• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    fault codes display

Sorry, but I did forget to mention that you have to have the Hr mode screen showing. (just work your way through the different modes with the mode button on the left handlebar until the Hr mode is showing ). Bob

    fault codes display

That's correct. Clear the warning message, start the engine, (assuming it's not an engine problem), depress the mode button on left handlebar and flash the headlights 5 times. Bob

If the engine is running, you do all that you said, except you do not need to depress the headlight override switch. Bob

Survey- Has your Spyder been in the shop for repair

When the technician connected to BUDS, the message showed "VCM failure, no external repair possible". They just replaced the VCM. The tech did check all the fuses and relays while they were waiting to hear if a new VCM was on the shelf. What might have helped was that I was receiving calls...

Survey- Has your Spyder been in the shop for repair

Mine went into limp mode about 1000Kms from home, with all sorts of faults scrolling across the screen. After being towed to the dealer in Sydney (about 200Kms), courtesy of BRP Australia's free Roadside Assist Package, and connecting to BUDS, the VCM (vehicle control module) was deemed to have...

    Mirrors loose.

Recently noticed one of my mirrors was loose. Used a torx bit in my socket set ratchet. Tightened up fine. You just can't get enough leverage with the driver supplied in the tool kit. You could try putting a spanner on the shaft of the driver. Bob

    Wiring Diagram

I was wondering if anyone out there in Spyder land has an electronic version of the wiring diagram, that I can blow up to A3 size. The eyes ain't what they used to be. Bob

    GPS finaly fitted

Thought some of you might be interested in where I finally decided to fit my GPS. Didn't fancy fitting to the handlbars. The cradle for the GPS is screwed directly to the handlebar shroud with rubber spacers making up for the uneven shape. Oh, and Scotty, thanks for your info about aux...

    Unswiched power(again)

I want to fit some Powelet sockets to the top panel in front of the gauges, as some others have done. How do I connect to the unswitched power connector (the black plug) under the black cover at the front of the Spyder? Do I need a BRP special connector. or are they readily available. Also...

    Cool

I sure do remember the Bond Mini car (as featured in my favorite TV comedy series, Only Fools And Horses}. One of my Old Scout masters from MANY years ago had one. Most strange to watch him open the bonnet(hood), put his leg inside, and Kick start the Villiers 197cc engine into life (if he was...

    1GB memory stick from BRP

About a month after I picked up my Spyder, I also received a package from BRP Australia. It contained a 1GB memory stick, plus a Tank bag and two Canam caps. It's a nice way to say thank you and was totaly unexpected. I put all the pdf manuals plus the workshop manual on the memory stick...

    Cool

Does anyone (other than an old git like me) remember the Morgan three wheelers. Had a vee twin engine mounted right at the front, in front of the radiater (either JAP or Matchless, 1000cc) with a drive chain running from the front all the way to the back to drive the rear wheel. Morgan will be...
