• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

What's going on with this Super-hot exhaust???

Not at all sure what you are referring to Wood, unless you are thinking about the intake airbox. If so, that was a legacy issue with oil carry-over from the crank case breather. It would accumulate in the airbox, run down all over the place and make a mess, and could be ingested by the engine...

What's going on with this Super-hot exhaust???

Michael. On your exhaust system, the two header pipes from each cylinder come together into a common pipe, and then enter the muffler. So, it would only take one injector to be screwing up to get an overly rich mixture, not both of them. The muffler simply has two exit holes. They are not...

Anyone have an idea about why my Tail-Lights are Staying on?

If you have not had this recall done, it wasn’t your tail nights. It was your brake lights. Applies to all 2021 RTs. https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/rcl/2023/RCSB-23V175-2373.pdf If you have had the recall done, some techs have messed up the adjustment with the two jam nuts. So, if that is the...

998cc Did Bad fuel cause additional problems? Ideas?

Ok Spinna - let's reset this. Unless there was some other contamination problem, 87 octane fuel had nothing to do with it. It's the most commonly available fuel in North America. Of course, a Spyder can run on that. But, you made some decisions based on that which may not have been a problem at...

998cc Did Bad fuel cause additional problems? Ideas?

So, what codes do you have now?

998cc Did Bad fuel cause additional problems? Ideas?

Well, It's North Carolina after all. Maybe he meant 83 proof. Now Back to Spinnadude - if you actually meant 87 octane, then everybody knows, 87 octane won't do to your 998 what you have described. There's more to the story. Fess up. I bet that you didn't actually need to replace your 02...

998cc Did Bad fuel cause additional problems? Ideas?

Did you really mean to say 83 octane? I don’t know what that is. But, if you did, that could be important.

Spyder will not leave Neutral for reverse or forward - any ideas?

At the top of the page where it says Home, Forum, What’s New, (etc), click/tap on Forum. In the list of Forums that appears, click/tap on the Forum you want to start a thread in. On that forum page that appears, look in the upper left for a big red button with black font lettering inside that...

Spyder will not leave Neutral for reverse or forward - any ideas?

LHS = Left Hand Switch. That multi-function switch cluster on your left handlebar. Bert wanted you to test all of the other functions besides the paddle shifter. There has been the occasional failure of that assembly. There was actually a warranty bulletin for the 2018 F3 on it. Fuse - see...

What is the actual break-in mileage? First oil-change due when?

There are restrictions on OPERATION for the first 600 miles. The first MAINTENANCE is at 3000 miles. Two different things. Not a contradiction at all. As far as your dealer goes….well, let’s just say he’s trying to empty your wallet. No advantage to an oil change at 500 miles. Just follow your...

'21 S2S with Erratic windshield operation - Any ideas?

By design, when you turn the key off, and then immediately depress and hold the UP button for about 5 seconds-ish (or longer), it cancels the auto retract. I always listen for that second relay click after the key is turned off. It is very faint. Then I know I can release the switch if I want to...

Basics first.... Do you have the brake pedal depressed?

Need help in Locating the Parking Brake Bracket Part Number? Anyone help?

It’s really good to know what’s in that kit. Thank you for that. So, you played a hunch and look at that. You even got a new spring. Did you buy the lottery ticket, yet? Be safe and stay hydrated out there.

Safety Recall Notice re brakes - that's probably caused my battery failure!

Here's a link to the recall notice from BRP. The problem causes the brake lights to stick on at times. "If it hasn't done it by now, I wonder if it will ever do it" - How can you be sure it hasn't done it? Brake lights are behind you - just check on it and get it done. It's free...

Is your Top case interior light always on with Ignition on??

I liked the phone idea, Gracie. Pretty sure you were asking about the relationship between the light and the lid, not the light and the key. And yes, yours is working as designed. Closing the lid does NOT turn the light off.

Where is Accessory power on 2024 S2S? Did it get removed?

I’m looking at the rubber plug on the '23 and it’s on the left side - always referenced by perspective of sitting on bike. I had to remove the battery to initially find them. But I was doing that anyway. Up above battery, left side. Use a mirror. Looks like the pic if it's there. And they’re...

Stalling 2016 RT Spyder - any ideas?

Those are typical codes received when the system has been on and the voltage went low. For example, when you go into the house and leave the key on. They aren’t indications of the root cause. But, easy enough to rest your mind about. Completely charge your battery, put a meter on it and start up...

2014 RT - with paddle shift that shuts down engine! Any ideas?

Well, the “drag” test certainly isn’t a bad idea, and it's easy enough to do. I wish that Don could provide info if there are any secondary indications of a dragging clutch, such as the shift into gear being extra hard, or that the bike shudders, jerks, or tries to move before it stalls. Or...

2014 RT - with paddle shift that shuts down engine! Any ideas?

+10…….Think about it Don. Adding an additive to a wet clutch system, the intent of which is to increase clutch slippage. Sound like a good idea?

Stalling 2016 RT Spyder - any ideas?

Well, you're probably right about the condensation. Especially if the tank wasn't chock full of fuel. The more airspace, the more condensation. Throttle body cleaning wasn't really an issue with the 1330. If it was mine, I'd syphon out the gas tank completely and refill. Sounds like it does...
