of tupperware off, so I could not verify if the switch was working or if it was something else. About 1000...

Anyone installed the Afterburner tail-light mod?

Have not heard that one, would probably have to be a LEO that's offended by our flag...... I'm not taking it off unless forced too. My wife is a retired Kern co. Deputy and several of her old running mates have seen it and thought it was cool. Now i'm going to start asking around. Guess it only...
