• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    SpyderAnn01's Big Adventure

"We sold our house in Michigan" is a term not used very often! Congrat! We sold ours in da UP a few years ago and were shocked! I see your hubby has a ST1300. I (stupidly) sold my 98 ST1100. They are fantastic motorcycles. Enjoy our new adventure! Brad da YOOPER in WA.

WANTED: plug & play horn for RS and RT

Contrary to the general consensus, I installed a Stebel, without using a relay, and have not had a problem with it. I had to drill an extra hole in the stock bracket to bolt the new horn on, but that was about it. The wiring plugged right in, if memory serves.(But sometimes it doesn't do so...

    Disappointing trip

How did your RT do towing the trailer? Did you ride 2 up? Was the trailer loaded or empty? Is your RT a manual clutch? Gas mileage? We found that riding two up and towing the loaded trailer, although it hindered acceleration quite a bit, could run the speed limit with no trouble. Gas mileage...

Thanks, Joe, for a great Oyster Run!

*ahem*..Leave it to me to be almost 2 weeks late! Yes, we did have a wonderful time. I completely forgot aboot meeting Flamingo's brother..AND the "hat flying" incident. Unfortunately,Kiddo had school that day, so she and Pat couldn't attend, but she did get to protect her RT from the wrath of...

    OYSTER RUN

If you would like to go and not ride in the group, leave alone, a bit early, and stop at our place. We can join the tail end of the pack in Conway and follow to LaConner if that would make you feel more comfortable.

Undependable - when is a lemon a lemon

Our old PE200 spent the winter in the UP of MI. with no tender. Temps got down below 0 deg F and below freezing for many days. I came home for Xmas and it fired right up in 20 deg weather. Never had a problem with the battery in our RS or our RT(except for loose cables on the RT). For any dealer...

    CORBIN....never again

I agree with Scotty. I never had a RDL seat on a Spyder, but I did have one on the Honda ST1100 I drove cross country 2 years ago. I never got sore. It was a fantastic, great looking seat. I m doing a bit of research now about rebuilding a seat myself for my Kawasaki 1100 Spectre. I purchased a...

    OYSTER RUN

I will attempt to intercept the group as you exit I-5 @ exit 221 (assuming you will be taking that exit to LaConner) at the first gas station on the right in Conway. But, man,..that's AWFULLY EARLY for a RETIRED GUY to be MOTIVATING! Good thing someone mentioned GIANT CINNAMON ROLLS ! :D

    little things

I still like first gen Ventures. What sold me was riding on the back of one (my 79 GW aquired a flat) on a warm night back in the UP of MI. It was smooth as silk, comfortable, and when I glanced over Tom's shoulder, we were cruising leisurely at 120 mph. 2 weeks later, I bought one. Amazingly...

    little things

The only thing about the RT that I ve noticed (other than the seat) is the handlebars. If the ends were tweaked in towards the rider maybe 5 to 10 deg, it would make a significant difference for me. I notice the outside bone area of my wrist gets sore after a while and I have to loosen the grip...

    Oil Usage

We rode 5500 miles and used around 3/4 qt. Pretty rough on the Spyder, towing a trailer and a passenger. I figgered we would use more. Billy: Large difference between "using" oil and "LEAKING"! :roflblack: *awaits response from Lou* :)
