• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Experienced Riders and Riding Gear - Am I kidding my self ??

Clip-on armor, high side/low side is about the only difference. A tall windscreen may block bugs and stones, but you can still be lauched from the saddle. I always tell people to wear the gear now, because you may survive without it and you won't like it.

    Frustrating Service Experience

In large part, "power sports" maintenance shops just suck. Very few are worth a dingle berry. Whether MMI grad or otherwise(often just off the street), most are not going to survive via errors or think it's a cool job for very long. Even the best of the shops highest paid tech/mech or what ever...

    Ever seen this?

One of the original members on here who I think is gone now had a military scheme on his spyder and trailer...with a gatlin gun or 50 cal on top. He got pulled over a few times. I'm sure some photos are in the history here. Cheers to the odd ball Spyders

    Dead Spyder

Never really looked into it, possibly reed switches if it has a floating magnet, or a proximity sensor and floating target. I'm just use to always hearing about a substitute resistors or chips needed to bypass something without getting fault. I had to tear the tiny circuit out of the passegener...

Are you talking SE clutch type slipping? I have had zero problems with m/c Mobil1 Synth on the Spyders or any motorcycle. I don't like the the BRP blends though, I always noticed it started seeping out the seals and gaskets shortly after servicing.

You removed the sensors and wiring or just the wiring? Did you substitute a resistor or it doesn't care? Seems like it would set it off obviously since it senses no fluid capacity when pulled away.

I think the cap deal is tribal knowedge more than factory, the vent slit was factory though. I still get brake warnings sometimes if riding on some mountain roads with some quick elevation changes.

    Good Deal or Not?

Check surrounding area dealers via cycle trader and craigslist for as far as you are willing to drive and ride home or have delivered(I still really recommend in person visit). They have/had new 2014's on closeout sale in this area for $9500...was cheaper than some of the used ones at same dealers.

    Hard nut to crack

It's been quite a while, I believe there were tooth latches you had to press into around that seem and lift up on the upper half which use to be called the cougar head...never hear that anymore. Get the Spyder maintenance manual on CD from Midwest manuals or Green manuals.

My bad, I am in the habit of repeating that. There is a vent that should be cut in the center, I see it on yours. The vent was cut by some, but it became a stock item. That vent and the bump on the top pointing aft is what to watch for. Without the vent cut and the bump facing in other...
