• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Parasitic battery drain?

I have a 2013 ST-L. The battery has drained down several times after only 3 days of non-use. I checked the "switch off" current and it is about 150 mA. This is after the bike has been off for at least an hour. Any suggestions on where this drain might be coming from or how to track it down?lo

Strong gasoline smell after riding - is this common? Any fix?

I bought my 2013 ST back about one year ago from an individual. I had never heard of this panel change out due to overheating issues. Had the bike a couple of weeks and read on here about this goodwill change out. Called up the local dealer (Daytona) and they replaced them free of charge. Even...

    ST panel removal

I did my sway bar and did not take off the frunk. You have to jack the front end up really high though. As for removing the panels they are all pretty easy, although I have not removed the panels where you have to remove the mirrors.

    Thanks for the help

Just replaced the rear tire on my 2013 ST-L. It was the OEM with about 7K. I replaced it with a Yokohama S Drive. Don't think I would have had the confidence to do it if it wasn't for this website. Took the wheel off, left the brake disk and sprocket on and took it to a motorcycle shop and had...

Starting a Spyder off of a battery booster

Yeah I know what you mean. The first use of my Rugged was with a dead battery and it wouldn't crank it over. Charged the battery for about an hour and the bike started fine. Can not get the Rugged to start it by disconnecting the hot lead to the battery. Soon, I am going to try using jumper...

Rear Wheel Removal, brake caliper removal

Ok, probably a stupid question. I'm getting ready to replace my rear tire on a 2013 ST-L. With the parking brake on (normal parked state) the caliper is tight on the rotor. So do I turn the key on, release the parking brake, hopefully this will let the caliper drop off, re-set the parking brake...

Starting a Spyder off of a battery booster

Well it didn't crank it with a dead battery either. How can you check a battery booster if you have a good battery without disconnecting the vehicle battery?

Starting a Spyder off of a battery booster

I just tried this, both with the battery disconnected and the key on and then with the key off and the Rugged Geek Booster won't even turn the engine over once. I have a brand new battery so I have to disconnect the battery to simulate a "bad" battery to test the booster. This all started...

Starting a Spyder off of a battery booster

I purchased a Rugged Geek Boost starter recommended by Lamonster. I could not get it to start my 2013 ST-L. I contacted Rugged Geek and they sent me another one. It too will not turn over the Sypder engine but it will start my F-150. I have hooked it up to the jump points on the LHS and...

    Air Filter Removal

My manual says to access the air filter you have to remove the console assembly including the windshield and mirrors, gauge cluster and a bunch of other stuff. Is this really necessary? There must be an easier way to replace the air filter. I did a search but didn't see any help. Best Tom

That video must be for the manual transmission. The semi-auto transmission has an additional filter that is replaced with each oil change.

    Positive press

One of the comments: "Rented one for a day. Where do I begin. Torque steer makes the bike pull to one side on even gentle throttle. Hit an expansion joint or bump in the tarmac and the machine will jump off line. Constant small steering corrections required even during steady state cruising in...

    Remove Tupperware for shock replacement?

Thanks for the help everybody. Replaced the shocks yesterday. I found it easier to just remove the tupperware and have easy access to the upper shock bolt. Also while in there, I lubed the four zirk fittings. I like my new Fox shocks.

    Remove Tupperware for shock replacement?

I have searched both ST forums for a how to on this subject with no luck. If you could provide a link that would be great. I have seen this but it for a different body style: Thanks
